Any ideas on what's going on with my daughter?

Sounds like gallbladder to me. I had same symptoms for almost a year. Had upper gi done. Found I was full of gallstones. Hope she finds out what’s wrong with her.

I’d check her gallbladder. These symptoms are very similar to mine when I had gallstones. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. I hope you find answers and she gets better!

I had my gallbladder removed at 20. I was in pain for months. I was throwing up everything I ate. Go to a gastroenterologist. Ask for a hida scan. By the time I had one done my gallbladder was no longer functioning

My daught has many of theses same symptoms she does have bowel problems but usually it is bad gas we give her hot water to drink and a bag of rice we warm in the microwave it help a lot

Have they checked her for cysts on her ovaries?

Make sure her blood work is completely normal, CBC with differential and a complete Metobolic panel , a gyn should see her sometimes what happens is the ovaries can twist and it is extremely painful and causes the symptoms you are saying. Good luck hope everything turns out well. She should also get an upper GI series. What city do you live in if you don’t mind me asking.

My daughter had all those symptoms she had a bacteria, the gastroenterologist prescribed her antibiotic and miralax so she could go to the bathroom she had a big accumulation of stool as well.

Gallbladder!
I had gallstones for well over a year when i was 18 yrs old.Multiple trips to the er where i was told nothing was wrong, had indigestion…to where i would be in pain for hours.gave me back pain.stomach pain.gas ect horrible pain.By the time they finally did an ultrasound n found the stones i had lost atleast 30 pounds was throwing up could barely move. For what is supposed to be a in n out surgury.24 hour hospital stay turned in to damn near 2 weeks in the hospital 2 different surgeries because they had misdiagnosed me so long the gallstones had traveled out of my gallbladder and were free in my stomach.
Push the issue mom.You know something is wrong and dont stop until one of these drs actually care enough to not stop until they find out what is going on.

My son has most of these symptoms since he was 3 he’s now 14 and still gets them… he’s had 7 endoscopy’s, ultrasound’s while drinking contrast to watch how he ingests, mri’s, blood tests, stool tests, etc… they couldn’t find a diagnosis for my son either so said it could be abdominal migraines…. My son missed so much school growing up, he’s had ulcers, some days unable to keep food down, usually after eating he would get nauseous… he has anti-nausea medications on hand… my son is 14 and weighs 90 lbs… I’ve seen multiple pediatric doctors who are GI specialist… I pray you find answers for your daughter because this has seriously been one of my biggest struggles as a mom not being able to help my child, and watching my child suffer…

Sounds kind of like my pancreatitis. Problem with that is you can’t usually “see an attack” your levels are usually wacky, but VERY painful. Diagnosed me at 18 too.

Take her to Mayo Clinic Hospital in MN.

Have you checked for cysts! Same problem when I was around 11 or 12. Same symptoms. They can so ultrasounds and non invasive if not alot.

I was about 28 when I figured out I didn’t just have GI issues, but I have cysts and endometriosis. Maybe see if the gyne will do a sono to rule the cysts out

Have you checked for her gallbladder? Symptoms sound very similar…

My son has CVS doctors don’t really know anything about it but she has all the symptoms lord I hope that’s not what she has it’s a horrible disease…God bless

So, for years I experienced similar… kept thinking gallbladder but it kept testing normal. Pain kept happening. Turns out it was my gallbladder just slowly going. I now have multiple gallstones (just got out of ER yesterday) and I’m scheduled for surgery. Just keep checking it, and I hope she starts feeling better

Have her tested for celiac disease.

I had the same issues went undiagnosed for 5 years… Does she have diarrhea? After she uses the bathroom does it subside? Is it only when she eats? Im asking because after 5 years i finally got diagnosed with colitis. Severe stomach pain when i eat, diarrhea, weight loss, joint pain, several trips to ER Gastroenterologist CtScans Xrays Colonoscopies All cane back normal for years. Finally i begged them nit to give me any pain meds until after the CT scan. Ct scan showed severe inflammation and infection in my intestines… Dont stop looking for answers. All this happened after having my gall bladder removed which also gave the same symtpoms.

