This may be a silly question, but where do you hang your stockings if you don’t have a fireplace? I couldn’t figure it out last year, so I didn’t bother hanging them, but I’d like to put them up this year. I just have no idea where to put them. I don’t really feel like putting nails in random places in the walls

I have literally used thumb tacs/push pins to hang them in wall before. Obviously I set them up nicely in front of the tree on Christmas bc they were till heavy once they were full…but just to display them it worked out great for me for years.
I either hang them on the wall or use decorative stocking hooks to hang them from a shelf. Depends on how I decorate that year.

Get some hooks that come off easily. We always did that before we had a fireplace. Then when the stockings are filled, lay them by the tree
I started hanging the kids stockings on their bedroom doors with an over the door wreath hanger. Christmas morning when they get up, if the stocking is missing they know Santa came! They loved this! It was funny because we would always hear them get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and we would hear them sigh when they realized the stocking was still there! Santa takes the stocking down, fills it and leaves it under the tree! Have fun! They grow up quick!

I bought a pretty wooden coat rack and wound some battery lights on it. We hang our stockings on that next to the tree

I have a large decorative mirror that has hooks along the bottom so we hang ours on the hooks. I’ve seen decorative wooden shelves that also have hooks.

I hang mine on a shelf! I have stocking hangers with Christmas decor which are cast iron that sit on the shelf. There is a hook in front that you hang the stocking from! Would also work on a table!

As children, we hung ours on the bookcase ends, my kids had stocking hangers that sat on the shelves. Grandkids and others hung theirs from heavy-duty Command hooks wherever was appropriate in their houses of the time.
Ours hang on the stair banisters. The second floor stairway is open to the living room and the banister is an easy visible place for them.
They make metal stocking hooks that are like giant paperweights and sit on a shelf where it can hang off the edge of the shelf
We put ours behind and around the tree. I use the stick on hooks to hang them and then use the hooks year round for our dog leash and her vest and what not

Honestly wherever is convenient for you. I have in the past used command hooks on the wall. Fridge. Banisters. Or even just waited until Santa came and propped the stuffed stocking against the tree.
They got good heavy decorative stuff with hooks on them, use a coat tree, or even blanket ladder
