For those of you who have kids that DO believe in Santa, are all the gifts from Santa? How do you give presents? Do you do it on Christmas Day or Eve? Any traditions you do as well? Do you guys put all the gifts out at once on Christmas, or do you put all the ones from you under before?
This is our first year being able to do presents for our little guy. We did all bigger gifts from us, and were basically doing smaller things plus stocking from Santa were also doing two present Christmas eve (pjs and a book) and everything else is Christmas morning. Gifts from us go under once they are wrapped and ready, Santaās goes under Christmas eve
We tend to put only a few presents out before Christmas and then once heās asleep we put the rest out on Christmas Eve. We always give him one, maybe two things from Santa, and we explain to him every year that he can only ask Santa for one or two special things because there are soooo many other kids out there that Santa provides for. I try not to let them be super expensive items because I want him to know that itās not about all that.
In our houses, we buy them and send them to Santa to wrap and deliver. We do a Christmas Eve box with pajamas, a book, a movie and snacks and everything else gets put out after they go to bed.
Helps me to keep from having to explain all the Amazon deliveries
I wrap all the gifts ahead of time and place them under the tree except for one special gift from Santa. It goes under the tree after the tiny people go to bed Christmas Eve. Stockings are also filled that night with goodies from Santa.
As for other traditions, we have a special Christmas Eve box. Each year I fill it with fun pjs, snacks, hot chocolate and a fun new board game. The kids get to open it together Christmas Eve afternoon and then we spend the evening listening to Christmas music, having snacks, and playing the game together.
Christmas Eve we do pjs every year for them to wear to bed (usually Christmas themed). We then make snacks, watch a holiday movie, then read the night before Christmas.
Christmas morning, they get their stocking until everyone in the house is awake. Then we open presents. From Santa, theyāll each get something small. The rest are from us (or anyone else that had gifted us).
Depending on if we have family visiting or not usually determines whether or not we open family gifts (besides from mommy & daddy) on Christmas Eve or wait until Christmas.
The expensive presents always come from the parents. The less expensive from Santa. We do the 4 rules
- something to Read
- something to wear
- Something they need
- something they want
The big gift is from Santa here. Its never wrapped. I wrap everything christmas eve when hes sleeping. We do a christmas eve box as well.
We decorate a little for the holidays, but Santa brings the tree and all the gifts. He knows where all the ornaments are stored in the garage, and where mom and dad hid the presents. Because heās magic. Keeps the kids from getting into things early, and thereās less worry about babies/toddlers and the tree. It also makes Christmas morning super exciting.
We do smaller gifts such as socks, bubble baths, pajamas, stockings, candies, etc. from Santa. And the other gifts from mom and dad we also mix them up under the tree and play elf on Christmas morning and hand out presents one by one! So itās not so chaotic and more enjoyable for everyone
I give most gifts from us. The big gift is always from mom and dad. Santa gives a few gifts. We put all gifts from us under the tree ahead of Christmas then Santaās gifts go out Christmas Eve after kiddo is in bed. Another tradition we do is everyone gets Xmas eve jammies.
All gifts come from Santa and they are wrapped under the tree on Christmas morning.
No santa here just gifts under the tree
We have always done stockings and one larger gift from Santa. The remaining gifts are from us, (mom and dad). That way the kiddos have the excitement of seeing what Santa brought them and then we get to see how happy they are with what we gave them too. Plus, I always put chocolate coal in the stocking for my husband and myself and our girls get an absolute kick out of it! I also plan to do a Christmas eve box this year that will have Christmas pajamas, new slippers, a book. And then I will have a basket of goodies filled with popcorn, snacks, and hot chocolate to enjoy while watching Christmas movies!
Only 1 and the stocking stuffers are from Santa.
Christmas presents under the tree i get credit forā¦ Santa only gets credit for the stocking. I also do the pajamas and movie with snacks and hot chocolate in Christmas eve
We have no tried and true rules other than matching pjs on Christmas Eve. My sonās birthday is Christmas Eve as well so he gets TONS of gifts so we try and keep it small, but wellā¦
I usually make the smaller gifts from Santa! Like my youngest is getting a peppa phone and my oldest some princess barbies. Everything big and expensive comes from us
Santa brings one present and fills the stalking.
The santa present is usually the very best or the most favorite thing that is being asked for. Santa does not wrap the present. Also, santa gets things that mom wouldnāt get for example one year was a hover board and the next was an electric scooter.
This year my oldest knows so sheās expected to keep the magic alive for her baby sister. Sheās mostly excited to move the stupid elf every night!
one inexpensive gift per child from santa & their stockings.
