Best place to get ear piercing done?

Pure vanity and cosmetic. Let her choose for herself when shes older.

Tattoo shop. Do not go to any place at a mall, Claire’s, etc. Domt go anywhere that uses a gun

Why would someone want to pierce a baby’s ears?? It’s such a fun milestone when you are old enough to ask for it and remember the experience.

I think the decision is with the parents. To each their own. We have 2 daughters both got their ears pierced at like 4 months old. Their pediatrician does them.

Tattoo place, but most places may want to wait until they are older. I decided to wait until my daughter ask for her ears to be pierced, then I’ll take her to a professional. Guns are so unsanitary and the piercings are more likely to be uneven.

Please go to a tattoo shop!

I would go to a tattoo shop

Needle, from a reputable tattoo parlor.

Some pediatrician offices do it. Do not use a gun. They cannot be cleaned properly, so every1 who has ever had their ear pierced with that gun germs will be transferred to her. You’ll be hard pressed to find a professional piercer who will pierce a 3m old but that’s your best bet

Ask your pediatrician!! They’re doing it in office in most places now!! If not go to a professional who knows how to deal with babies!! Good luck momma!!

Different cultures different social norms…

Just saying go to a reputable professional, needle is waaay less painful then a gun. My over dramatic 4 year old only said ow when she got them done with a needle.

seriously a tattoo place is so much better than any gun place. secondary would be pediatrician

Usually tattoos places wont do that young.

Tattoo shop is better the needle is less damage to the ear and doesn’t hurt as bad but depending on where you live there’s probably laws against it. I will never have my kids ears pierced with the gun again. My state you can’t get em done at a tattoo shop till 13 though.

My tattoo shop was happy to at that age, if you can’t get it done there I suggest waiting until you can. The gun causes damage to the ear. My daughters was done at three months.

People are ridiculous saying she shouldn’t until she’s old enough to say on her own. Leave her alone. You don’t have to for your child. I waited until my daughter was old enough but it would of been better if I had done when she was a baby. I got mine done with a gun when I was a child no problems except I can’t wear that fake jewelry but I have been told it’s better with the needle and that’s how my daughter got hers done. Good luck mama

I went to Walmart :woman_shrugging: they look amazing and the lady was super sweet ! She definitely took her time and made sure everything was sterile and placement was right !

"Piercing guns can not be sterilized because they are made of plastic. … Even if a piercing gun is wiped off with an antiseptic wipe, there’s still a risk of spreading diseases (think hepatitis and staph infections) after multiple use

Personally I am waiting for my girls to make there own choice to get them done. If you choose to pierce your babies ears though…TAKE THEM TO A TATTOO SHOP!!! Even my kids pediatrician recommended this! Guns have been proven to be more harmful than not, are usually not sterilized properly if at all, more painful than just doing it with a needle and the people who are doing it generally only have minimal training at best. It depends on the tattoo shop at the age but generally you can find one who will do it for 3 months and up.

Do WHAT U WISH WITH YOUR CHILD!! I DONT RECALL U ASKING IF U SHOULD PIERCE HER EARS,people need to QUIT telling other parents what to do with their kid. And btw pediatrician may be able to do it,mine does.

Guns are bad. Find someone to do needles. More sanitary

Definitely a piercing shop, however most reputable piercers won’t pierce a child’s ears until they are old enough to understand its their body and verbally agree to it.
My daughter asked from 2-3 and finally got them for her 3rd birthday after making sure she understood :slightly_smiling_face:
But your the momma! My sister got hers done at 3months and liked them as a young girl but not at 15 doesn’t wear them too often :woman_shrugging:t2:

You need to go to a professional not some on the spot trained teen at the mall.

Tattoo studio piercings guns are terrible. They are not sanitary plus the jewellery they use doesnt allow for there little ears to swell causing problems

Actually, the piercing gun causes trauma to the the tissue if the ear. A tattoo shop uses a needle because it has less of a chance to cause trauma but I don’t believe they will perform it on a three month old. The most they can say is no. But as I’m now in training to be a nurse, I wish I had known now what I didn’t know then. Both of my girls were pierced with a gun and never had any issues with their piercings but it depends on the human.

The ear nose throat doctor at the children’s hospital does them here. But I would suggest going to a tattoo and piercing place where they don’t use a gun as those shatter the cartledge and cause scar tissue are more likely to be rejected and see infections.

My 4 year old wanted her ears pierced. I decided that tattoo shop was best but when I went in there they said they wouldn’t do any child under 7 so you might find a tattoo shop won’t do it x

Tattoo parlor but please don’t do it. Too young. Let her make the decision when she gets older

Oh, wow. I didn’t realize that was your choice. Hm.

