Currently 10 weeks pregnant and my ph balance has been thrown off. I was wondering if boric acid suppositories are safe to use while pregnant. I just need relief until I go to the doctor in 2 days. I will also call a nurse to see what they say about it I was just wondering what other peoples opinion on this was or what their doctors told them

My dr prescribed me that for an infection when I was pregnant. I would ask your dr first though.

It’s hard to take people’s advice off the internet. Your best option would be to just call and talk to a nurse. They’ll generally give you a few options.

From someone that was treating what they thought was a yeast infection that ended up being a uti it’s best to get seen they can test your urine to see what’s going on. Apple cider vinegar baths and plenty of water / cranberry juice helped me.
I know you said it but seriously call your doctor and they will be able to tell you

I would say no, it’s likely not safe in pregnancy. Things that you can do in your every day life when you’re not pregnant can be harmful to your baby while you are pregnant. Def ask your doc before you take/use anything that they haven’t told you is ok

For those of you being rude, PLEASE educate yourself and stop flying off the handle🙄 Boric acid suppositories are a safe and effective way to treat yeast infections and also balance your PH levels. You cannot use them while pregnant but otherwise they are completely safe.
Some of y’all have never been pregnant with a itch you can’t scratch and it shows … home girl just needs some temporary relief until her dr responds.
Sheesh now let’s suggest the usual vagisil or otc itch creams and wish her luck

A nurse told me to put plain yogurt in the area. I preferred just eating yogurt with probiotics. I also found using non fragrance soap will help balance ph. A lil antibacterial cream outer skin can help eliminate the itch. New seasons has all natural anti yeast meds.

You shouldn’t take anything while pregnant unless cleared by your doctor first. Just because it’s safe while you are not pregnant dose not mean it’s safe while you are… I would wait the 2 days and ask your doctor and not Facebook.

You need to go to the doctor because if your pH balance is off you might have bacterial vaginosis and that can cause bleeding. I know this because at 33 weeks I had bacterial vaginosis and I didn’t even know because I had no symptoms and I blood really bad. Twice. I ended up having to give birth to my baby early at 36 weeks

Listen, everything out there about boric acid suppositories and pregnancy screams unsafe, harmful, and toxic to the developing fetus. There are dozens of articles and warnings saying absolutely not to use them while pregnant.

It’s your diet and water intake.
If you have BV or yeast it is NOT safe to take boric acid suppositories when pregnant. I’m sorry I went through this pregnant with my phone/hormones changing and my midwife said it was not safe.

For some relief until you can get into the doctor, take a warm bath and add baking soda. After your bath dry your vagina really well with a blow dryer on the cool setting then we’re a night gown. Repeat if you need to.

I wouldn’t do that I’d wait until you see your Dr in a few days and ask them then go from there
