Best place to get ear piercing done?

Wait until she’s old enough to ask for ear piercings herself. But I would avoid piercing guns.

A professional piercer would be ideal. It’s the only place you know will be sterile but most will not touch a child that young with a needle. Don’t go anywhere that uses a gun (Walmart and Claire’s) guns hold bacteria. Some pediatricians do it because they know if you go anywhere with a gun you will most likely get an infection.

Tattoo and piecing shop

I had mine done with I was younger. Every time I had to take them out cause I was allergic. I refuse to do my daughters until she is old enough and understands what has to be done.

Tattoo shop. The guns used can cause trauma to the ear and cant be cleaned/sterilized

So glad this isn’t posted in my mom’s group I’m in because people can speak their minds here about situations like this without being banned.

I truly think it’s so POINTLESS to get a babies ears pierced, they didn’t ask for it, it’s literally just for you to look at, doesn’t benefit baby at all so why cause them unnecessary pain?

I took my daughter at 3 months to clairs. She’s 13 months now still has them pierced and I’ve never had a problem with them

I don’t know what the big deal is, in some cultures and traditions they pierce the baby ears as soon as possible. I rather my mom would have done it when I was younger cause all I did was messed with it when I got it done at 7 :woman_shrugging::woman_shrugging: I agree a needle in a tattoo parlor is better, although a piercing gun is acceptable for just the lobules

I mean, y’all trolls realize the question was between either gun or needle. Nowhere did it ask for y’all opinions on whether she should get it done… like y’all really annoying as hell. :woman_facepalming:t2:
Someone said “oh I guess her body/choice only applies when a woman can speak?” Like Damn Linda we’re talking about getting ears pierced not about having her exploit her babies body. Like y’all bugging.

Oh and guess what. I had my ears pierced when I was 3 months old and I can assure you I don’t remember it let alone suffer from traumatization. :joy::joy::joy: sit down and eat a popsicle all you bitter cornballs. It’ll make you happy- because you know, popsicles are “food” for the soul.

Tattoo place… They are professionals

I dont think shes asking if you agree with the choice to pierce the ears or not! Shes asking where to go. If y’all dont have anything nice just scroll

Tattoo shop but they won’t do it at 3 months if they’re a reputable place

I was an assistant manager at Claire’s and the gun that is used is 100% sterile no skin ever touches the gun for 1. The metals people pick is what causes infection. You go cheap and you will get infected no matter where you go. 2 getting ears pierced before 2 or 3 can cause the holes to be in bad placement as the babies grow their lobes grow with them causing the piercing to move which can end up looking bad when older. Most places wont pierce under 6 months as was our policy when I worked at claire’s and even then we cautioned moms until age 3. If you are dead set on it do not ever buy anything plated bc your body especially when trying to heal will eat through the metal and the nickel underneath is what causes most people to react. I myself have several piercings by guns and needles and my body just rejects metals period I can only use bioplast jewelry.

I like how she asked opinions on where she could get it done safely for her child and everyone decided she needed their opinion on whether its child abuse or not😂
Quit judging other mom’s so much and putting everyone down because you do things differently!

We took her pediatrician. They did it in office, I felt that was the safest alternative. Our daughter was 6 months.

No where until she is old enough to ask. If you insistence on doing it against their will a tattoo shop.

Some people are acting like she wants to cut off a limb or something. It hurts for 5 minutes and it’s done. This is actually a cultural thing for some people. How many of you have sons that were circumcised without your baby’s consent ?

It’s your child. If she ends up not wanting them pierced she can take them out later in life. I’d rather get them pierced young easier to care for when they’re younger and can’t pull them out. I’d go to a tattoo shop and get them done. You can always call and ask them what age they will piece them.

My mum had my ears pierced, with a gun, as a new born. Never had issues she said.
My daughter I waited for her to be school age. She wanted them done. And I waited a few more months and did it for her bday. Turned out she has an allergy to certain metals. So we removed and let them heal. She was sad and still wanted them. Once they fully healed, we had them redone, no issues. She just had second holes done last year for her birthday.
I personally, chose to wait until she was old enough to want them. Understand how it was done and that its painful, as well as alot of responsibility to keep clean and turn often. I also had her watch me get my lip pierced.:rofl:

Always got to a professional that has clean supplies and is trained

https://www.safepiercing.org/safe_piercing_faq.php#FAQ

Why? That is unnecessary pain.

