I was 12 and so was my daughter. 8 and 9 seen so young 
I started mine on my 10th birthday. Didn’t know what it was or anything and thought I was dying. 
but I had been in a B cup bra and had hair on every part there could be since 8-9.

MY daughter Verlinda aka Tootie started at 5 Year old scared the mess out of me. The Dr.called it precocious puberty
I was 10 years old when I started to notice hair on my legs and private part very few but still didn’t get my period till 14
I started my period when I was 8 and I just remember being scared because I thought I was dying. The next school year was when we were watching the puberty videos, but I ended up learning way earlier about it
Mine got hers at 9.5 years old. Its hard this young 
I had to help her manage it for the first year (she only had its maybe 5 times in a year). The inconsistencies of it gave her anxiety. Never knowing when it will come… Sometimes she skips a few months, sometimes its once a month. So I get her to carry pads just in case.
As a person who works in an elementary school, I’ve seen this a lot.
My Granddaughter started at 10 years old
I was 9 when it started. Just have a care package for her ready, try make her feel as comfortable as possible for when she does start. Have different kinds of pads/underwear. Have talks too! Wish my mom would have done something like that, especially having a talk about upcoming changes in my body. Having that comfort at that age is crucial!

Oh gosh yall are starting to scare me my daughter is 7 now. … we’ve casually talked about periods but I’m not ready

I started my period when I was 9 sixty years ago. Woke up one morning around the same time with boobs.

My daughter is 8 and she has started getting pubic hair and cramps and all the wonderful things that come with it like moodiness. -.- I’m not ready. I understand the panic.

I was hospitalized a few times because of the horrible cramps
My parents were really supportive, didn’t make it dirty and bad, did go “omg she’s too young”
I’ve seen this became an issue with my students, we’re they essentially shamed their kids because they weren’t comfortable with how young puberty started.

I got puberty at that age and was an a cup at nine but didnt start until 13.
I started mine when I was 9. Freaked me out because nobody prepared me for it. You can’t stop her from going through it. All you can do is make sure she’s prepared by telling her what to expect.
I startedy period at nine years old. My mother and I made the choice for me to use tampons. I was very young, but I always bled so much. I used to have to change a large overnight pad every 30 minutes (when I wore them during the day).
Is it normal/standard for a doctor to be inspecting the pubic region/hair of an 8 year old? Genuine question. Ours has never done that for my kids or anybody else that I know.
I wonder if it’s all the growth hormones we eat in our meat? I’m sorry, this must really be shocking for you!!

I was 9 when I started mine.
I had a friend who got hers in 2nd grade
My daughter was 11 she’ll be 13 August 13th next month. I was 12 yrs old!
My daughter had to start wearing a bra at age 6. She didn’t end up starting her period until age 11 but everything else was developing. She was wearing a C cup by age 11.
They said that about my step daughter at that age she is 12 now and still no period 
I started when I was 8.
My friend was 9 just have a very honest talk with her preparing her!
I bought the book, “The Care and Keeping of you…Book 1”…we would read it together. It really helped her to not freak out because my 10 year old started about 2 months before her 9th birthday. I knew she was beginning puberty early, so I tried to prepare her as best I could.
Poor babies 
that pain is terrible now I can’t imagine at such age, to think my daughter would have it anytime soon makes me sad.

Every girl will start at a different time I wouldn’t worry unless she was around 5-7 that being said I started when I was 9-10 and I was the first out of my friends and that was fine if not embarrassing but I also had no idea it would happen since my mother wasn’t around early in my life and my dad had completely forgotten lol 
I started at 12. Incredibly heavy flow. No cramps for around 2 years then majorly horrible cramps until after high school was over. Talk about it!
I started at 8 as well. I was very fortunate that I wasn’t like most girls. I didn’t have the mood swings you couldn’t tell I was having them. I didn’t have to take anything.the cramps were tolerable.
I started mine in 5th grade so I was 9-10 before my school went over sex ed so it was awkward especially since they didn’t have anywhere to dispose of used pads in the bathroom at my school back then. It was fine honestly just awkward for the most part. Girls are starting their periods younger now a days and when a girl starts menstruating it depends on a lot of things like weight and hormones for example. You’re doctor would tell you if there was any reason to be worried it’s good you had time to prep though! I just started mine out of the blue and thankfully my mom was with me so it could be handled then.
I started when I was 9. As I got older and started getting into nutrition, I learned that I could have started early because of all the junk food and red meat that I consumed. I now have little girls (and boys) who eat very well and so far no periods. Some puberty symptoms, yes, but not a period & my oldest is 10.
