My daughter didnāt start sleeping all night until she was about 13 months
More activity throughout the day and shorter naps might help.
I recommend the book babywise but itās a Christian book and it works for so many people I know. But I also was lucky cause mine came out a sleep and nap champ.
Right first take the oats out his bottle. Heās been on the planet for 4 months. Not many babies/children sleep through the night especially at his age. Heās supposed to wake regularly for bottles. Just heās a baby. Let him be just that
Some of you momās should be ashamedā¦ I donāt even know why I still follow this pageā¦ at first I needed advice and figured out there was a better group where there is NO mom bashing and any that do get booted and you can post your question with no worries of this kinda thing happeningā¦ The admins need to do better work here
Pampers night time diapers, baby swaddled with a pacifier. Add rice to milk before bed. Make sure the baby is in a dark cool room. Sorry didnāt mean to sound like a list. Me and my other mom friends swear on those diapers contributing to sleeping at night.
Itās biologically normal for a baby so young to wake, please stop trying to force babies to sleep through the night just because your tired
My daughter has had the same issue for the whole year n nothing helps lol sheās now 1 and Iām still struggling sheās off n on
Baby wonāt sleep the night for a long time! Could be years. Welcome to mom life! Lol. Good luck.
Babies that age donāt always sleep through the night. Also putting oatmeal in bottles is dangerous
My son didnāt sleep through a night until he was three and a half years old. Some kiddos wake up a lot. Some donāt. Try a white noise machine and a good swaddling blanket. Other than that it sounds fairly normal.
Your baby might not sleep through the night yet, thatās not abnormal but it really sucks, but some babies donāt sleep through the night until a year old. Try a bit bigger of a bottle just before bed and cross your fingers. Good luck.
Babyās wake up throughout the night. It happens. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a through-the-night sleeper that early.
Itās normal for a baby to wake at night. Thatās what they are suppose to do. Also nothing but formula or BF for the first 6 months and all signs of readiness. Definitely stopped adding anything to a bottle itās a choking hazard plus the babyās gut isnāt developed enough for it. My kid just started aleeping through the night that is most nightās and heās almost 5 Years old. Hell even I wake to pee. So why would you expect a 4 month old to sleep all night when most are starving.
I was told to use rice cereal because the baby may be allergic to oatmeal. I maybe wrong because things have changed since my children were young. Babies seem
to sleep good during the day and wake up a lot a night. He/she will adjust when ready. Until then you sleep when the baby sleeps if it means you nap during the day than thatās what you will have to do. There are toys you can put on their carrier or swing that make music and are colorful that may keep baby awake. Until then you will have interrupted sleep. Also as stated in other comments try and keep the baby awake more during the day and especially near bed time. Also a warm bath before bed time may help. Good luck. Just remember all of us with children have been through this.
Just gotta deal with it mama . Eventually he will just be patient they are only this little once ā¦ And every baby is differentā¦ My 3 year old wakes up more then my 8 month old ! So just let them adjust to this new big world and do what you have to cuddle soothing music ,walking/ rocking really helped us ā¦ And most importantly ignore the hateful gals on here ! Youāre gonna be ok just sleepy lol Drink some coffee love
DO NOT PUT OATMEAL IN YOUR BABIES BOTTLE!!! Jesus christ!!! Nothing BUT FORMULA OR BREASTMILK IN BOTTLES LADIES! Think about it. Babies that young dont sleep thru the night, another bottle half way thru the night is fine but dont do stupid stuff like over feed your child ayeā¦MORE HARM THEN GOOD! Brainless
This is 100% normal, they digest quickly & waking frequently lowers their risk of SIDS. Adding rice/oatmeal to his bottle will upset his belly & is a choking risk. There isnāt a fix, all you can do is wait.
Donāt add anything to the bottle, most babies at that age and even up to a year donāt sleep through the night and this is normal but adding things to the bottle can cause more problems for their little system that isnāt ready for all that.
Thatās a typical baby. Some find their routine early and some are up thru the night.
How you feed your baby is your choice. I just want to say cereal in the bottle donāt fill up baby- it will act as a filler causing more hungerā¦ It takes away from the nutrients from the formula- the stuff babies bodies can break dwn easily. Just bc it says it on the bottle does not mean baby is absorbing those nutrients. If your giving cereal just give a small bowl of cereal mixed with baby juice-a very small amount of the cereal and juice- I did this. My babies ped told me too. It helps with constipation issues. Do it once a day as babies last meal.
I fed food to my babies early after they wanted full bottles around a month. +cereal in the bottle is a choking riskā¦ I am very aware many moms swear by doing this but their are too many factors contributing to the issues tour talking about with it and the choking does and has happened many times.
Some babies just need that extra milk. Right now their bodies are rapidly growing, they need the extra nutrition, dont try to stop it.
My son would always wake up at night more when he was going through a growth spurt. He didnāt sleep through the night until over a year old
Oooor Ra Chlo Wi you could give this young lady some non judgemental advice. She could be a new mother who doesnāt have the help of family. If you canāt help without name calling and judging just keep scrolling.