It sounds like her gall bladder.
Poor thing.
The pain is so bad.
I had mine out at 29 and it’s the best thing I ever did.
It could possibly even be kidney stones.
I have had those and I was in excruciating pain that would go from my back to my stomach. And it would knock the wind out of me. I had to get an ambulance to hospital. I was in that much pain

Could be Endometriosis

My gallbladder bout killed me. I couldn’t eat. I lived on tea. Nothing showed up in blood work. Four different doc’s. I had a mass of infection in me. They had to cut it out. I listed alot of weight. Went to er cause of pain. Take your child some were else. They are not running the right test. They don’t see it. Hope the best for you!

I would post this to a different page- there are travel nurse facebook pages. You have to consider the collective experience of people on the internet. I am not discounting people’s experiences, but it is unlikely that you will get an accurate “diagnosis” of what ails your loved one. I am not trying to be critical by any means, I just hope that you find answers so healing can begin

IBS, constipation, dehydration, kidney stone, ulcers, growing pains, wind, poo pains, ovary issues, crohns disease, diverticulitis…and I really hate to even suggest this but dare I say it - vaginal trauma.
There’s literally so many things it could be and you have such a long road ahead figuring out what it is which is awful for everyone, no good mother or father can bare to watch their little child in pain daily :disappointed:
Keep going…you will get this figured out :white_heart:
Hope something mentioned above is helpful…

I had the same issues when I was younger and I had gallstones so bad they couldn’t see threw my gallbladder they had to do an ultrasound to see them an could only find them when I was in pain.

Sounds like what happened when I had to have my gallbladder removed.

I had similar issues when I needed my gallbladder taken out, and it did take forever and so many tests for them to finally do it.

So I just had almost all the symptoms & turns out my gallbladder had stones stuck in the neck! They misdiagnosed me several times and finally the figured it out and I’m 5 days pp of surgery & feel so much better

I would ask your primary care physician to test the function of her gallbladder.
It may not be functioning appropriately causing these issues and can happen when no stones or inflammation is present.
This is a nuclear medicine test called a HIDA scan.

Actually sounds like PANCREATITIS…to a T!
Acute pain in lower right side of body that radiates to the back accompanied by-
•vomiting
•sudden onset of pain after eating •breathing difficulties/winded
•fever

Sound familiar?

That sounds like gallbladder attacks & it’s diagnosed via ultrasound. It can also be managed until surgery by avoiding high fat foods

Praying for a doctor to help you find the answers soon. It’s the worst when they(doctors) decide it must be in your head instead of digging in and searching for the answer. Hugs and love to you and your daughter. My daughter is hypoglycemic. Causes shakiness, nausea, vomiting, fast heart rate. She was in fifth grade and cried and said I don’t want to live like this. I promised her we would find answers. Her Gyn helped more than her primary care. Now she can control symptoms by watching her diet.

Have them check her apendex

My husband had this issue, ended up being H.Pylori and also had to be dewormed, his stomach had so much bad bacteria that wiped out the good bacteria.

similar to what my daughter gets and she has a gluten allergy.

Have her tested for Lupus

Sorry but sounds like your doctor sucks! You need to find a different doctor (one that actually listens) and demand they figure it out and do as many tests as necessary, if you don’t they won’t that’s how they work nowadays :woman_shrugging:t4:

Definitely gallbladder. All my tests were negative so he went in laparscopic to explore n yes it WAS MY GALLBLADDER

Think I’d find different doctor took my daughter felt like forever to doctors I’d complain something wasn’t right they did so they said blood work urine etc she kept gaining weight like a size bigger weakly she was only in kindergarten at time finally I went doctors thru a fit insisted get referral to children’s hospital seen endonocolgist That doctor called me On Friday at 455pm he wanted her there Stat 3 days in hospital she went from 16husky in size to a 8 she was diagnosed insulin diabetic type 1 thank goodness I insisted on another opinion How In the world did her pediatrician not notice sugar in the blood or urine ??Don’t second guess see a specialist

Has she had any allergy testing? Might wanna try if not

They said my mom’s gallbladder was fine after all the test but they did an exploratory surgery after she kept pushing and found her gallbladder was completely dead and black even though the test said she was fine.

Test for an Ovarian cyst!

