Are you sure it’s even fleas? This sounds like what happened when I had a bed bug epidemic. Some of the family wasnt bit but some were. Took forever to figure it out.
Check out the life cycle of fleas , I cant remember but you have break it . So it its treat and treat again , use something that kills eggs and treat like you would lice . Putting stuffed animals in garbage and spraying. Hartz flea and tick spray it great.
As for child try an oatmeal bath with toys and let play
Flea smoke bombs are the best but if u have animals or fish in your home they need to be taken out for a good few hours x
Fleas are very hard to get rid of. He must be the only one allergic to them. You & your husband are probably getting bit but you don’t react to it. Poor baby, keep doing what you’re doing to get rid of them. They can live on carpet for a long time.
Borrow a cat
Buy a seresto collar for the cat
Let cat roam freely and pick up fleas
Return cat
Seriously that’s the only thing that worked for us. We bombed and sprayed and washed and cleaned and they wouldn’t go away!
Check his hair, sometimes they sit quite sneakily in there. Check the drawers and check all of his clothes as well. Mits, hats and boots too.
My son at 3 room mates all had their own room. One of them was the only getting bit. After several trips to the doctor saying they were fleas they doing it to bed bugs. They can come in with anything cloth. Pillows of any kind, Davenport, chairs, mattress. They had to throw a lot of stuff and had to move out so they could have
I thought my son was being bitten by something, sounds so similar to this story but it was a rare skin infection called Gianotti Crosti Syndrome. Look it up! Most docs haven’t heard of it, after 6 months we ended up at a pediatric cancer center and they were the ones to diagnose it!
You have to get it sprayed the whole house then vaccum twice a day for a week cleaning out the vaccum every time outside
The Raid flea foggers or Advantage foggers work. I use foggers and continued to spray with an all natural flea spray. If you have pets, don’t forget to remove them as well.
My kids dad had no choice but to call exterminator. Theybarevsuper hard to get rid of all the life cycles 3vennof you bomb and kill the adults there is still eggs in the cracks of the walls and floor and anywhere dark and they can thrive
it sounds more like bed bugs than fleas… are you sure 100% it was a flea?
Flea bombs in entire house-you will have to leave for several hours. When you return wash all bedding. Put mothballs in your vacuum. It kills fleas and eggs in carpet. You will also need to treat the puppies. Frontline is excellent. I would wash them all with a heavy duty flea shampoo first. Fleas reproduce quickly which is why you have to attack it from all sides.
If its bed bugs they tend to accumulate in the seams of the mattress and if you look closely you can see them. I really hope its fleas though because if its bedbugs you need to get rid of all your furniture.
Are you sure it’s fleas and not bedbugs??
Don’t forget to dump the vacuum bag.
It kind of sounds like bed bugs
.
Mint mouthwash. Spray everything.
Powdered salt mixed with same amount of borax. We have been infested 3 times. From bringing cats in. This works
Use table salt- put it everywhere & vaccum everyday & repeat till gone!! This is what my girlfriend did but it took about 3 months.
Salt kills them☺
Table salt and lavender oil.
I understand that you saw a flea… but how can you be positive that what he has is flea bites especially considering all you have done to rid the house of them and he is the only one being “bitten”.
Could he be having an allergic reaction to something in the house, something he is ingesting, or even laundry detergent?
Has he had all of his vaccines (mumps, chicken pox, etc)
Has he had any other symptoms aside from what looks like bites (fever, loose stool, appetite change, sleep change, etc)?
How can you be sure it’s fleas and not another bug like bed bugs?
Bomb the house then clean it. Bomb again and clean then shampoo carpets
Did u check for bedbugs?
Ok go and get 100% rubbing alcohol and a spray bottle put half the alcohol and half water spray around the house in every room and keep repeating every day for a week keep vacuuming every day and if you have a bag vaccumm spray the inside of bag and throw out when done if you have a bagless wash the canister out with hot water and they will go to little one if he is allergic to flea bites good luck momma
Get spray from the vet! Don’t waste your money on stuff from the store.
Sure there aren’t any rats, raccoons or other pests to bring new fleas to your house? Anyhow, flea eggs can stay dormant for up to two years, they require a certain poison. The larvae and the actual fleas a different poison. Do a sweep every 4 weeks with spray and deep cleaning, change bedding every other day or so. And up his vit b intake since blood sucking bugs alike don’t like blood with much vit b in it.