My daughter didnāt start sleeping through the night until she was 16 months
Good luckš
4 month old baby is still very young. Youāve got a few more months of night feeds ahead of you yet
Start a consistent bedtime routine is you havenāt and stick to it. If baby wakes up at night, do not interact. Do the business you need to do without talking or much eye contact, keep the lights dim. Once heās done eating, then itās right back down to sleep again. Also, see if he will start settling himself if he wakes up. He should be able to go longer stretches without needing to eat now. Fussing is different than crying and itās ok to let babe fuss and try to settle themselves back down.
Routine is key and consistency. But itās a babyās survival instinct that makes them wake up during the night. Cereals in a bottle can be a choking hazard. Pleas consult a pediatrician and feed cereals with a spoon.
You donāt, theyāre 4 months old. Theyāre still trying to get used to being outside of you. But if you want to try something to help them sleep better, maybe try a sound machine?
My son didnāt start sleeping through till he was about 17 months. Itās part of being a parent itās tiring but you just have to accept it you canāt force them. Definitely donāt but stuff in his bottle like not at 4 month I certainly wouldnāt feed at that age unless directed by the dr or a professional you could hurt your baby.
All babies are different. Youāre the closest person to your baby. As long as baby is having lots of wet nappies and poops every day, because of being on the bottle, is healthy then you do you and baby.
My son is 15 months and still wakes up atleast twice thru the night
I must have gotten lucky because my first two slept through the night around 4 months.
Mine slept 12 hours a night straight through from 2 weeks old so Iām not much help if baby has never slept through the night, but around 3 months when he started waking to eat in the night the pediatrician suggested I add 2 formula scoops of oatmeal infant cereal in his bedtime bottle to help keep him full through the night. He went back to sleeping 12 hours a night when I added that into his last bottle. He slept 10pm-10am straight through from 2 weeks old. Shake very well and use a fast flow nipple. Itās not enough to be a choking hazard as it doesnāt thicken it that much and there is no need to modify the nipples at all.
Pink Himalayan Salt Lamp! Soothing & beneficial!
Probably the 4 month sleep regression. Hang in there. You and baby will get through this. Take it one hour at a time if you need to. Better days are ahead.
Sleeping through the night is developmental.
No amount of food is going to allow them to sleep better.
Please stop adding things to his bottle, this is a choking hazard.
Your baby is 4mo old. Most adults donāt even sleep through the night.
This is parenthood. Welcome.
Its very normal for them to wake quite often.
4 month olds rarely sleep thro the nightā¦welcome to motherhood
Lmao good luck with that. My 2 year old still wakes up at night
On utube look up Flipping a Baby. Itās an Old Wives Tale but one thatās supposed to work to get baby to sleep through the night. Good luck.
There isnt a rule that they sleep through the nightšits just luck. Mines nearly 3 and had us up 3 times last night.
Poor babyās belly food is not.meant to be givem.before 6 months and itās an infant they will learn on there own time donāt have kids if your not ready for sleepless nights
Can you post if baby flipping works for you
I wouldnāt give that to a 4 month old! I didnāt give my son cereal until the preferred age-6 months good luck tho
Jesus christ woman! Your baby is 4 months oldā¦if you were expecting perfect nights sleeps you shouldnāt have had children. They wake for a whole host of reasons. Sometimesā¦its just because they want to be close to you. Giving him oatmeal so early just because you want to sleep more is selfishā¦your life is about the BABY now. Grow up.Some women really wind me up. X
Wrap your baby. Put something on each side and place baby on its side. Formula fed. My girl slept through from 6weeks old because i done this.
Grow up!! What the hell did you expect when you got pregnant?? Everything youāre doing is so unsafe.
Heās 4 months they do donāt tend to sleep through he wonāt be scared of the dark also donāt give him food shouldnt really start weaning until 6 months x
My son is 3 months and would get up every 2 hrs on the dot. I put a sound machine in and now he only gets up around 3 or 4 in the morning for a feeding and back off to sleep.
i think telling the poor exhausted woman she shouldnt have had kids is bang out of order guys. we all know babies dont come with manuals, and weve all been given bad advice by well meaning family members. All you have to say is baby is too young to digest solids or to sleep thru, try again in a few months. The bad mother shouts are seriously uncalled for.
Luck & bedtime routine!
My doctor is talking about into to foods and getting started at her 4 month check up
4 months is still pretty young especially to be adding anything to his bottle. Their little tummies are either just being able to handle purĆ©e or depending on the baby arenāt ready for it. heās going to wake up for a feeding , then sleeping through the night is not a definite. My 14month Old sometimes does but most of the time heās up 1-3 times at 4 months they also go through a growth spurt which causes them to eat more. Youāll just have to get used to not sleeping as much as before you became a mom.
I have twins, they just turned two, theyāre still now sleeping through the night! But hang in there! I think our body just get used to it with time
Hes just 4 months still tiny hel get into a routine when hes ready my 1 year old still gets up every now and again
Your baby is only 4 months oldā¦ my little one is 9 months and still doesnāt sleep through the night. And I donāt expect him to. At 4 months he woke up every 2 hours. They are babiesā¦ itās normal. I was told to never give anything but formula or breastmilk from a bottle, itās a major choking hazard.
