Is it true that after getting periods girl’s height stopped growing? And is it normal for girls to start periods at the age of 9?

Definitely not, periods starting age is unrelated. Women stop growing vertically about 14-15 regardless of periods. Then you grow out like boobs hips ect in your 20s. Periods usually start 10-13 so that is years before

I’ve never heard this. I started my period at 12 ish, I didnt stop growing until I was at least 19 and I’m 5’9". I know I wasnt 5’9" at 12.

I started mine at 13 when I was 5’6”…… I’m almost 30 and 5’10”
Also as time has gone on, it has become more of the average for girls to start their period younger

Their growth is mostly, by not all, done by then usually. Puberty is starting earlier on average than it used to.

9 years old is way early I’ve never heard of that, I didnt start until 13 and I didnt stop growing height wise until about 20 years old

No it’s not… You stop growing at 18yrs the you full grown, period doesn’t affect your growing rate…

Usually it’s a out a year after menarche the epiphysys of the bones seal off and growth stops.
No you can grow after you get your period. Yes it is normal to get your period around 9 yr. Old

I stopped at 5’3 at the age of 12 due to getting mine so early. I was 8 when I started. It is called precocious puberty.

My daughter started at 8. However, she is pretty tall for her age(5’4"). When we went to a specialist, he told us she can grow another 4-5 inches after starting her period.

Also it seems girls are getting younger and younger with getting their periods so 9 seems to be decent.

I had my period when I was 9 or 10, and I stopped growing height wise in seventh grade.
I started when I was 10 and it was pretty well developed for my age at nine years old. As far is growing height wise, nowhere near being done. They are just pretty much getting started at that age.

I am 5’11" now, and I wasn’t at age 13 when my periods began! It is the “new normal” for girls to start having periods around the age of 9…some(although rare) even have them earlier!

I started at 11. Stayed the same size (5’ even) til 15 and had a growth spurt (to 5’3"). Had another growth spurt at TWENTY and ended up 5’5". Depends on the person.

My mom was nine, I was 14. I was done growing but I think that had a lot to do with my age. We’re all short but that runs in our family. So she probably grew a little bit more
My daughter started her period in the 7th grade she was 5’6 she is now a senior and is 6’ tall. She wants another inch but probably won’t get it

Growth plates typically start to close 1.5 years after a girls first menstrual cycle

I think most girls stop growing in height around 14 or 15 years old, regardless of when they start menstruating.
Idk but I got my period at 9

I think everyone is different. Satistically they say females stop growing around 1.5 years after their first menstrual cycle.
It is thought girls stop growing two years after the date of their first period. This is a genuine rule of thumb though!

Idk who told you girls stop growing height when they get their periods, but don’t trust anything else they say. 
It’s possible for a 9yo to get their period. Uncommon though.
It can be normal for her to start at 9. We normally stop growing around 25.

It’s normal for a girl to start her period at 9 usually they say that about 9-11 is when girls start it but some start it early. My bd’s stepdaughter started her period at 7yrs old. Everyone is different
Women grow till 21 and a period is relatively normal for 9.

When girls start their periods the bone ends are covered due to the hormones, I believe it is called the epifisus. When this happens they stop growing. For some reason boys are different and can grow till late teens.

Most pediatricians will tell you girls will reach their height a year after they start their period. But nowadays girls are getting their periods at younger ages and it may be off by a year or two. Most girls stop growing by age 14-15.
My 8 year old just got her period last week. I called her pediatrician and she said it was definitely on the lower range of normal but still normal and wouldn’t be concerned.
My 12 year old got hers about 6 months ago, she’s still growing like a weed and already taller than me!

They definitely don’t start growing when their periods come and 9 is fairly normal

No, girls continue to grow heightwise up to about 18 years old, on average. Some stop sooner, some get a bit taller. But by 21 they are done.
I’ve heard that before as well, I’m not sure girls stop growing completely but I started my period at 9 years old and have literally been the same height ever since

I don’t think so. I still grew for 3 years or so after I got my period at 11. And yes it’s normal for a girl to get her period at 9. Some girls hit puberty earlier than others and some hit it later

Girls can start their period at different ages, while 9 seems young it can happen. Girls continue to grow for years after they get their period.
