Did Zarbaees cough syrup work for you?

Did zarbes cough syrup, and mucus work for anyone? How long til it starts kicking in? My 1 yr old has this really bad cough. It’s like this screech cough, and Idk if maybe it’s not working, or I need to wait longer. I gave it to her, about an hr ago. I hate hearing her cough like this! What are good cough remedies, or medicine, that worked, for you?

It’s gonna take more than one dose for it to work but it works

Zarbees didn’t work one but for my guy. He is also one. I give him dimetapp and it works great!

Zarbees worked for us. Just make sure you have the dose right and do it every four hours(I think that’s what the box says) it takes more than one dose to work.

Ive been giving it to my 2 year old for a year on and off its 50/50 . You could try a spoon of honey.

No cough syrup for toddlers. You don’t want to suppress a cough.

The Hylands Baby brand seems to work better

Tis the season for croup, to be safe take her to the dr… but i always gave my son at that age zarbees or highlands… hope she feels better…

I was advised by a health worker and drs to not use cough syrup as it prolongs the cold as it stops the body naturally clearing the catahhr (snot etc). It may not be nice but it’s better in the long run to not use it. Try warm blackcurrant x

Try warming up some honey with some lemon juice, have her drink it after it cools down. I do this all the time, the honey will soothe her throat, while the lemon juice will break up any mucus

I use it for my son. I also use the lavender oil and the congestion rub. I think from either hylands or zarbees

Priton or antihistamine works good it actually stops the itch that makes u cough x or vicks on soles of feet cover with socks at night !!

If it doesn’t sound like your normal “cold” cough, ( high pitched, barking sound) it may be croup. If that’s the case, try sitting with them in a steamy bathroom with a hot shower going. You don’t want to let it get worse. I’d call their pediatrician, just to be safe.

No it never worked. Benadryl at night time dries up mucus better than anything I’ve tried

Zarbees works wonders it’s really not a suppressant it just helps them cough up what’s in there couch suppressants are bad for kids under the age of 3

My Dr also suggested hylands. Said sometimes one will work better than the other

It worked for us took about 2 days to actually kick in

I bought the baby one for 2 months +.
I think it’s making a difference!

Honey always did wonders for my kids

Never worked for my kid. We used honey and lemon. Pineapple juice supposed to be good for cough

It worked for my 9mo olds congestion and very slight cough. If his cough is that bad maybe see his Dr for something stronger? May not be a normal cough :woman_shrugging: hope he feels better!

Also running a cool mist humidifier and using Vick’s

Mama, have you taken LO to the doc. Could be RSV and or crop. My wife has RSV and my son had CRop. The cough sounded as bad as you said. Just horrible.

A lot of these comments suggest honey. Please please please do NOT give a child under 2 years of age honey. It causes botulism, which is deadly.

I purchased the 2+ month one. My little girl got a cold at 3 months or so and would not stop coughing and when she would cough she would cry and cry. After the first dose or 2 her cough started to get better and she was in a much better mood overall. The best part about it is its ALL NATURAL so you dont have to worry about it suppressing the cough. I also suggest a humidifier they work wonders as well.

I did honey for my daughter. It is perfectly safe for kids over 1. It worked great for her. We also did pineapple juice, it helped a lot too. Also, try vapor rub on the bottoms of the feet with socks.

It works for my 8 month old. We also use a cool mist humidifier, and Zarbees chest rub.

Last year I asked my pediatrician which otc meds to give my daughter (then 1 yr) and it’s been the only one we’ve used since.

It makes her more comfortable but doesn’t really help the cough.
At 1 years old you still don’t have a lot of safe options (unless directed by a doctor)
I would turn on the shower as hot as you can get it. Take your little on in the bathroom with the door closed and see if steam helps.

It doesn’t suppress the cough. You don’t want a cough suppressant. I give it to my kids and I think it shortens the cold.

Cool mist humidifier, saline nose drops, plenty of fluids…and if her cough is that bad, go to the doctor.

