We were 10 and 12.
It was just my mom my sister and I. And I was more more responsible than thr average 12 year old.
My mom would have to go to work early so she’d leave us to get ourselves ready and on the bus.
She wouldn’t have done it if I wasn’t okay with it tho.
But it stayed that way.
Just have a good safety plan for them.

It depends on the maturity of the child when my oldest who’s now 15 was 11 she was mature enough to stay home by herself for me to run to the grocery store or whatever but my youngest who is 11 now is not as mature so she gets left with her sister. But she will probably be ready by the end of the summer if not before

It depends on the child. You know your children best. We started when our girls were around 10-12 going to the store quickly to see how comfortable they were. One of my daughter’s was more ready and the other thought she was but got a bit too freaked out being by herself.
Check your laws. Some states you can’t legally leave them home alone until 14 years of age. And in some places there is a certain time limit that has to be met as well. So be careful.
We always did, but we were very mature for our age.
12 13 depending on maturity and trust.
Age does not matter what like obviously you’re not gonna leave at three year-old at home alone but it’s more so about their maturity and how they can handle situations and emergencies themselves.