Gallbladder or appendix

Another thing could be her stomach lining being thinned out and causing an abscess. Or she could have ovarian cysts. I got my appendix removed after having all of these symptoms when I was 14

Has she been tested for gastroparesis? They can do a test where she eats eggs with radioactive stuff in them for the scan and some like toast. Wait to see how long it takes her body to digest it. If the food is taking too long to digest it can cause all those symptoms. I had this and it was HORRIBLE. Hoping and praying they find out what is wrong

Get her gallbladder checked. I went through something similar when I was younger. They kept sending me home from the ER. I went back 4 times. They finally admitted me but still couldn’t figure it out so tried chalking it up to “maybe she an addict” (I’ve never had issues with drug use or history of going to the dr for meds. I try to stay away from even Tylenol so I was pissed just cuz they couldn’t figure it out they were putting the blame on me like I was faking it) they wanted to send me home again after being there on a morphine drip for days until a surgeon stumbled upon my chart. He saw my ultrasound and said why is this girl going home she needs her gallbladder out like yesterday! The surgeon said I had one of the worst he’s seen. I thanked him sooo much cuz nobody else would have found that. He saved me. the pain was so horrible but after I had it removed I’ve been fine ever since. My pain was in my stomach and side. Then it started radiating to the back and even my pelvic area. I was on the floor. It felt like someone was stabbing me. I could barely eat then over time I couldn’t at all. Please get her gallbladder checked.

What about appendix, or another possibility is celiac disease, the most severe form of gluten intolerance which can include throwing up, severe pain and a host of other symptoms, google it.

It could be gallbladder my friend had issues for years never found out what was wrong until he saw a new doc and saw gallbladder was full of stones. He had GERD and IBS symptoms and sometimes had to go to hospital it was so bad.

Appendix?
Kidney stones?

Ulcers, cyst, or inflammation disease like crohn’s. My stomach hurt like that for about 6 months. Went in and Dr ran test after test nothing. Finally saw a GI Dr and was diagnosed with crohn’s and pancreas issues. Now I’m pain free!!!

Gall bladder. It took doctors FOREVER to realize that was what was wrong with my cousin. Go to a new doctor. And ask about her gall bladder.

Go to a specialist! They told me my gallbladder was fine as well, then after weeks of pain someone finally saw something they said could be gallstones and they went in for surgery and my entire gallbladder was infected!

That’s exactly what it felt like with my gallbladder and pancreatitis.

Gall bladder my wife had the same issue it took the doc a year finally decided what it was it came down to her getting in some kind of machine that turned her upside down to determine what it was after drinking some kind of fluid

Same as when I had gallbladder and they couldn’t diagnose it and kidney stones have the same feeling but way more pain, just had surgery for them last week.

I’m not sure how old she is but try detoxing and flushing!

See a naturopath. Get food allergy testing and food sensitivity testing

Gallbladder. If they’re doing the scans after the stones pass they’re not seeing them. Go to a specialist.

Also check for diverticulitis. Most of her symptoms sound very familiar.

Sounds like Crohn’s disease, I got diagnosed in my early twenties and all her symptoms sound like me! Good luck, poor girl! Referral to see a gastroenterologist?

I am a retired doctor and had the same symptoms and the same findings - “normal gallbladder”. I bullied a general surgeon into taking it out and bingo! All better.

Pancreas or gallbladder! What does she eat that night before she has pain! If it is fried food! Gall bladder or pancreas! Or diviticulitis! Eating any kind of nuts or seeds!

Has she had her stool checked to make sure she doesnt have a stomach infection. Have her pcp check her stool with a stool sample if that hasn’t been done.

Anxiety can do all of this and more.

Gallbladder or stones??

Sounds like her gallbladder. I had all of that. Took them almost a year to do the hida scan to figure out my gallbladder only had 2% life left. Once that was out I got better.

I have these symptoms and I was diagnosed with endometriosis, may thurner and pelvic congestion.

Endometriosis can give you pain daily ( it’s not just painful periods) and doesn’t show up on any scans.

I would be talking to a gyno that specialises in endo to make sure it isn’t that. She may need a laparoscopic surgery to see what’s going on. :sunflower:

Those were my symptoms when my gallbladder wasn’t working. I got sick dec 25th (great way to spend Christmas ) It took around 4 months to get the hydascan to see if it was my gallbladder because the insurance was being prudes.