And from us, we do a Christmas eve box(pjs, movie & a snack) & any other gifts.
Presents under the tree are from parents. One they want, one they need, one to wear and one to read. Others are from Santa, which they wake up to Christmas morning.
We mark the more expensive gift from us and the least expensive smaller gifts from Santa.
We do expensive gifts from us, everything else from Santa
I only do something small from Santa. Like a book and teddy bear:
I want to keep the magic alive for the kids, but I donāt also want to set the bar to high for gifts from us, nor do I want my kids talking about how great or expensive a gift from Santa was to other kids. And a year like this affecting families financially like it has, there are going to be families who canāt afford much or nothing, leaving kids to think Santa put them on the naughty list. Too bad to get a gift, feel special or loved.
Santa brings one gift and fills the stockings on Christmas Eve.
Everything else is from mom and dad.
Also in our home Santa stops bringing you a gift at 13. He then only fills your stockings.
On Christmas Eve my son gets to unwrap one box that has a pair of Christmas pajamas, a Christmas movie, and a snack that is from us. On Christmas morning Santa will bring 1-2 big presents and leave them unwrapped along with his stocking. Everything else is wrapped and from his dad and I. We put all gifts from us under the tree before Christmas and hang the stocking until Santa comes and leaves his gifts and fills the stocking
Typically 3 or 4 are from santa. He brings them xmas eve
My mom always made everything from Santa. With my son, we have done everything from Santa, stocking included except one gift āusually larger itemā from us parents. Now heās 12 and doesnāt believe
Expensive items were from my parents. Toys and whatnot were from Santa. Thatās how my parents did it and how we plan to do as my kids get older
Santa comes on Christmas eve and brings one present and it never a super big present. This is for a few reasons. One, not all parents can afford big presents so why would Santa bring you a PS5 and your friend a sweater. Second why should Santa get all the glory. Mom and Dad worked hard to out those presents under the tree. He also brings the stockings.
Santa brings cheap things bubbles, chocolate etc the rest comes from us Iām not letting that fat arse in a red suit take credit for gifts weāve brought with our hard earned cash nah seriously tho my kids have a lot of cousins who donāt get much but always something small from Santa so we coordinate as a family to get the kids similar gifts from Santa
Soā¦ours is a bitā¦complicated?
If my mom or husband have to work christmas day, we so ours on christmas eve.
Present wiseā¦my 7 year old is the only one really into making lists. Soā¦giftwiseā¦
-5-6 presents (each) from us. One ābigā present. Never āexactlyā whatās on their list (oldest asked for a switch, hes getting eye camera and games for the ps3 that we already own instead). The rest are smaller like board games.
-Santa brings 2-3 presents but they are for both boys to share (play tent, walkie talkies, and twister this year)
-they get one smaller thing from thier list, and itās from each other. So oldest had a nerf gun on his listā¦which we got but its āfromā my youngest.
Oldest picked out a peek-a-boo blues clues doll for the youngest.
Stocking = Santa. All gifts are labeled Mrs.clause, and all the reindeer. A special heart to heart gift = mom (me)
Our kids get Christmas PJās and a Christmas blanket on Christmas Eve. They wear the pjs while we ride around looking at lights.
We bake cookies, make reindeer food and feed the reindeer, read the Nativity Story and Twas the Night.
Big presents come from Santa, clothes from us.
Shit gifts (you know, the cheap stuff that theyāll forget about in a couple days) from Santaā¦ do not give that guy ā¦ask the credit for your hard earned money
Santa brings one gift to my house for each of my kids and itās usually a $30 or less gift. Everything else is from us. Each of my kids has their own wrapping paper so I donāt have to write their names on a label. And the Santa gift is wrapped in āSantaā wrapping paper. We usually unwrap gifts from the family (grandma, auntie, coudin) on Christmas eve and gifts from mom and dad on Christmas morning
we do stocking filled with candy, personal items and small toys and 1 large item are from santa. The rest is from us.
This year beyond the stocking and small things, my daughter is getting a play tent and my son is getting a gaming chair from santa.
We do the biggest best presents from us, and the old fart brings the stocking & I have a Santa Hat, that has unwrapped gifts from Santa in it. Iām not having a mythical old man get all the credit for the best gifts & then have my kids go to school & brag about what Santa brought & hurt some other kids feelings.
We donāt spend any more than $20 on a āgiftā from Santa.