Tattoo shop. They have correct piercing equipment and training. And why just stop at ears when modifying your babies body? They can also do lips and noses and anything you choose to do to your child for no medical reason whatsoever!

Took my daughter to her pediatrician. Of course that was 26yrs ago, sooooooo…

Tattoo shop. They are professionals ! They also use hollow needles instead of banging a half sharp blunt ear ring thru your babies ear lobe. So taking her to a shop will be safer for her and the healing will naturally occur and the risk of infection is reduced ! I would never trust some unlicensed rando to put a ear ring in my kids ears . especially with such blunt force :grimacing::flushed: . good luck momma

Some pediatricians will do it in the clinic.

And and also . y’all a bunch of judgmental ass bitches :unamused: unless its your child . stfu! She asked for an opinion on where the best place to do it at was . not if you believed in it . give her the answers she ASKED for . or keep scrolling . jfc dude . this is why moms are so stress ! We are judged for any and EVERY thing . 🤦 go back to your helicopter

Take her to a professional tattoo/piercing place.

I don’t have daughters so maybe it’s just me but isn’t 3months old really young for ear piercings? I’m not judging I’m just confused

tattoo parlor. i feel like everywhere else is very unsanitary

There is always a risk with any piercing. Some doctors surgeries do them and you can guarentee they’re trustable
Tattoo places and shops like unicorn have had a lot of issues lately in our town. I would make zure you go to a place that has been going for a long time, experienced, with recent hygiene certificates etc. Make sure they clean the gun beforehand and that you get to see the ear rings and needle of you go for that optiin taken out of the packets.
Piercings can bring on a nasty shock, even heart attacks depending on health. So make zure she gets a check up beforehand.

Most pediatricians do it at the office.

I took my daughter to walmart… she was 6 months old and they did just fine.

Have a professional piercer in a tattoo shop do it. Piercing guns are more likely to cause infection, trauma, and have slower healing compared to a hollow needle. Piercing guns can’t be fully sanitized and the only part that’s sanitary is the cartridge, not the actual gun.

Depends where you live and the options available to you. I’m a beautician and hairdresser, and I have done ear piercings on babies as young as 3 months old with a piercing gun. Who ever does it for you, make sure they are safe and have their certificates to prove they can do it. They must be hygienic with gloves and with sterile studs that were still in original packaging before piercing. Good luck.

Guns are really dangerous. They’re don’t Pierce the ear they tear the hold which is more painful, takes longer to heal, and can cause their ears to reject the piercings. They also can not be sanitized properly EVER and can cause serious infections. Never ever use a piercing gun. It’s way safer to go to a tattoo/piercing shop and have them do it. They’re trained, know proper cleaning and safety, and have don’t it hundreds of not thousands of times. Plus the earrings they use will be a better quality and sterile. Using the needles to Pierce is faster, safer, cleaner, heals faster, and a lot less likely of complcation

Professional piercing place! Not Walmart or Claire’s with guns. It shatters the cartilage. I highly suggest James Dunn or Arianna at Piercing Perfection but I’m doubtful they will do it that young

I took my daughter when she was 2 1/2 months old. I took her to an ear piercing place in the mall. Very quick with the gun.

Go to a tattoo shop please! Dont go to some teenager at a Claire’s with no training. And yes, they will pierce a kid’s ears.

Tattoo shop your very familiar with. Piercing guns are scary, more prone to infection.

Most tattoo shops have an age requirement but they’re recommended. Some pediatricians can pierce ears I’ve been told

My daughters got pierced ears when they turned 13. Kinda a right to teen passage.

Tattoo shops will not pierce babies ears. They wont until the child is about 5. Guns are the worst thing to pierce with. Please wait until shes older.

Depending on where you’re from. You’ll need proof of health checkup.

Check with a pediatrician they do it sometimes

Needle no gun. Gun uses blunt force to tear skin. Needle is sharp. If you have a hard knot in your ear, it’s from piercing gun. Needle is way more sterile.

A tattoo place that has a piercer on site. They are the most sterile and trained to make body modifications. NEVER go to a place with a piercing gun!

Why not wait until your baby is older like say a preteen and take her to get it done so she can have the experience and a kinda right of passage? A mother daughter bonding moment for you both.

With the baby - i would wait for the skin on a baby grows fast and could grow over the earring back - did to me. Awful - they had cut them out. But if you want them be sure to loosen them and keep an eye on them too. Ok - i think walmart will do it. I know a high end shop in the malls do it. Clare’s in malls does it.

Never understood piercing a baby’s ear.

tattoo place, guns are dangerous to get ur ears pierced with, they mess up your ears if done wrong

At 3 months old her doctor may do it in the office

Your pediatrician might be able to do this.

depends on the state, some states will not do it that young

Oh and go with gold or silver earrings - no stainless steel - it causes reaction in babies

Some pediatricians will do it in office

A tattoo place I herd is way better

…or you could wait ?

