Did I take this too far?

It will grow back and they will get over it

Your hair, your business. If thatā€™s all
It took to get mad at you they have some serious issues of their own. But public school had nothing to do with it. My kids went to a private Christian school and several times we got notification that lice was going around. After my boys got their first head check before school one day they chose to have their heads shaved.

Yes, yes you did. And the problem is unless you shaved all the way to the scalp and didnā€™t use ant kind of treatment for the head, you probably still have them. :woman_shrugging:

Dude all you have to do is comb through it a few times with a nit comb. Are you going to shave Heads every single time??? No chemicals even needed, just a nit comb and conditioner !

Yes. You absolutely over reactedā€¦ You didnt have to shave anyoneā€™s headā€¦ easy to treat

Any one itches when they hear the word lice you took it too far

Why?!? People itch from just the world live. You couldnā€™t ask your fiancĆ© to go through your hair? Was this an emotion based reaction or was this well I wanted try this look out at a some point might as well be now? Also you still have work to do if they have lice, itā€™s still in your home. Your furniture, bedding, toys, the car etc. did you talk with the kids about what was happening? The dad? Just tell them you panicked about lice, itā€™s ok to freak out. Itā€™s like when thereā€™s spider and we say burn the house downā€¦ we donā€™t actually burn it down.

Yeah you shouldnā€™t have cut your own hair without even knowing if you had it lol is this a joke?

Itā€™s YOUR hair if that is their problem. Tons of boys have buzz cuts. I see it as a bit radical, but it insured all lice are gone from your person and the kids bodies. Youā€™ll still need to do all the housecleaning though.

Both my daughters and I had lice because of one of them brought it home one day. We all had long hair. My hubby did suggested about shaving it all off of the three of us. I asked my aunt to cut our hair short so I can treat it better. I gave my younger daughter a pixie cut and my older daughter got a Dora like hair cut. They didnā€™t like it at first but understood that it was either cut short or go bald. They didnā€™t want to get picked on for being bald. I got rid of lice completely with the continuous use of lice Aftercare treatment shampoo and coconut conditioner.

:rofl::rofl: and your going to do it every time one of your kids bring home lice? Itā€™s probably all over their bedding, rugs, couches and so forthā€¦ just cause you shaved their heads doesnā€™t mean youā€™ve solved the problem :joy::joy::joy:

Thear is shampoo on the market that kills head lice.
Coll ed RICHS. BEST KEPT SECRETS. SHAMPOO. MADE IN PORTLAND. OR.
THAT WORKS GOOD.

Yepā€¦and they probably had it longer than you notice, so unless you treat the house/bedding, they can still be there

I shaved my kids hair off because another kid pulled it once lmaooo everyone was mad but itā€™s just hair; it grows back and my kid didnā€™t care

You cut your hair too? Yeah you went too far, there are way ways to get rid of it

This is a joke right?

Tbh Iā€™ve been fighting lice off/on since my daughters started school. I have to be so careful because my hair is almost to my a$$ and Iā€™m NOT cutting it. I wouldnā€™t go to that extreme, but I can understand. I hate lice with a passion. My girls have short hair for this reason

They are mad about YOUR hair? How are you? Are you ok with it? It can be shockingā€¦ but itā€™s still your body!

Nothing tells other kids that someone has/had lice than being sent home and then coming back bald.:woman_shrugging: Caused my brothers a lot of bullying. Itā€™s not hard to treat it and take care of the problem without shaving their hair off

Live lice can actually embed themselves ib your scalp. So a lot if times shaving your head doesnt work

Yeah u did. U could have just treated yā€™alls hair with the right shampoos & combs. U gonna burn your house next to get rid of it in the rugs & furniture?

Yes! That was the lazy way ! You could have gotten the lice kit from wall mart an treated all of you guys hair and the kit comes with spray and stuff to do your car all your household linen and you could have washed all your bed linen. An if you didnā€™t treat all of you guys clothes bed linen furniture car etc cut was useless just to shave yā€™all heads.

You should of just treated them not shave there hair now the other kids might say the spread the head lice

Its little over the top but you can shave your head if you want it doesnt hurt anyone so they should accept it. Hair grows back

:rofl::rofl: A good comb with conditioner and tea tree oil would do the trick but some people are just 1-100!

Itā€™s your own hair, they need to get over it.

I mean definitely could have just treated it but you do you boo

Way too far. Those kids may face a lot of embarrassment at school

Itā€™s your hair, period. However, shaving everybodyā€™s head because of lice is stupid and comically unnecessary.

Shaving yalls head and ā€œcleaning their clothesā€ isnt going to get rid of the lice for goodšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

R u serious lady ?! Yes way too far lol :rofl::rofl:

Um yeah. There is ways to treat it. We treat with Permethrin. Works like a charm dilute some in water and spray hair clothes, furniture, let sit on hair for 6o minutes wash out comb threw with lice comb. The reproduction cycle is 3 days. So if you catch it early enough they are still young enough you can kill them before they lay eggs. Therefore stopping the cycle.

