UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Pa

I’m in Indiana we have Riley’s children’s hospital it’s great

There’s a children’s hospital in St. Petersburg FL, and it’s a few of the same medical hospitals in Boston and other states… John Hopkins. Which is the top children’s hospital in the US. I would consider looking into those hospital and which states they have them in and what works best for you.

To be honest, I’ve found that California has an AMAZING children’s hospital. Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital is where 2 of my 3 kids were born and it’s awesome! The only problem being… The rest of the state sucks lol

Omaha Nebraska has a specialty children’s hospital. My daughter has seizures and that’s who we deal with

Texas!!! Houston has an amazing childrens hospital and there are smaller surrounding areas that are affordable cost of living.

WI. Has Children’s hospital so Wauwatosa or Brookfield would be close and good suburb to live in.

We live in central NC about 20mins from Duke hospital and their childrens hospital is AMAZING. Housing is relatively cheap.

Indiana, Riley hospital for children :raised_hands:t3: amazing people there

SSI is a federal program so that won’t matter which state you are in. You’ll just call social security to notify them of the move.

Great children’s hospital in Gainesville, UF Health Shands, but Florida itself sucks:joy::woman_facepalming:t3: super expensive to live and work, and my cleftie was denied SSI disability twice.

Springfield, IL area has a great cost of living and St Louis is just across the river with a great Children’s Hospital.

Stlouis has a good children’s hospital but u could live with in a hour of there and still have everything u need

Dallas Tx. Great children’s hospital
Excellent for SSI and at least 1Costco

Not Florida. Awful state for special needs kiddos and no Medicaid expansion. No state taxes = less resources.

Colorado has a lot of resources but also expensive. Some states pay parents. California has a program similar.

I live just north of Louisville. It’s a good area as you have. Norton Childrens in Louisville, Riley Childrens in Indianapolis, and Cincinnati childrens that are all easily accessible.

Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL is great. I wouldn’t want to live in B’ham but there are some good places just right outside B’ham.

Johnson city, tn has a childrens hospital and a sams club no costco unfortunately

Connecticut Childrens is an AMAZING childrens hospital. Their cardiology unit I cannot praise enough. My son is also a cardiac baby (first heart surgery was at 2 weeks).

But, Connecticut itself kinda sucks. Taxes are just horrible.
But there are costcos here.

Mobile Alabama great children’s hospital also Ronald McDonald house by it!

There are smaller towns outside of mobile could live but be close

Childrens in milwaukee wi is good I’ve had to take my son there. And there’s plenty of smaller suburbs outside the city to live if city life isn’t your thing. There is Costco and Sam’s.

Coastal Virginia. We have the best heart hospital in the country and it just so happens to be right next to one of the top rated children’s hospitals. Hospital of the Kings Daughters.

Michigan and Ohio have good children’s hospitals and University of Michigan hospital is also great.

Alabama got a couple of the states best childrens care hospital. One in north bama and one in the south alabama in mobile which has couple of Costco

So vague. But Florida is great Vitamin Sea good for most everything.
Good luck

I don’t live in Texas but I know they have e one of the absolute best children’s hospitals. Don’t come to NM because we do not. Cost of living isn’t bad, we have costco, it’s beautiful, amazing weather, and a huge majority of families get free daycare for the next year. In return our schools are horrible, violent crime is insane, and a huge homeless population.

Iowa City, Iowa! University of Iowa Children’s Hospital :black_heart::yellow_heart:

Iowa. Price of living is low, good education, and two amazing children’s hospitals. University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City and Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.

Delaware. No sales tax. And has the A.I.DuPont childrens hospital. Also all children with disabilities or health issues automatically are given state medical insurance. As for ssi i dont know id imagine it’d be no different than anywhere else. I got my child’s through Pennsylvania and all I have to do is report my income monthly bc of the job I have but previous job they monitored it. Only difference now is I’m self employed. Delaware was our go to but we were unable to bc my husband didn’t find work there so we ended up in Maryland. I’m still working out some kinks with things but it’s not bad here.

I’m in maine. Portland has a really good children’s department called Barbara Bush children’s hospital its located in maine medical center which is a cardiac hospital. Portlands 2 hrs from boston/ Boston children’s for more severe things. We don’t have a Costco atm but there’s one being propose to be built a couple towns over. We have sams/bjs currently. Schools are great in most towns in maine. Good family environment. Most say it’s a slower way of life up here then most places. I wouldn’t really know the difference bc iv lived here my whole life. But I do see it when we have traveled.