The present is wrapped in special paper with a Santa tag in it to make it different to all the other presents from us
All of our presents come from santa i wrap them all and put them under the tree as i buy them since my girls are still young
Santa brings socksā¦that way all kids who donāt understand why Santa brings some kids extravagant gifts and others not . Quit pretending
Santa gives one or 2 gifts unwrapped with a bow. Everything else from us wrapped under the tree. Stockings stuffed from santa.
My children ages are from 28 to 16 there are 6 of them no grandbabies yet only grandpups and grandcats and only two are married and they still get Santa presents and they all come home for Christmas and get pjs for Christmas eve and we make cookies and hot coco Christmas morn gifts from santa stocking and present from me. The girls wrap all the gifts from me and i do santa since they were born we also freed santa reindeer and cookies and milk for santa he leaves those outside in different places we live on a 150 acre ranch so many memories so much fun
Santa brings about half of the presents but we put them all out together on Christmas so it looks like they have a ton of stuff. We wrap Santa presents in different paper.
Everything comes from Santa. Even My older kids get stuff and they act surprised for their younger sisters. My mom still does it with me as wellā¦ Lol
I wrap. My parents didnāt. We open Christmas day, but I thought my Uncle was brilliant. Every year when they left for my grandmaās, my uncle ran back in and set out all of the gifts. They would home, open everything, and then heād sleep in the next day.
Dependsā¦ I do 3 Jesus gifts (from me) its a need a want and a random gift. Than I do 1 big gift from Santa pwr kid and jist fill stocking with random stuff. This year kids are with their dad so im doing 1 big gift to all kids from Santa and the 3 from me.
Usually Santa brings one bigger item and fills the stockings. Santa does not usually give big expensive items though, because we know not everyoneās Santa can get them a nintendo or an ipad and didnāt want kids wondering why Santa got their friends a nintendo and not them. So IF they get something like that it is from mom and dad.
Santa brings pjs, a book, and a board game at our house. Everything else is mom and dad
We are putting out all of our gifts Christmas eve night for the kiddos to wake up to. All will be from us and one gift will be from Santa. We were considering maybe a book each or a toy each that is not a big expensive item. It took a lot of convincing to get my husband even on board with Santa we arent making a huge thing out of it for many reasons.
The gifts from us are wrapped. Santa brings 1-2 non elaborate, unwrapped gifts to open on Christmas morning and fills their stockings.
santa brings whatever you chose santa to bringā¦in my house santa brings everything except a gift or 2 from us
All presents get put under tree after she goes to bed Christmas eve, on Christmas eve she can open one presents and as far as how many from Santaā¦ I wing it.
On Christmas Eve, the kids get new Christmas jammies. For Christmas, the stockings and the smaller presents are from Santa. The biggest few are from the parents. Kids can open their stockings without everyone present, but nothing wrapped can be touched until the whole family is awake.
We do one present on Christmas Eve from mom and dad that has jammies to wear that night, Christmas movies, and Christmas books with some snacks. On Christmas morning kids get all big presents from mom and dad, and a handful of practical gifts from Santa and stockings filled by Santa.
Santa always brings the ābigā gift that is left unwrapped and usually 2 maybe 3 small things wrapped under the tree. My mom always bought us pjs to wear christmas night and we unwrapped them before bed christmas eve.
There is always a game or pajamas given the night before Christmas from us and then Christmas Day everything is from Santa (20+ presents) and wrapped. Stockings full, etc. Nothing is labeled from us. Even family brings over gifts and says Santa brought them.
The more expensive big gifts are from Santa. We wait until Christmas morning to open, but do a Christmas Eve box with pajamas, a movie, a book, and some snacks. Nothing goes out until heās asleep unless they are for people not in the household.
We do a couple inexpensive gifts from Santa. I donāt ever want my kid to go back to school/groups and brag Santa brought him the most expensive gift ever. Not every family can afford pricey items and I donāt want to be responsible for breaking some kids heart for them thinking they arenāt good enough for Santa.
On Christmas Eve I give my kids a Christmas Eve box. Usually in the early afternoon so they can enjoy it before the day is over. On Christmas morning there is one gift from Santa under the tree. The expensive stuff is from mom, dad and Grandma. Iāve always taught my kids Santa is fair to all kids. I personally think itās not fair when people say the expensive stuff is from Santa. Because other kids arenāt so lucky. Why would Santa leave one kid a play station but another kid a jacket or a toy truck.
We bake cookies for Santa and read from the Bible on Christmas eve. After the kids are asleep, my husband and I put all the gifts out and fill stockings. He eats the cookies. Everything comes from Santa at our house.