Vaccum the floor everyday, fleas lay eggs like crazy and those suckers can survive for weeks. Vaccum the snot out of your carpet and floors, and baseboards shampoo them with dawn water and some vinegar that will kill those demons. Take a spray bottle of dawn water and spray the crap out of the mattress in the morning and let it set for the day and air dry. You also need to treat the outside of your house because you may not be aware but you are still tracking those beasts in the house from outside use an outdoor flea killer spray with water hose and spray the heck out of the house outside. Treat the entire inside. Do bombs inside. I rescued some kittens and had a flea problem after that but I killed it quickly and then no problem. I practically scrubbed my house down from ceiling to floor to kill them all. Monster Monther Mode…
You have to clean out the whole house a few times not just once and spray the outside also if you can flea bomb the whole house I would do it twice in a week’s spand fleas bread extremely fast and it hundreds before you know it. Didn’t you see the fleas on the dogs
All you need is a bottle of Knockout. Sold on Amazon. Dont buy a bunch of crap and waste your money. One bottle of that, you’ll still have leftover and you’re done.
Did u know fleas and mosquitoes bite people whose blood sugar levels are high?? Not kidding!!! This is for real.
Got to get rid of them outside first and then the inside
All if the suggestions above are pretty good. We did 2 rounds of fleas from a puppy and it sucked ass killing them. Just keep cleaning, get ride of everything you can, store things clean in totes or sealed bags and seriously consider a new mattress. Some communities have aid for infestation problems maybe you can look into that? Otherwise burn the house down. good luck hope it gets better soon
Baby Powder all over mattress under sheets, on pillow under case and re-do it again every few months seems to get rid of them. Worked wonders for me as i no longer have any bed bug bites when I wake up anymore. Hope this will work for your child too. All the best
Its worth exterminatoring inside and out or go stay away for a couple days and left off 2 flea bombs per room do this twice also flea spray your entire property as they live in the grass and carpets
This may seem like a really weird trick but in all the rooms where there’s natural sunlight put a bowl of hot water with Dawn in those spots the fleas like the worms in Dawn kills them so with that being said the fleas will go to the bowl they will jump in they will drown and die do that a couple times also do a flea bomb and that should help get rid of the rest
You have to shampoo furniture and carpets if possible, flea bomb , flea spray the vehicles and carseats, and stroller if applicable.
Basically do what a person would normally do for head lice but with flea killers, they can be near impossible to get rid of.
He could be the only one being bit due to the fact that insects can be more attracted to a certain blood type.
It can take 3 months of consistency in treating for fleas because of their life cycle. We found treating the pets was easier than bombing the house.
Sprinkle seven dust on the carpet let stand approximately 8 hrs then vacuum, this worked at my house!
Move him to your room until the exterminator can come.
Mix equal parts mule team borax (I usually find at Walmart) and baking soda. Sprinkle onto carpets and along baseboards. Leave alone for 3 days. Vacuum. Repeat at least once. This is my non toxic go to for fleas. Safe for kids and any pets. Takes a few days to a few weeks depending on how bad your infestation is but it does work. The key is to repeat before eggs hatch. That’s why it can take 2-3 weeks of sprinkle, sit, vac, repeat. Good luck!
Treat your pets with quality flea meds. Every single month all the animals. For at least one year.
Have to have exterminated sooner
Like someone else said, do the flea bombs. Take all the linens off, open all the closets and drawers, do a couple bombs per room, and leave for the day. That should work, if it doesn’t then try an exterminator - but this time of year with the house closed up if you use enough bombs and as long as all the bedding is off and there is no laundry around and everything is open it should do the trick. This happened to us with kittens several years back and it worked. If you still have any pets in the house make sure you take them to be dipped that day and leave them at the vet for the day so everyone comes back fresh.
Had a similar issue when we brought a new car home. We had orkin pest control coming every other week to spray every room even the rooms with no carpet and the basement. And every night when I got home from work I would put blankets and sheets into the dryer on high temp incase any were on them, also put carpet cleaner on the carpets and couches wait a bit then vacuum every night. Between orkin and all that it didnt take long to get them gone. Also the Orkin guy told us we could do a test to see if any are left by putting dish soap on a plate on the floor in different rooms over night. Fleas cant get out of the dish soap so you can see if there are any left
I had this problem a couple of months ago and they only bit my toddler too. No one else was getting bitten, we had to call pest control because no matter what we did they kept coming back. It took us two treatments but they are gone!
