Why do I get tired when I eat?

Hey mamas! Ive never posted here before and im a first time mom and due in September. But I was wondering if any of you have experienced this problem im having to deal with. Every time I eat, I get overwhelming tired. Like to the point where I could literally fall asleep as im eating. Its becoming so bad and I dont understand it. Have any of you experienced this while pregnant? If so, what did you do?? Im at a complete loss at this point. Thanks in advance!

I was fatigued my whole first trimester with my 1st born. Its just your body using energy to digest that food and make a baby… All the important parts are being developed. Wish I had a tip to help, I just toughed it out and eventually it went away.

Sometimes pregnancy just makes you tired. But…If you haven’t had your sugar test yet, then you probably should have it checked. Blood sugar issues can make you extremely drowsy.

Eat smaller meals more often? My Dr recomended to eat every two hours… Maybe that would help you?

Yes absolutely lol comes wirh growing a baby. Digesting food becomes a lot harder on your body during pregnancy because you’re making a baby to. My best advice is to take that nap when you have that chance to, cause those naps will be your best friend for awhile. Also eat every 2-4 hours, in small snacks/meals.

Maybe have doc check your iron too. May be extremely anemic. Most pregnant women are to some degree.

I was tired in my first semester. Then it got better in my second, and I’m right at the end of my second semester right now it’s getting worse. I’m due in June so I still have a way to go just push through it!

Oh man, I was so tired when I was carrying my twins that I fell asleep just about anytime I wasn’t moving! I even fell asleep on the toilet once!:joy::joy: But seriously, talk to your O.B. Just in case.

Totally normal for pregnancies, however if you try smaller portions more frequently through the day they may help with the “food coma” feeling

Just your body preparing for the birth, babies zap energy as you will understand once baby makes his or her appearance.

Ugh my third pregancy. All i wanted to do was eat and sleep.

I was slightly anemic during my last pregnancy which led to me being SUPER tired! But your obgyn should be checking those levels anyway

Yep everytime lol. I’m also 38.3 weeks and anemic so I have to eat the right kinds of foods sometimes like with more iron otherwise I get very bad case and can barely function. Eat smaller meals instead of large ones.

I did and they found out I had pregnancy diabetes