Santa brings whatās in their stockings and we take credit for everything else plus I kinda do feel like it doesnāt seem fair that our kids got great gifts while their friends maybe didnāt get as much from Santaā¦we do a Christmas Eve box with Christmas pajamas to wear that night a book movie and popcorn, reindeer food outside, milk and cookies then get up Christmas morning and let them open everything. But ours are only 3&5
Big purchases are from mom and dadā¦stocking stuffer gifts are always from Santa. I give them on Christmas Day (Christmas Eve heās with his dad) I put all the gifts under the tree Christmas Eve before I go to bed.
We donāt do Santa in our house, but I donāt believe in doing the big gift as a Santa gift. There are tons of kids that go back from Christmas break and listen to kids talk about how they got an Xbox or a hover board or something else extravagant from Santa, but they got a book or a small toyā¦because thatās all their parents could afford. They donāt know about money or any of that, but they do think that Santa likes the other kids more, because he brought them big expensive gifts.I was the kid that didnāt have money growing up and it would make me feel bad.
We do stockings, a small gift and a Christmas build a bear from Santa. Everything else is from mom and dad.
We opened immediate family Christmas eve, Christmas morning was Santa and stockings, Christmas day was grandmas house.
We do christmas eve boxes(matching jammies, movie snack new cup) the big present is from mom and dad, then whatever i feel like making from santa lol ! We never do the big gift from santa cyz we always think about those kids parents who cant afford mych and that kid waking up going oh santa got me a coloring book and someother kid over here like santa got me an xbox
Santa does one gift, plus a stocking full of goodies- we take credit for the rest haha. Christmas Eve we always do a special gift box that has chocolates, pajamas, an ornament and a Christmas movie. We put all the presents out before Christmas except for Santa stuff thatās wrapped in secret wrapping paper I have stored away. I also wrap everything in the stocking so it takes a bit when she opens it first thing, and then we stop to eat a special breakfast (snowman pancakes etc) and then get into the rest of the gifts!
Everything at my house comes from Santa.
I tried doing the Santa thing and my kids literally told me is us not Santa smh
We have Santa bags for our kids. Everything from Santa goes in the Santa bag & it helps with not going overboard. I normally put the less expensive gifts from Santa. I donāt want Santa to bring my kids expensive stuff when their friends families might not be as fortunate.
As for gifts from us we do 1 thing you need, 1 thing you want, 1 thing you read, 1 thing you wear, 1 thing you learn, & 1 thing you experience. We open the gifts from us on Christmas Day but we have a Christmas Eve box that we open after dinner on Christmas Eve. It has popcorn, hot coco, a Christmas movie, a Christmas book, PJs, & a Christmas ornament for both kids.
In our home Santa usually gets the medium to small items. 1 gift each from santa. The rest are from mama and daddy. We also do a xmas eve box which is usually from nana or their aunties
I do all Santa gifts wrapped in the same wrapping paper (im a foster parent so if I have more than 1 kiddo they each have different paper) the stocking is from Santa and a small piece of the paper is at the bottom. So they have to open their stocking first to find out which stack of gifts are theirs. I do not put big ticket gifts from Santa. Just because Foster kids likely havenāt ever had a Christmas that big. And thereās a good chance they may not again. So I do more of the āneedsā from Santa with some of the smaller wants. Like if I get one of my kids an Xbox, thatās from me. But a few games may be from Santa. And that way they donāt go to school and tell any less fortunate kids Santa brought them something crazy when Santa brought that kid some socks and shoes.
Presents from Santa are always smaller gifts and stockings. Some parents canāt afford big, expensive gifts so when a child goes back to school bragging about what they got, it can make other children feel like they werenāt good enough for not getting something better.
My kids are all under five so NO PRESENTS UNDER THE TEEE BEFORE CHRISTMAS DAY!!! Itās too temping for them to open them. But Santa only brings one gift. Honestly though Iām pretty sure they think Santa brings them all Once they can read better I think theyāll understand, but Santa presents (if theyāre wrapped) are in their own paper and presents from mom and dad are in a different paper.
Santa brings one modest gift per kiddo.
I used to put all the presents under the tree early, but not since we have a toddler in the house!
My children have a wish from Santa, and whatever else they get is from me, family and friends etc. They write their letter to Santa with their wish present, and leave him a mince pie, glass of milk and a carrot for Rudolph. In my house, Santa doesnāt bring technology. I donāt buy technology for my children anyway, but definitely not as a Christmas present from Santa.