Baby vicks on the little feets then put socks on or foot jammas

Doesn’t work on my 2 year old brother or step son

Hylands. Zarbees did nothing

if it sounds like stridor you need to be seen ASAP

Yes it works for my 1 yr old. Currently giving it to him.

I’ve always used Zarbees Natural Complete Cough Syrup + Immune dark honey & elderberry - it works within the hour and am pretty sure it’s the elderberry that is the bonus in it.

And it is safe for children 1 and up

Zarbees cough and mucus works the best.

Goinf with the type of cough sounds like ure little one has croup plenty fresh air and a trip to docs if no better my daughter is now 12 and had croup on and off since 6 months no amount of cough syrup etc will help. Bowl of water on the radiator aswell and keep the temp in your home warm and nomore

Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of her feet. Cover with sock or footy pjs

Try elderberry syrup. Pineapple juice also has more vitamin C than orange juice. Those are gonna help your baby get better faster but will not suppress the cough. baby Vicks on the throat helps with the cough. I usually put it on her chest, back, throat, and bottom of feet.

I like zarbees, I prefer the cough med with elderberry the best

Screech cough? Hopefully it’s not whooping cough…

My LO is currently fighting a cold. We use Zarbaees (her pediatrician and the pharmacist said it was good to use), Tylenol when her voice sounds scratchy, put baby Vicks on her feet, chest and back (put her in footie pjs because she won’t keep socks on), and running a humidifier in her room. We also have been giving her warm baths with epsom salt.

You never want to suppress a cough, it’s a way the bodies get rid of the bad. The honey in zarbees helps soothe the throat for coughs. I’ve always used zarbees for both my babies and it’s our favorite and all our doctors agree its the best thing to use without actually suppressing the cough.

Pineapple juice! It has bromeline in it. A natural anti inflammatory. Then follow with zarbees or hylands

Have you tried turning the shower on and sitting in the bathroom with the steam? I know how it is when you’ve got a little one with bad coughs you try everything before having to take them in to the doctor. Prayers for you and her mama.

Hylands brand worked best for my daughter

Take. Your. Child. To. The. Doctor… get an actual diagnosis, get real medicine and treatment…
Zarbees is homeopathic junk and it is not real medicine and nothing marketed as homeopathic is valid treatment

If the cough is really dry sounding, she could have croup! I’d take her to get her checked out

I love zarbees! I never use anything else. My son loves the taste too so its so easy giving it to him. It works fast on my son.

When our little one was younger we would mix fresh pineapple juice with water; now that they are older we just give them straight pineapple juice.

Just keep an eye out and it never hurts, if you haven’t already to get them checked out.
Sending well wishes your way.

The cold air outside opens up the bronchial tube, breathe better.

My pediatricians office always told me that pure honey is the best cough syrup. They told me not to even try any otc cough medicines anymore bc they’re no longer recommending them

Call DR and ask, pray it’s not whooping cough

Our pediatrician and pharmacist both recommend zarbees. It’s the best for the little ones. With a cough like that have you taken her to make sure it isn’t whooping cough or rsv? It is so common and so dangerous. Please be careful. Prayers for your precious little one and you.

Fresh pineapple can reduce inflammation I give my kids some before bed sometimes drizzle honey on it. Helps depending on what they’ve got goin on

screech cough??
can you post a video of it or just the cough?

Works for my daughter still and shes 4.

Zarbees has always worked for us. We use the chest rub. We put it on his feet and then put socks on. Do warm baths with Johnson and johnson vapor bath stuff. You put it in the bath. That helps too.

Took my baby girl about 3 days to finally stop coughing and having so much mucus with the zarbees.

With everything going on like flu and rsv I’d go get her checked. Our pediatrician office told us the had test over 50 kids and most of them were positive. Hope she feels better soon

Zarbees worked great for me

Take a bowl and grease it with Vicks. Turn the hot water on in the shower to steam bathroom. Bring child in sit on toilet seat and let child just relax and breathe. Take a book for her jic she’s fidgity. Change clothes as they might feel damp. Settle her down with a spoon of honey. And CALL THE DOCTOR.