Donā€™t forget that you need to treat all bedding, furniture, stuffed animals, soft toys. Not just clothes and hair. You will continue to have a problem until the whole house is treated and donā€™t forget about carpets and rugs

Bit too far, could of just bought a comb and some solution :joy::person_shrugging:

Taking it too far is subjective  however; itā€™s your head :woman_shrugging:t2:

Yes u did go to far. The boys I can see but u really?? Relax lady make sure u still treat the house and clothes though.

As someone who went through a similar situation with my daughter, nope.
Nothing we tried worked. I ended up going through her hair with tweezers and a flashlight for hours. It was traumatic for both of us. But nothing worked.
I made a promise if we got to that point everyone was getting shaved. Thankfully we didnā€™t, but shaving a boys head isnā€™t terrible. My son and hubby would have had to. Easiest way to get rid of them. :woman_shrugging:

Way way to far. Itā€™s not hard to get rid of them. Just takes a little work.

itā€™s ur head ur hair ur decision to be honest, plus it will grow back they will get over it

Well if they donā€™t shave their heads too are they even your family? Is she even your mom then?

First step should be lice treatmentā€¦ not nuclear bomb lol. If itā€™s infested then yeah shaving is the way to go. But shaving doesnā€™t get rid of it entirely

rapunzels is a botique that gets rid of liceā€¦expensive but the treatment worksā€¦ and they have lots of preventive products! Depending on where you liveā€¦

Yeh I think that wasnā€™t really necessary, that being said u can do whatever you want with ur own hair, would u have shaved a little girls hair if u had a daughter? Did ur boys want there heads shaven? It wouldnā€™t have been that hard to treat unless ots a reoccurring problem, you still need to hot wash the beds too not just the clothes and anything else they can live in :woman_shrugging: but u do you

That escalated quickly! Lmao

I mean I get what you were trying to do BUT if you had just taken them to their pediatrician they would have prescribed this amazing lice shampoo that killed all of them quickly. And she has super long thick curly Puerto Rican hair. And I had the doc give enough so I could use it too and the same thing. I used it and I swear they were gone to at night. I mean itā€™s too late now but. Next time. I get your side of the story BUT I get theirs too

Itā€™s Britney biatch :joy: if I had the courage probs would do that same letā€™s be honest!

I mean honestly unless you literally scalped your heads, the lice are probably still there.

But itā€™s your head, your body, and your own kidsā€™ hair, so ultimately itā€™s your decision. Hair always grows back. I think you may have panicked and gone a little overboard, but who am I to judge. :woman_shrugging:t3: it grows back.

Yea that was the easy way out. Next time get some argon oil and treat hair for 2x2days ā€¦ apply a good thick amount to head and massage through making sure to pay close attention to the scalp so can coat eggs in there againā€¦ sleep in it overnight, comb in morning, leave it for day, and wash that night with shampoo and conditioner

Yes. You could have used shampoo for lice.

Unless you shaved bald, to the skinā€¦they can still live. Please treat your babies heads. Left untreated, lice can get Really bad. And kids often scratch open wounds in their scalp.

I applaud your standing up for yourself, but simply shaving isnā€™t going to get rid of em. (I know u said u cleanedā€¦its still mandatory to treat the scalp

When I was a teen I would constantly get lice  but after I started dying my hair I never got lice again. Shaving was slightly extreme, maybe next time semi or permanent dye for yourself and boys. But you were preventing spread and you werenā€™t really harming anyone else

Apply mayonnaise all in hair and wrap it in saran wrap for 3 hours. Kills anything! Lolā€¦seriously though it works. Then rinse with a vinegar mixed with water. No harsh chemicals!

Is this a real story? This canā€™t be a real story. Am I on Punkā€™d?

U d have even when you shave your head

I feel as though youā€™ve been wanting to do this for awhile and simply used lice as your reason to finally commit either way good for you free yourself

you do what you want

Just for future reference or anybody else dealing with headlice: henna makes hair inhospitable for lice. Use henna and not only will it smother and kill any live lice and eggs, but a head with henna is usually a lice free head. You can get henna with no colour too.
P.S.: I understand shaving your head. You could use the treatments and finetooth comb, but itā€™s hard work. Shaving probably easier if you felt the need anyway!

Itā€™s your head? Shave it if you want? And honestly they are your kids and you decide what is best for them and it that makes it easier for you all to get rid of the lice, whatā€™s the issue??? Thatā€™s your choice!

Haha this has to be a joke!!

I am just curious as to why you just shaved all your heads. You still have to use medicated shampoo to kill the lice and their eggs among other things to kill them. Now your kids still have lice but with shaved heads.

Itā€™s your hair. :woman_shrugging:t2:

Itā€™s your hair and your life. You only took it too far if you think you did. If I had :soccer: ā€˜s Iā€™d shave my hair off too but I donā€™t lmao. They make wigs for a reason though if everyone is that bothered by it. Have THEM buy you a wig. :joy::woman_shrugging:t2:

As someone who has dealt with lice quite a bitā€¦ Its a freaking nightmare. And honestly, I donā€™t blame youā€¦ You just took out a huge issue with shaving your hair. Now the lice canā€™t come back (this time) and all you need to worry about is treating your clothes and bedding