I think to young. all my girls, got to decide that for them selves.

Tattoo place for sure.

Don’t do that. If you have to, go to a doctor.

Piercing/tatt shop all the way.

Your babies pediatrician does it

Are you serious? Every person, who wants some thing pierced or a tattoo…must decide this for themselves. Did it ever don on you that your 3-month old may never want this B.S.?

Some of the pediatricians will do it in their office

Claire’s is very good

Pediatrician office does it.

Definitely go to a tattoo shop!

I personally would wait, but because that’s not what you asked, I’d say a tattoo parlor. I’ve looked into it and ear piercing guns cause trauma to the skin. The way tattoo shops pierce is different and will not cause trauma.

I would suggest a piercing shop because they use the correct needles, unlike piercing guns. In a shop they use hollow needles to remove some skin and make room for the earring. A gun does not remove any skin and it damages the skin in order to make room from the jewelry creating scar tissue and discomfort.

Tattoo shop would be more sanitary but I don’t think they’d do it that young. Plus waiting til they’re older so they can decide if they even want them pierced or not wouldn’t be a bad idea so they can actually remember it & have that memory with you. I would never tell someone what to do with their kid but I really don’t understand how some parents could put their small babies under such unnecessary pain & the weeks of healing. Plus waiting til they’re older can help with responsibility by having them remember to clean them themselves. Getting them done so young also has a greater chance of them turning out crooked as they grow & babies are always grabbing their faces, I’d be terrified of them getting yanked on or infected. Not bashing anyone who has gotten their babies ears pierced, just some food for thought!

I would recommend a tattoo shop or your pediatrician. Some of these comments are absolutely mind blowing! Under 12 months is not likely to lead to infection or sepsis. And definitely not fatal. :flushed::exploding_head: I have 3 girls and they all had their ears pierced. The benefits of piercing young is your babies ears is you take care of them. You’re responsible for cleaning properly and your child is too young to constantly touch her fresh piercings. (Which is where infection comes from btw) 6 weeks. Healed and never have to worry about it again. Good luck mama!

A lot of tattoo shops dont do it. My daughters doctors office does ear piercings once a week. So awesome!

I was against her getting her ears pierced as an infant. But i talked to her doctor when i saw they did piercings there, and he told me it usually is better to do them when they’re young. Less likely to get infected because infants dont mess with them as much. Easier to keep clean. So we decided to do it. She barely cried for a second! Whole thing was over in like 2 minutes. So glad we did it! Plus the extra bonus of being in the comfort of her doctors office!

Best bet is to call around and ask. However I highly recommend an actual piercing artist, not a gun, if they will do it. The guns cannot be properly sanitized.

My daughter got hers at 5 months. I got mine done earlier then that and same with my sister and mother. Some people just like to wine about when a kids ears should be done. All of ours were fine! In the end it’s the parents choice not the public’s.

Most tattoo shops will not pierce a child under a certain age. That varies by shop but the youngest I’ve seen is five. Piercing babies is not a good idea. Piercing children under teenage is not a good idea.

Ear piercings can lead to infection and sepsis is more likely to happen to children under 12 months old. It’s likely fatal. Personally, to me it’s not worth the risk because you think it’s visually pleasing. And I would wait till she can make that decision for herself. But that’s just me, I’m a big fan of letting people consent to what they want to do with their bodies.

Oh my gosh some of y’all just need to STOP. Her baby her decision. Check with pedi and see if they pierce ears because mine does. If you want to ask if it’s safe you can for your peace of mind.

Ps it’s your baby, therefore it’s your call!! Don’t let anyone scare you out of doing anything for your babes!

Tattoo shop with a needle. Many places will require consent from child but some shops will do infants. Just do your research.

But don’t do the Piercing gun.

I took mine to Claire’s. They use the gun. Sometimes they’ll have two people do it at the same time. My daughter is a big cry baby and she did fine. As long as you keep it clean and put the solution on them they will be fine. Its according what type of earrings you pick out too

Don’t listen to the judgemental mothers on here- do what you want to do! Its not a tattoo, it is ear piercing! My daughters ears were pierced at 6 months old. If she doesn’t like them, she can take them out.

Moms, seriously. She did not ask for anyone’s approval or advice on whether she should do it or not. She made her choice and asked for recommendations on where to do it. If your opinion has to do with anything other than that, shut it.

Wait until the child is ole enough to make the decision. My parents did mine at 6 weeks and turns out I’m allergic to anything but gold & my parents let it get infected without knowing. Just be careful. If you DO do it, go to a rep tattoo shop that’s CLEAN.
