When to start potty training?

My son is 18 months old and keeps taking his diaper off. Is he ready to start potty training? If so any tips how to start, im due with our daughter any day now.

Read “oh crap! Potty training” it’s a life saver. I don’t suggest potty training unless you have 3 days in a row you can devote to it and stay home. We stayed home he was naked a full day and by the end of day 4 he was telling us he had to go and wearing clothes. The book explains perfectly

my son is 2 he does same thing it drives me crazy

Take him to the bathroom Everytime you go . Get him a potty to try and go while you go

Seems like hes telling you hes ready girl! I just kept reminding my kids “you have to go potty? Tell mommy” and would often lead them every so often to the potty.

my mom said that when I was a baby I started doing that and then she worked on potty training and she said it was much easier because I apparently never wanted to wear diapers

One tip: most kids that age take off their diapers. It doesnt necessary mean they are ready. There’s other signs to look for. Maybe try pull ups

I wouldn’t try to start now as he will probably regress when his baby sister comes as most usually do

Yes he is I changed dry diapers for 3 days when I realized he was using the toilet at 20 Mos. old.

Following mine is 16 months and doing the same

That’s how I always knew, and they start waking up dry too

Put him on the potty every 15/20 mins. Jump up and down get him excited after he goes.

Maybe maybe not. My son just likes playing with his penis -_- he’s not ready to potty train just yet. Lol. Plus with a new baby coming I wouldn’t train him yet cause he’s probably going to regress for a bit when the new baby is born.
