I wasn’t able to get pregnant being on the depo. It took years for me to get pregnant. Finally able to have a baby.

What does your doctor recommend?

I have had 2 live births and 2 miscarriages.

It’s up to you if you’re in a healthy mental state to try again and potentially end up in the same situation.

I had a miscarriage and decided not to stress and just enjoy the “whatever happens, happens” period and then I did get pregnant without a cycle in between.

It CAN happen, but it CAN lead to another disappointment.

The depo shot makes it really hard to get pregnant, a lot of women take the depo shot to become infertile because that’s what it does to most women… I stopped taking it after they told me that and I still haven’t had a period or haven’t gotten pregnant.

What does the doctor say?

I had one early this year and my doctor told us to hold off until after my first regular period after the miscarriage.

When you are on the depo shot you don’t get a period. I was on it for almost 2 years a long time ago and never had a period.

After my miscarriage we started back again but took 6 months and I wasn’t on any BC

Birth control is to help prevent pregnancy. Stop all forms of birth control and you will have a better chance .

Not going to go into anything about the Depp shot as I wouldn’t know (only ever been on the pill), but as far as trying again I had a miscarriage in May of 2018. Decided in November of 2018 to actively stop trying not to get pregnant (so in other words letting things happen if it’s meant to happen) and December 2018 fell pregnant again and now have a healthy 4yo and 2yo (although the 2yo was a whoopsie/too much tequila baby lol)

Stop taking the shot have your doctor check you first as well.

I’ve been on depo for 10 years. I’ve never once had a period in 10 years. You’re probably spotting because you just started it. My doctor has told me that if I wanted to get pregnant, I should be off depo for one year before trying. Although, that’s probably because I’ve been on it for a whole decade.

If you are on depo you will not conceive.

The depo typically lasts 3 months 90 days ish so if it’s been past that and your doc thinks it’s safe you should be able to go ahead. After my natural miscarriage my doc had me wait a whole cycle before trying which ended up being like 6 weeks after because it took 2-3 weeks for my body to realize I wasnt pregnant and my hcg levels to drop. After my miscarriage that had a d&c I had to wait the 6 weeks because it was essentially a birth and my uterus needed to heal. I’d definitely check in with your doc.

Talk to your doctor first

Depo is birth control. You won’t conceive at all.

You really need to talk to your Dr.

I got pregnant without even having a period return after missing one depo injection by a couple of weeks.

Why do people ask the internet questions intended for doctors… trying to conceive on birth control is not a good idea. Some, if successful, cause birth defects. Depo is just dangerous all around.

We not Doctors. Go to the Dr. Everybody’s different.

Why get depo? Horrible for you and your reproductive system if you’re wanting to conceive

After my first two children I went on the depo shot and spotted for the entire time I was on it. 9+ months both of those times, but didn’t have an actual period. The third time I was on the depo shot I got pregnant.

You’re probably spotting cause it’s your first shot. You can still bleed up to the third but for most it completely stops by the third shot. If you wanna get preg obviously don’t get the second shot and ask your doc how long after the first shot and not getting anymore can you start trying
