Breastfeed for 2 years.
As long as you damn well want. Or not! Do you!
Get a nipple guard , but breastfeeding shouldnât hurt unless you have dry or cracked nipples I breastfed for 15 months and I only had pain when I had mastitis and I also had some sores from my nipples being too dry

Do what best for you mama⤠As long as baby is thriving and happy.
Breast feed till you feel comfortable quitting, formula sucks yes but as long as you are feeding your baby itâs all good. If breastfeeding hurts too much then slowly start introducing formula and stop breastfeeding. It dont make you a bad mom and dont feel bad, breastfeeding is hard and takes a toll on you. Itâs ok to stop dont let anyone make you feel any type of way for not wanting to do it
From what Iâve heard from Lactation Nurses is not enough of the breast is in the babyâs mouth. Been a while, havenât nursed in 37 years. I so enjoyed my babies nursing. Such quality time
Try laser therapy on the nipples it helps toughin the nipples
I breastfed for 11 &1/2 mths if u can breastfeed I recommend it
Get a Nipple cover!! It works amazing!
I breastfed for 4 months with my first child because he sucked so hard he made my nipples crack and bleed. Didnât matter what I did. I had to stop. Some women have no problems, and some women do. Donât stress yourself out over this, youâll cause unnecessary stress for your baby as well. Your other option is to pump and formula feed. Trade off.
Any time given is a plus !!
If you can then stop !
You gave your baby a little head start !
You shouldnât be in pain while feeding. You may have to try to have your baby checked for tongue tie. Latching wrong can be a problem, bacterial infection like thrush can also cause pain. Do you have pain when you pump? All that being said you have to do whatâs best for you and if youâve tried everything and nothing is working donât feel badly if you decide to bottle feed instead. If pumping isnât painful you could even try to do that. Do what you need to do. If you want to make it work then get more help, but if you just want to stop donât let guilt make you miserable.
I did 4mths each for all my babies. It was perfect.
It does hurt for about 6 weeks. Your body needs to get used to the constant nursing. Itâs like having chapped lips. It stopped hurting for me around like 6 weeks. I vote hang in there if you want to breastfeed, but like many others have said, youâre still a great mama if you choose not to breastfeed anymore.
Check lips to make sure they arenât curled inward. If you large breats the baby might not be getting enough in. Iâve never heard a lactation consultant say it just happens sometimes. It should not be painful.
My wife was breastfeeding our son and she struggled the whole 6 months she breast fed him - either he was too lazy or he was uncomfortable while feeding because sheâs big breasted, or heâd get distracted, or she wasnât able to produce enough for him as he got older. She used Lanolin cream between feedings but at 6 months they both pretty much decided they were done in reality, any breast milk you can give the baby is great BUT donât feel shame for quitting if you feel the time is right.
I had to stop after 2 weeks because of sores, isnt for everyone i treidd pumping but just to beat up⌠ended up having give my daughter the super formula the most pricey but worth it, she was lactose intolerant. Nothing wrong with it, they have formula for a reason! Just chose the best for your baby
They got the âgoldenâ milk from you, just make sure they have the right formula and nipple/bottle
With my daughter I only breastfeed for a month and she was premature. Sheâs 12 and has no issues whatsoever. My son is almost 2 and a half I had some pain with him within the first month and took a few days off to pump and give my nipples a break. After 2 days my nipples werenât as sore and I was able to breastfeed again without pain. I also had to wear a nipple shield as my nipples donât protrude. With him I breastfed for 3 months and ended up drying up once back at work. Bottom line whatever works best for u is whatâs best for the baby. Donât stress ur self over breastfeeding Itâs perfectly ok to do whatever u need to do.
I breastfeed 16 months. It was horrible at first. Come to find out she was tongue tied and not latching correctly. I used a lot of cream to sooth the pain. They had to toughen up.

You breast feed as long as you want.
