I had my daughter March 15th, she’s 2 months old. I’ve been breastfeeding & me & my SO have had unprotected sex i was just curious if it is at all possible I could be pregnant. I haven’t started my period yet & it worries me. My grandmother has said since I’m breastfeeding I won’t be ovulating which would mean I can’t get pregnant. I’m not on birth control yet bc my pp appt isnt until the 29th. I didn’t breastfeed with my first so I don’t know a whole lot about it other than what I know now.

I think it’s the first six months it helps with protection from pregnancy. But it’s not a sure to fix to not getting pregnant. It’s best to get on some form of birth control as soon as you can x

Breastfeeding does have an effect on ovulation but it doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant. It just makes you LESS fertile, it is still very possible to get pregnant just less likely.

My baby was born March 11! So she’s 2 months old now too. I haven’t started my period yet and we are breastfeeding as well. I am on birth control though

You certainly could be, or might get pregnant. Breastfeeding is not a reliable form of birth control. I was told that probably 1000 times between prenatal visits and my hospital stay and discharge. Wait a week or so and take a test.

You can get pregnant. Beat feeding can make you slightly irregular but not act as nature’s birth control. Remember women in menopause have gotten pregnant. Anything is possible. Check with your ob. They have a low hormone BC pill as well. Especially if your concerned about potentially getting pregnant.
Yes you ovulate. And yes you csn ovulate with no period. I breastfed all my kids and usually got my period when my kids turned 14 months
I got pregnant within the 2 months after I gave birth and had 2 in one year! I was breastfeeding so very possible.

My 2 youngest are 14 months apart and I was breastfeeding. It’s an old wives tale. Get checked and start using protection unless you are good with having kids so close in age.

Yes, you can be pregnant. Breast feeding is NOT birth control. You can still ovulate even if you don’t have periods or have irregular periods. So if you don’t want the possibility, got get a Plan B right away… and talk to your OB about your options for prevention, and use condoms in the mean time.

Yes, you can get pregnant while breastfeeding. I was told the same thing and my boys are 13 months apart. I also didn’t have a period with my daughter for 12 months when I was EBF. They will give you a pregnancy test when you go in for your 6 week postpartum.

You are most fertile after having a kid. Just because you’re breastfeeding doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant. You most definitely can get pregnant.
You can get pregnant. But not having a period doesn’t necessarily mean that, you might not have one for a long time if you’re nursing, it is different for every one. Definitely have them test you at your appt and then get on the mini pill ASAP if you don’t want to get pregnant again.

My oldest was 4 months old when I got pregnant with my little boy. Shell be 2 this August and he’ll be 1 in September. So yes it is possible you could be pregnant. I would definitely get a test.

My mom got pregnant with me when my brother was around 4 months old. He was born May 21, 1984 and I was born June 21, 1985.
I didn’t ovulate while breastfeeding until my first child was 17 months old. Now my second child is 11 months and I’m still waiting.
