Definitely tampons. I remember I was 14 and going on a camping/canoe trip with my church youth group mortified that I would have my period. Starting using tampons and never looked back. Not sure why anyone would ever want to use a pad (yuck).
Is there a swimsuit like those period underwear? I thought I saw one advertised.
I wore tampons starting in the 5th grade because I was a competitive swimmer. It wasn’t a big deal.

My daughter is 14 and wears tampons…no problem.
Let me just say this. We just came back from Florida and they even had a beach just for dogs to go swimming and those dogs I know were not wearing any diapers and tampons in the ocean. So lucky me ended up getting extremely sick with a UTI from these beaches so I would ask which would be the most sanitary and easiest thing for your daughter. And I bet at 13 she probably already knows all about this and you don’t know about it.

First off the cups aren’t even that gross, just properly clean them. Second, that’s not your body, you should have absolutely no say in how she manages HER cycle.(although suggestions are ok Third, people have been vacationing FOREVER during their cycles, ya’ll will find a way.
Sit down with daughter and discuss what she would prefer.

Teach her to use tampons and allow her to learn from the beginning how to deal with her cycle. It will be a part of her life for many years.

They have the teen Playtex tampons my 26 yr daughter got her period at 10 yrs old .I understand your hesitantcy but the new Playtex teen tampons are awesome for girls. Just remember to bring aspirin for her for cramps!!!

When I got my period for the first time I was on a vacation where we swam. Thankful that my friend was older and she gave me instructions on how to use a tampon. I never used pads until I had my second child at she 35. Tampons have come a long way since I was young. Don’t be afraid to let your daughter use them, just ensure she changes them timely.

Buy some of the little swimmers diapers and just cut the sides. They are meant for swimming in and will let her be able to swim and not worry about the mess

Let me put it like this. If your daughter was a gymnast or a swimmer, you would have to get her acquainted with tampons. Unless you wanted to miss meets and practices. She will be fine it part of growing up. Get her board shorts or a cute wraps for her swimsuit just in case. If she doesn’t feel comfortable she can still hang on the beach and look into some activities that just you and her can do with out water, like shopping, mani-pedis, see some sights,

Why don’t you let Her decide what She wants, and what female product works best for her.
I mean that’s kind of what tampons are for, swimming, sports etc. I don’t see the harm in using one and I think you’d rather YOU be the one showing her rather than her trying on her own one day without your knowledge. I didn’t have any help and inserted my first tampon with the application still on it, lol!

Nothing wrong with using tampons. This is 2021. I’m 66 and I used them when I started. I’m positive they are much improved by now.

There is nothing wrong with tampons. Use the lightest absorbency till you know what works. Plastic applicator may be easier to use. And look up period panties. Use pads at night for a break. She needs to be comfortable with her body, periods and she will decide if a pad or tampon works for her. Also look into medicine for cramping and bloating. This way her holiday can be as enjoyable as possible.

I never liked using tampons but i got used to it. It’s a part of a woman’s life. We all have to find ways to deal with it. Have an honest discussion with her you might be surprised.
I had terrible heavy long periods until i went on the pill.

What’s wrong with tampons? I suppose teaching someone to use them would be awkward but they make periods a little more tolerable than being stuck wearing a diaper tbh