Try a saline mist in her nose cause most likely it’s nasal drainage that’s causing her cough and a cool most humidifier in her room while she sleeps

Zarbees has never let me down. My son loves the taste and after a few days cold is gone.

We use zarbees. Our doc told us not to use any honey until after a year. I dont remeber the name but he said the honey had the same thing in it as botox

zarbees worked for us it took about 2 or 3 doses before it started working but it works we dont use hylands as it was like giving them nothing at all zarbees is what works for us baby vicks and a warm bath they have vicks bath that i put inside the bathtub that also helped.

Zarbees Cough is Thyme and Agave nectar, and a bottle of agave is cheaper than a bottle of Zarbees so that’s what I used when my daughter was too little for cough meds. It’s just to coat their throat

I loved the zarbees. They also have a ‘vicks type’ rub that helped my babies. I’ve even used it on my husband lol

Sounds like whooping cough or croup- she needs to be seen by doctor. Home remedies for cough honey( safe for over 1yrs old), elderberry syrup, pineapple juice- see if she will drink this warmed up, not hot baby formula warm bc cold drinks also make it worse and a cool mist humidifier. You can also try Hylands. I hope she feels better soon

Little remedies honey for cough is what i would use. But if the cough doesnt go away in a week, take him in cus it would be a viral infection/bronchitis/pneumonia that needs antibiotics.

We use the MATYS brand. Works 10x better & is organic.

There’s an essential oil roll on for coughs at Walmart

Most cough medications don’t work to “cure” a cough. It coats the throat to suppress it if it’s caused by the tickle feeling. There are no cures for colds. Most symptoms just get hidden by medicines.

I used that a few weeks ago when he was congested it was great… 4ml ever 4-6hours i used it every other day and it was great…

I’d try the doctor’s office.

Our son recently had RSV. What worked best for us was the zarbees plus Epsom salt eucalyptus baths and after baby vicks on the feet with socks overnight. Next morning he immediately started sounding better.

We also had a nebulizer for his breathing and humidifier going per drs instructions. She RX’d Histex but we didnt see any improvement with it.

A screech cough needs to be seen though by her pediatrician.

I’ve used zarbees and it never worked for my daughter  I’d go 2days giving it to her and no sign of getting better. Then i switched and she got better in about a day.

My mom is a nurse and she swears by delsym. It didn’t really help my daughter, but she was pretty bad. Coughing til she threw up and got patekeye(sp?)

1 cup warm water, 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons honey and a dash of cinnamon. Drink as often as u would like

I used essential oils on my 1 year olds chest and diffused at night while he slept.

Also if you have one of the wax warmers put a tbsp of Vicks or store brand with a tbsp of water if you don’t have a humidifier plus Vicks on feet with socks

It works wonder for my son. After the the second dose it got better. Depending on how bad the cough is.

We had to get a nebulizer for our 5 month old for his cough and congestion and used a humidifier it works

Delsym syrup now has a new rx for children. Do t know the details but you could read the directipns

Go to the pediatrician with her . It may require something like nebulizer treatments

It may take a little longer. Try to use a humidifier. I personally do not feel like zarbees works well.

Vicks vaporub is good for all ages

You need to go to the pediatrician!! Two of my kids had the croup and had to have steroids. When coughs make weird sounds like that it’s good to go in!

Usually Zarbees works for my kids; however, the last time they were sick it didn’t work so we grabbed the equate brand of hylands cold and cough/ day and night. That being said, that cough sounds like something her pediatrician needs to see her for. Call the doc.

If the cough is weird or terribly disruptive to eating and rest you need to see a doctor to determine if its a virus or infection, my pediatrician says coughing is good, it means they’re keeping it loose, I never suppress my children’s cough, it is the body’s defense system to get the phlegm out of the lungs. If you suppress the cough they could develop bronchitis/pneumonia, especially that young

Not for my little guy

The flu is rampid this year. Even if you did get the shot!!

Be careful of Croup …if it’s that bad she might need to go to Dr.

Sounds like possible whooping cough need to see dr

Only thing that helped my son who is now asthmatic was nebulizer treatment at home and steroids. Also vicks humidifier and sleeping sitting propped up as much as possible