Boston Massachusetts #1 children’s hospital 9 year’s in a row we also have Costco and BJ’s SSID is good too

Cincinnati, Ohio has one of the top Children’s Hospitals. There are many suburbs where the cost of living is very reasonable. Plus, you’re only about 45-50 from Dayton Children’s and about an hour and a half from Columbus.
Our kiddos have chronic health issues and have seen/still see many specialists at both Cincinnati and Dayton.
Cincinnati has several satellite campuses as well, which makes it very convenient for care.
Feel free to message me with any questions. I’m from a suburb about 30 minutes north of Cincinnati and about 30 minutes from Dayton

I would say Columbus Ohio.
We have 3 Costcos, quite a few Children’s Hospitals, and the Ronald McDonald House of Charities by the central and main one.

Boston. Has one the best in the country

Iowa. The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is the best ever. They are a Nationally ranked children’s hosptial. And home to the “Wave” college football tradition where every University of Iowa home football game the entire stadium, coaches and players all turn to the hospital (which part overlooks the field) and everyone waves to the kids during the end of the 1st quarter watching in the hospital. They also have a “kid captain” program with the Hawkeye football team and the hosptial too:yellow_heart::black_heart::yellow_heart:. The Hawkeye Wave – University of Iowa Athletics

We do have Cosco and cost of living on Iowa is very reasonable.

St. Louis
The children’s hospital is amazing. They are always answering all my questions and never get tired of us. They even worked miracles for my sister who has a tumor before she turned 18. Both my kids get SSI, they have autism and it was so easy to get it for them.

California. California has amazing services for children with special needs. They have programs most other states don’t have. If you receive media, the parent can be a paid provider (depending on the child’s medical need) and theres no wait for Medicaid services here unlike a lot of other states. There’s Costco everywhere and many good children’s hospital in the San Francisco bay area, Sacramento, LA, San Diego… Basically anywhere

Kansas City Missouri and surrounding areas. We have Children’s Mercy which are awesome. My daughter’s autistic with sensory issues. They work with her wonderfully. I was able to get her SSI in less than 2 months from application and its not that expensive to live here. I used to live in Florida and it was a pain to get any help and expensive to live

Be happy and be safe:heart::heart:

Everyone saying Boston, she said less expensive than Georgia, which is pretty cheap in GA. Outside of Boston apartments are over $2000 a month, most of them closer to $2500. The hospital is great though. SSI benefits travel with you, you do not have to switch over.

We live in northwest Indiana about an hour from Chicago and 2 hours from Indy. I, myself, was a regular patient as a child at University of Chicago-Comer and wouldn’t hesitate to ever bring my child or refer anyone there for anything major. Since I was high risk, I actually saw a MFM throughout my pregnancy as well as delivered there. The hour+ drive is worth it🤍

Don’t move to Arkansas because the Healthcare is horrible.

U of M children’s hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan is one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation and Michigan is a beautiful place to live with a lot of natural beauty and things to do.

Indiana has Riley’s and low cost of living. My kids surgery was there and I loved them. A friend has kids with the same conditions as yours and loves her doctors at Riley’s. Their Medicaid is great. I’m in another state now, but the cost of living is stupid.

Living in Kentucky is affordable, we have Costco and specifically in Lexington you are an hour from Cincinnati Childrens. There are also amazing pediatric cardiologists in Lexington, my son attended the heart institute for the first two years of his life for a defect and they were phenomenal.

My dad lives in Barnesville! But I would recommend NC with Duke. And Texas Childrens hospital in Dallas is another amazing one! I’m a T1 diabetic since I was 2 yrs old so I grew up at university childrens hospitals and my family moved pretty often with my dads job. By far I loved Duke and Dallas.

My kiddo is special needs. Houston tx is where it’s at and the childrens hospitals are FANTASTIC

Anywhere near Hershey Pennsylvania. Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is nationally ranked for pediatric cardiology among other things. Hershey itself is expensive to live but you can find a lot of great little towns surrounding it that are cheap. There is a Costco in Harrisburg which is only roughly 30 mins from the hospital. My daughter has a genetic defect with lots or complications and Hershey Children’s has been amazing!