I had alot of those symptoms from 11-18… took them that long to figure out it was Crohns disease. It was horrible and I feel her pain. Praying for her answers soon

Check out gastroparesis. Request a gastric empting test with a GI.

Has she checked for any hormone issues? My daughter has pcos and she gets pains like that off and on since she was a teenager. She is 20 yrs old.

My dad had that and it was appendix 23 years ago. Drs all said it was nothing for months til out almost burst. The for last two years same issue found out it was a cancer on his kidney but regular imaging didn’t catch it. Had to use contrast dye to catch it.

Ask to have a hydascan done. It tests the functioning of her gallbladder. I say this bc this is what my gallbladder done when it stopped functioning. You have to ask for it to be done

My problems turned out to being my appendix. The pain was unbearable sometimes. It finally ended up getting removed when the pain came one day and didn’t leave.

Reminds me of my gall stones, it went undiagnosed until a dr made me roll over during a sonogram, and they said, there they are, they never saw them before that.

This sounds like a friend daughter she was much younger (started when she was 3) and was finally diagnosed with diabetes when she was 6…

Make sure they checked for H-Pylori, my dad had this years back and same symptoms.

My son was the same. Every year for weeks at a time
CT scans
MRI everything under the sun
Then we covid happen it never happen
Then year two covid again nothing
This year nothing
Stresss of hockey try outs

Either appendix or gulbladder

Maybe check her gallbladder as well

Read about some one who took years to discover debilitating pain in a valve somewhere that functions with ducts around the gall bladder and bile.

You’re kidding me right…are you really asking social media this question?? Kinda like asking Google, you’re going to get a million different answers and a trillion scenarios. Social media diagnosis is not the answer. Get professional help. :woman_shrugging:t3:

It could be in the kidneys as well it radiates to the abdomen and back

Time to see a specialist…

Has she been checked for ovarian cysts? I have struggled with them for years. I always felt the pain on my right sides and it would take me down and out for a few days at a time.

Appendix or gallbladder. Just got surgery for appendicitis 2 days ago and that was the pain I had. It was horrible.

Push to have them do a hida scan. I had similar symptoms and when I had the scan done, it was determined it was my gallbladder. It was decreased and working at roughly 12%.

My daughter at 5 had similar issues, so they put a camera down her throat and found a polyp in her abdomen, removed it and she’s been fine since, She’s 14 now

Have they done ultrasound on her gallbladder? I’ve been experiencing same thing. Was told I had gastritis, only to go to gastro doctor and be told my symptoms were more related to gallstones. Demand specialists and second and third opinions. Good luck, hope you find answers soon:heart::pray:

When I was a child my mom took me to numerous doctors, urgent care places and childrens hospitals. Had so many tests done. I had a lot of those very same symptoms. A hematologist ran a full panel on me and I had strep in my blood. After just a few days of being on antibiotics, I started feeling better. I would take her to a childrens hemotologist. There could be something in her blood.

Check in to see if it’s gluten intolerance. My husband was the same. They couldn’t find anything. I believe it’s a special way to check for gluten intolerance. Unbearable pain when he ate gluten. Make a food diary and keep it handy to show doctors if need to.

A friends dd is 10 and has similar episodes and us in hospital for a few days each time. Everything is scanned and tested, not periods, kidneys, appendix, gallbladder etc. if it can cause pain it’s been checked and they still don’t know

For five years I had pain on my right side.they could find nothing so they did an exploratory operation to find my appendix was enlargened and not where it was supposed to be. I was told it was a good thing they checked because if it would have been acute appendicitis - it would have burst before they could get to it. No more pain. That was in 1966 - My 15th birthday

Could be gallbladder/gallstones I - sounds similar to my symptoms before I had mine removed.

Certainly sounds like gallbladder issues. I would get bloodwork done again and a second opinion.

Have they tested for celiac disease?

My daughter had almost identical symptoms. And every test done showed nothing. Finally she had a colonoscopy and they found that she was severely constipated. And it had gotten worse over time because after a year she had pockets that were impacted in her colon. They cleaned her out changed her diet. Had her take Metamucil daily she was 16 when it started and 17 once they figured it out

My son had that . We discovered it was a form of childhood migraine

Get a 2nd and a 3rd opinion.
If you do not get answers, get a 4th and 5th opinion. Keep going to Doctors/Specialists until you get some kind of answer.