Research Diatomaceous Earth
Yeah, we also put comet along the walls. They don’t like it for some reason. So we vacuumed, washed floors and bedding and vacuumed couches and swept and mopped and then we paired comet the cleaner along all the baseboards. That’s what worked
Give the dog a bath with dawn dish soap lather him up and leave it sit for about 5 min it’s better then dog shampoo
Treat the stuffed animals and toys made of fabric…
Tea tree oil and peppermint oil help a ton
Baking soda on the carpet every time you vacuum
Raid flea foggers from walmart
This stuff is some of the best on the market. Spray beds every morning and night before getting if you feel necessary. Spray in corners and along walls as fleas lay eggs in these places. We had an outbreak in the spring. And we have a fair size house. This stuff is really good. Can get off amazon in a pack of three, which is great. Vets suggest this flea spray. Good luck
My aunt is a dog groomer and went to vet school and we had a flea problem early last year and she suggested diamaterious earth. Spread it on the carpet and anything affected. Let it sit and then sweep up excess and then vacuum and wash. It actually helped alot. I did couches and beds and inside drawers and toys… anywhere they could be hiding. The only downfall is it is ALOT of cleaning afterwards. Lots of laundry and just washing of things. And make sure you sweep up alot of the extra before vacuuming cuz we actually clogged and killed one of our vacuums when we didnt (luckily we had an extra) good luck. I know how annoying they can be and how desperate you can feel when your baby is getting attacked
Are you 100 % die its fleas? Almost sounds like bed bugs. Most blood sucking insects actually prefer a certain blood type. That may be why he’s the only one being bitten. Hope it goes well
For heavens sake, check his bed, and your furniture for bed bugs. If the bites still remain a mystery, call a professional exterminator. I don’t care how much it costs, find the money somewhere. Don’t let your baby get ate up like that, even if you have to let him sleep with you.
Night lights around the room , with a little bowl of water underneath each. Fleas will jump to the light and fall into the water and drown. It works! Plus of course, wash and treat EVERYTHING in the room.
Spray the floor and vaccum floor for 14 days , so the eggs have time to hatch, sprays will not kill the eggs.
You need a professional exterminator for fleas. Everything needs to be removed from the floor and the exterminator sprays flea hormone all over the home. You need to stay out of the home for a couple days. I have heard some people are more allergic to fleas than others. This is nothing to take lightly. My sister’s infant daughter got meningitis from these fleas. They carry many diseases. GOOD LUCK I wish you well.
In my experience, the exterminator is the easiest was to be sure you get rid of them!! Our exterminator does the initial treatment and then a follow up treatment again in 2-3 weeks. And then will do a second follow up treatment, for additional cost, if needed. We’ve done all the home remedies and store products. It would have saved us a lot of $$ and time if we would have just done the exterminator first! And yes, certain people are more susceptible to them!!
Sounds like fleas we had them in the house and I get bites on my feet and legs it takes forever to get rid of them we sprayed and put out foggers no more fleas but we have spray on hand…could also be bed bugs and they are no fun either we sprayed our beds and put them in a mattress covering zipped them up and went through stuffed toys and all of the clothes couch and chairs sprayed every thing thankfully no more of them either
Seven dust kills fleas but you gotta vaccuum alot
Are you sure its fleas? Sounds alot like bed bugs! Fleas would bite everyone. Bed bugs typically go for the best blood type. Also, females resemble fleas and males resemble stink bugs, just smaller.
Sounds like bed bugs & these type of bugs pick a host & attempt to stay stuck to that one person. Also if a person isnt “allergic” to the bug there may not be a noticeable reaction so could be getting bit & not know. Try to keep things as clean as possible but a professional is needed
Love how you just got rid of your pets (which wasn’t even the problem obviously) heartless bitch. Call a fucking exterminator
I had this problem 3 years ago my dog got fleas really bad it took me well over 6 months to get rid of them I ended up throwing away every rug in my house had hard wood floors bought bed bags at Walmart (plastic)and put beds in them don’t forget to duck tape the zipper . It took a long time flea bombs , sprays, diatomaceous earth the bowls with water a flea egg can sit dormant for a long time and movement can hatch them also if you don’t have any pets anymore that will help . They prefer a animal host . I was the only one in the house they liked to bite .
Salt on carpet vacuum every day and resalt
