Eye appointments? Do we start at a certain age? Or do we only take them if we think they’re having problems seeing?
2 years is what the eye Dr told me
Sometimes you can’t tell when a child is having problems. Also, sometimes the child doesn’t know what things are supposed to look like. I would say when they start school. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in 1st grade.
My daughter started going at 3 and she’s goes every year
Usually school age or before if you notice them having issues… Frequent headaches…
My kids get an eye exam every year at their primary care doctor. Last year is the first year they mentioned my son’s vision being a little iffy, and he’s a teenager. But they said it wasn’t anything to worry about yet and they’d check next time. If he starts to have issues in the meantime, then they suggested seeing an eye doctor.
2-3 years old. Able to sit still, listen to simple commands and able to respond correctly when spoken to.
Mine have been going since they started 1st school age 4 x
We saw a pediatric ophthalmologist due to being a preemie and to r/o retinopathy of prematurity, he cleared him at 1 year old and said he doesn’t need to see an eye dr until school starts unless he fails his eye screen at his yearly physical or complains of something
At 3. Before they start pre k. Lazy eyes run in my family so we try to keep a close eye on our kiddos
My child had to start wearing eyeglasses at 4 years old
my 2 younger daughters started wearing glasses around age 3 and they are 12 and 13 and my niece was younger than them. one way you will know if need is if the kids are sitting on top the tv thats how we knew.
Mine have been going since 12m old. I have a history of eye disease and blindness in my family though
6 months old.
And once per year after that.
Been in eye care for 7 years, it’s important to have your kids checked out starting at 6 months.
Ur pediatrician should give a basic one at check ups. If there’s issues, u go. Or if there are other symptoms headaches or can’t see well.
My kids started seeing the eye doctor at six months