My kids get 2 stockings. 1 left in their room. It has fruit, cereal bar, juice & a busy toy (legos, craft kit, puzzle etc). Iām not a morning person. Going from sound asleep to total chaos doesnāt make a happy mommy so I started this years ago. Itās a mood saver! The quietest child gets to open gifts first. Then when Iām awake enough I play Christmas music to signal itās time to come downstairs. Their other stocking that is front of the tree is the only thing from Santa. I donāt put emphasis on Santa. It bothers me that some kids get expensive gifts & others donāt but all the songs, movies etc put emphasis on ānaughty & niceā. So Iāve told them Santa only fills stockings. Their stocking contains some small items, may have an unwrapped near it.
We donāt put āfromā on any gifts. So they never know which ones are from who (santa, parents, extended family?) They are greatful to everyone equally.
That being said, Santa usually arrives during our annual xmas party and brings a small gift ($5-10) for each kid
Santa fills the stocking and also brings the big ticket item. The rest are from me. I wrap all presents on the 23rd and place under the tree on the 24th when she goes to bed. Santaās gift is usually wrapped in a different paper. Also, Christmas Eve she gets to open one present from the family (Secret Santa) and also gets a Xmas box from me with a PJ and a special book to read that night.
We have Santa bring several cheaper presents wrapped in red paper and the big/expensive items are from us.
We do our family presents on christmas eve. Then santa gifts and stockings on christmas morning. Usually Santa will bring the kids books and or movies. And one small item that they wanted. As for family gifts we do one thing they want, one thing they need and something to read. Its helps us keep a pretty fair budget.
We have 3 teenage boys, so instead of little toys in their stockings we give hygiene products. My 9 yr old still gets toys.
One middle priced gift each from Santa and a stockingā¦the rest are from us.
Santaās gifts are usually a family kind of gift like games or movie in my house, usually not the most expensive.
Helps kids view the world a little bit in a fare way.
I do one ābigā unwrapped gift. Sheās getting a new play kitchen this year that I paid $35 for at a liquidation store.
Make the gifts from Santa realistic and achievable. You child might get the new PS5 from Santa but another child gets a colouring book- and it makes the child wonder what they did or didnāt do to get a PlayStation. Make sense? Keep the big stuff from you.
Affordable gifts should be from Santa. So that some kids donāt get an Xbox and other kids get an inexpensive toy and wonder why Santa didnāt bring them the fancy stuff too. Not all parents can afford to go all out. Keep the basic things from Santa so everyone feels included
I donāt even write who they are from because my kids donāt even leave the wrapping on long enough to see who itās from I just wrap their gifts in one style wrapping paper per kid. All of our gifts go under the tree at once but thatās because I always end up waiting until the last minute to wrap
All gifts are from Santa. Except the ones bought by family members, those are opened christmas eve. They eventually stop believing and realize all those years it was you that bought it. Let the kids have some fun believing
One gift from Santa and something thatās not a big ticket item.
On Christmas eve I sneakily put a gift from āChristmas eve elfā by the fire place with Christmas pjās, book, and snack. Then at night I put all the presents under the tree all labeled from random Christmas people (Santa, Rudolf, Olaf, frosty, dasherā¦ya know) oh yeah and santa gets a can of coke cola with his cookie, cuz im not putting milk out just for it to go bad.
One small gift from Santa with their stocking. Everything else/big ticket items under the tree, from us.
Affordable gifts are from Santa the expensive ones are from me and their step dad.
One gift from Santa and its not wrapped. My kids just know which one is theres because they probably asked for it. All other gifts are from mom and dad. Our tradition is that they get to open new Jammie on Christmas eve as well as one small inexpensive gift. They are teenagers now but still look forward to the new pjs!
All presents go under at once. We do special things that were asked for from Santa as Santa gifts. We donāt have a lot of money but we always do one or two things from him. And depending on how much we could afford and what our plans are depends if we open on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. Santa gifts are always opened Christmas morning and stockings too.
Christmas eve we open gifts for each other so he realizes that some gifts are from us. Thatās when he gets the big gifts. Then he wakes up Christmas day to see his Santa gifts under the tree. He only asks Santa for a few things and those things are what he brings.
We only do one or two inexpensive gifts from Santaā¦more expensive gifts and such come from us!
Santa brings a reasonable, affordable gift along with a stocking filled with practical items (toothbrush, toothpaste, socks etc) and maybe a treat, and more expensive (if they are getting them) items come from mom & dad.
Christmas Eve my girls got new pjs and slippers wrapped up and got to open one package. Christmas Day their gifts were hidden. They always loved that. I chose one of the most wanted gifts and wrap it in Santa paper-didnāt use that paper for anything else and wrapped it
Extra pretty with ribbons and bows. Only one present was from Santa. The rest were from mom and dad!!
All the great ones come from meš Then I have a couple eh ones from Santa lol