Tattoo shop…but most wont do it till she is old enough to say she wants it…usually around 5

Go to a professional. Anyone with a punch gun is NOT a professional.

Please go to a tattoo/piercing shop and have it done. They are way safer than claire’s or any place like that in the mall.

Look for a tattoo place that will do it, or a Dr. that will do it. I had my daughters done when she was 3 months and she loves her earrings, she’s 3 now.

I would 1st like to say : TO EACH THIER OWN!! My gma did mine at 8 months old and I son’t remember a damn thing. Just like shots gals except you have to be diligent about cleaning. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with this. My mom waited with my sisters and they wishing that they had them done sooner rather than later. Yeah yeah they got the choice ik either way to each their own. Hate people bashing over s pretty simple question. If you dont agree either dont comment OR actually come up with some good advice.

Go to a tattoo shop that does piercings as well they are certified to do so. DO NOT GO TO CLAIRE’S/ICINGS or a little pagoda thing at the mall they SUCK big time. And I was older when I got those particular peircings.

Tattoo shop. You wouldn’t get your ears pierced with a gun, so why should a child?
All of their equipment is sterile/brand new. But, keep in mind that certain jewelry can make them reject it. I can ONLY use titanium piercings. Most tattoo shops won’t do it until a certain age though.
Also, babies ears are not done growing at 3 months. So, the holes may look messed up when they’re older.

Please do it professionally, my mom thought she was gonna do mine and ended up double piercing my left ear, the earrings would slide right through if they were studs

The guns just have them do both at once

Let me just say as a child that got her ears pierced when I was little I grew up and ended up being allergic to certain metals and I’m 23 and don’t even wear earrings and never really have. Honestly I’m waiting until my daughter can voice that it’s what she wants. Because had I been given the choice I wouldn’t have wanted them done.

I would go to the mall. Like clarse or Wal-Mart I would personally go to Wal-Mart because they are very nice and gintel

Most pediatricians will do them. The few tattoo parlors I talked to, including the one I go to wont do them until the child is six in my area at least.

I took my daughter to Claire’s after talking with a professional piercer at a tattoo shop and she had taken her kids to Claire’s. They way she explains is at the tattoo shop you have to be comfortable holding her so she doesnt move and it’s not a fast process as the gun they use at Claire’s the needle goes in then they take it out to put the earring and then repeat for the other ear. Pain wise she reccomend clairs because the gun is faster and places the earring in one shot less pain for the baby.

The best way to go is with a tattoo shop but it will be hard to find one that will do it on a baby less than a year okd

I went to claires! But my daughter is very allergic to anything that isn’t sterling silver, so it literally created a bigger hole in her ear that was like fussy and wouldn’t heal until I quit putting earrings in so just try to stick to Sterling!!

Needle for sure! Any tattoo shop can do it but research good ones in your area. My 14 yr had her 2nd hole done at our local shop and loved it. Her first hole was when she was like 4 using a gun and it was horrible. I didn’t know any better back then. When my 5 yr old is ready, we’ll be going back to the tattoo shop

My childs pediatrician did hers. Maybe check and see if yours does as well

My daughter was 7 months. Her doctor doesn’t do it so we went to piercing pagoda in the mall. We’ve never had a problem. I wanted it done young so she was used to them once she became a toddler and she never touched them.

Tattoo place is safer, cleaner, and more sterile, they also have more knowledge on what they are doing.
The gun doesn’t allow you to be able to clean it properly and the same gun is used on multiple people!

Tattoo shop!!! It’s cleaner, it’s safer! If you’re going to do anything it’s best to have a professional do it, not some teenager working part time in the mall

All tattoo places by me won’t do. So my twins will go to clares like the rest of my girls lol. I have all my piercings done there and never had an issue.

Don’t do it until a bit older.

I would say go to a tattoo shop but I’m in Illinois and I have yet to find a tattoo shop that will do it under 5 years old… too much chance of infection with a gun so my girls will b waiting until they are 5

Go to a tattoo shop! Go to a professional! I got my 5 month old’s ears pierced and had a wonderful experience. They cleaned and marked her ears to make sure they were even and used sterling silver earrings to make sure she wouldn’t have a reaction from cheap nickel. My baby hardly felt it and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the experience. They even gave us a cleaning solution to avoid infection. Far better than a teenager from Claire’s with no idea what she’s doing with a gun that could hurt a squirming baby.

My daughter’s pediatrician did hers when she was 6months old

I took my youngest to Claire’s and it went great. We didnt have any issues. We got them done at 6 months and shes 2.5 now.

