When should you take your kids to the dentist?

This is my first bio baby, so I really don’t know this answer. When do I schedule his first dentist appointment? He has a tooth that is like 1/4 of the way through, but I don’t know if I’m supposed to wait until it’s fully out or if I should schedule it now. TYIA!

My baby turns a year old in a week and has 8 teeth, I’m planning to make her an appointment with a pediatric dentist soon after her birthday.

Call ur local dentist at 6 mos old let them know they are ur local dentist they will ask u a bunch of questions they will tell u there policies for when they would like to start seeing kids and the most important they will tell u how long the wait list is and when u need to schedule the first appointment it maybe they schedule 6-8 mos out so they may get her on the books asap to keep the proper dental schedule.

Wait until the baby is 2… When they have most or all their teeth.

I took both of mine when they got their first set (6months). Just to get used to going and introduce them to the environment.

They took my kids a little after 2. We couldn’t be seen by anyone prior to that.

Coming from a dental office, 6 months is when they should go

Earlier is better, my kids dentist booked ours in just before 1 year for a “teeth tickle” appointment. They just show the kids the tools, tickled their teeth a few times, practiced opening wide for the back teeth tickles and gave them a pick from the toy bin. Starting with a good experience will help with future not so fun appointments.

Check with your insurance.

Honestly I took all four of my children by 6 months old and they had their first tooth.

I waited for all my kids to be a year that way they weren’t freaking out and biting

Most dentists in my area recommend starting around age 2. A lot of dentists won’t see children until closer to 3 unless they are a pediatric dentist.

Usually when they start getting teeth. Start them young so they’re not afraid of the dentist.

2 or 3 is what I’ve been told.