I’m not really for causing children, especially infants unnecessary pain, especially for purely cosmetic reasons. But if you absolutely must, please go to a tattoo shop with a licensed piercer. The blunt force trauma from piercing guns is terrible and causes the wound to take a lot longer to heal, rather than having them done with actual piercing needles.

Why are so many “angry”?

People that dont have a solid understanding of piercings recommend Claire’s. Please don’t go there. Go to a professional. That means professional piercer or pediatrician. You are taking a huge chance going anywhere else for a crappy punch piercing.

Don’t go to a place that uses the gun, definitely a professional piercer

I took my daughter at 4 months old to a tattoo place. They were awesome!

Tattoo/Piercing shops are better, safer and more sanitary

The guns are terrible but no reputable tattoo shop will pierce babies ears. If the shop is willing to do it I can almost guarantee you it’s not a sterile environment or they’re not on the up and up

My vote is NOT to pierce a baby’s ears, let her decide that for herself…

Tattoo/Piercing studio is the ONLY place you should take them, piercing guns are not safe nor clean no matter what they tell you.

Wish y’all would stfu. She said where should she get her baby’s ears pierced not what you think about getting them done

I’d say tattoo place just bc they will make sure they are even.

I use to pierce ears for years took class and was certified. The gun never touches the child ear. They have a separate piece with the earring in it that fits into the gun its sterile in a plastic sealed container till the customer purchases them. I pierced my own daughters ears. But its up to you you are her mother. I was just giving alittle insight into the piercing guns. They are sterile…

Piercing guns cause blunt force trauma to the earlobe. Talk to an actual piercer.

That being said I’m not a fan of piercing babies ears. Heard too many stories about them tearing at them.

I’ll never understand why forcing a child to go throughout unnecessarily pain for something you want is so popular

I would say a tattoo shop or a professional piercer!

I would recommend a tatoo shop. The people that work at mall stores aren’t really professionals.

I would say go to a professional. And to really think about it! You have plenty of time for her to get her ears pierced!

Piercing guns can shatter the ear cartilage

Tattoo shop wont do them till she’s at least six … well. Any good one anyways

I pierced my daughters at 5 months and went to Piercing Pergoda at. a kiosk in the mall. She is 3 now and no issues

All the mad ppl on here are probably the same ones that get their baby boys circumsized. Hypocrites

Teach her she’s beautiful without having to modify her body to meet your standard of beauty.

She won’t remember the actual event of getting her ears pierced but it is engrained as a trauma in her brain. By piercing a young girls ears or any body modification you are teaching her that in order to be pretty, cute, beautiful or whatever adjective you will use to describe her pierced ears she has to endure pain. Her brain will connect pain with beauty & the feeling of being wanted.

I personally wait until they ask but it’s your baby and nobody can tell you different. The best place to go is a tattoo shop. Do not take her anywhere that they use a gun.

You don’t. The baby is 3 months old. No one in there right mind would piece an infant’s ears

I got my daughters done when she was 3 months old by a place in the mall called piercing pagoda. They used sterile one time use guns and they were professionally trained to do them. My daughter didn’t even cry til she was done.

Tattoo shop are the best way to go

Some people seem confused. The question was not “SHOULD I get my child’s ears pierced” it was “WHERE/WHAT METHOD is better”

If you aren’t going to answer the question… don’t respond at all.

Guns aren’t sterile, piercing specialist is better and there is no loud noise to startle your little.

Tattoo is cleaner than those guns

I know tattoo shops here will pierce until they are 4 months old. And then they won’t pierce until they are 4. Needle is by far a way better option then a gun. And I would suggest calling around to tattoo parlours

Tattoo shop! Apperently half these ladies cant read:roll_eyes::roll_eyes: your asking an opinion on WHERE to get them done not IF. Dont listen to them its your child

I got my ears pierced with a gun many times and the pain wasn’t bad. Until one time when the gun got jammed. Hurt sooo bad. I don’t know how often that happens, but it didn’t feel good.

My child got hers pierced at 6 years old (she is now 13) at a body piercing shop. My niece got hers done at Claire’s with a gun. My daughter healed 100% better and faster than my nieces. My daughters are even, my niece has 1 higher than the other. My daughters actual hole is completely straight, my niece has to put her earrings in slanted. I absolutely have no regrets in taking my kid to have it done professionally and would do it again. Actually I will be doing it again soon for my youngest daughter. Good luck!