My one year old has only recently started to sleep through the night adding stuff to your babies bottles at 4 months is just gonna cause an upset stomach so he definitely wont sleep through the night. Be blessed that your baby wants to be close to you, take every sleepless night, every dirty nappy, every tear. Thatās parenthood right there. I used to walk around like a zombie most days itās just how it is, also if youāre stressing about the sleepless nights your baby will sense that. Play lullabies.
Give it time darlin! 4 months is young yet!
my first two dropped the 2 am feed at 6 months ans slept through at a yearā¦ my third slept through from 6 weeks I know, she made up for it as a teenagerā¦ and my other three slept through at about 6 months ā¦my advice would be to take it one night at a time ā¦and enjoy this tie they grow up so fast and then one day will make you a nanny /grandma in y case 9 ties over lol
sorry typos keyboard needs a clean lol
They donāt!! No solids until 6 months. Bet his tummy hurts omg.
My daughter is 9 months rarley does she sleep right through even tho she eats so much solids through the day my son was 2 when he started sleeping through x
If you donāt already, getting a schedule is a huge help! I like the āMoms on Callā book/methods and we try to implement it as much as possible for our 2.5 month old. She still often wakes 2-3x a night to eat but she is a little younger than yours, but even the past few weeks of us following that routine has helped a lot with getting her waking up after a longer chunk of time (sleeps 830p-230a, 3a-6a on a good night). Also, we really like the Nested Bean sleeper, it seems to help her self soothe better if she is just restless. Hang in there momma, I know itās hard but it will hopefully pass soon!
Heās too young to be sleeping through the night. Also giving him oats at 4month old is not right. I donāt know which peadatrician approved of it but for my son the doctor didnāt allow any solids until he was close to 6 months before that he was bf exclusively. Only after 5th month does the doctor allow you to start mild foods like rice cereals once a day. So please check with your pead if giving him oats is right so young.
I am sorry but most 4 month old babys can not sleep though the night
I frist child did sleep 12 am to 5 am at 4 months but my second he didnāt sleep though till around a yr old but still even then if was not a sure thing
Why are these people having childrenā¦
Most 4 month olds do not sleep through the night
Safe Sleep and Baby Care ā Evidence Based Support
My now 15 year old didnāt sleep through the night til he was 3 so not sure how could get a 4 month old to sleep through the night still very young
lol itās a 4 month old baby. Baby!!! They donāt sleep. Get up. Cuddle. Feed it. Not oatmeal. Youāre gonna constipate the poor thing.
4 months is a bit young to sleep through the night. But Start a routine. And stick to it. My son was only waking 1-2 times a night by that age and by 6 months was sleeping through the night. Please donāt put oatmeal in his bottle. To much for his little tummy. 6 months is when you start introducing foods.
My Daughter is 13 months, she still wakes up 2-3 times a night for feedings, more if sheās teething or going through a growth spurt.
Babies dont really sleep thru the night until their abit older than 4 monthsā¦ feeding him more than just breastmilk/formula can stretch his tummy and eat more than usualā¦ plus feeding them before theyāre 6 months can mess the babies tummyā¦ the first 6 months should only be breastmilk or formulaā¦
You shouldnāt be doing oatmeal hon. You can thicken the milk with rice cereal but be sure to add first foods apple sauce or youll be dealing with painful constipation. Also bathing before bed and a nice rub with back lavender lotion.
Uh u dont welcome to motherhood mine didnt sleep through the night til 2 yrs. Also no rice cereal unless peditrican okd it
When my little ones wake up in the middle of the night I shoved a pucky in their mouth worked wonders
Some people prefer to feed whenever the baby is hungry- I took two months off of work so that I could develop a good schedule with my little one. Heās 2 months and usually eats 3-4 hours during the day and can go anywhere from 9pm-12am to 5am-7am in the morning without feeding or waking up except a brief moment
Most 4 month olds donāt sleep through the night as for the oatmeal i put a little in there bottle at 4 months
What the fuck. Seriously just what the fuck.
We have an almost 3 month old and we do his last feeding at 1130 at night and then he doesnāt eat again until 630/7am. When he wakes up Iāll go in quietly and change him, give him his pacifier and he usually falls back to sleep. We are also trying to get his routine more set as I go back to work in a couple of weeks. He eats 5-6oz at every feeding (he loves his food ) and that seems to help.
Not a 4 month old. Lol. Welcome to motherhood.
Donāt use oatmeal in the bottle. Youāll mess that poor babies stomach up before he has a chance. All he needs right now is breastmilk or formula. Heāll sleep through the night when he is ready. You canāt force it on him.
You donāt. 4 months is way to young to sleep through the night. Baby is waking because she/he needs you - Needs a change, needs to be fed, Needs your body to regulate their own temperature.
Ask again when the baby is a year old.
A 4mo wonāt sleep through the night.
Sleeping the night is a milestone
There is a four month sleep regression. A baby this young is not going to typically sleep through the night. Cereal this young will likely cause a belly ache which means even less sleep. Just remember this is a short time in your childās life.
All you people saying babies dont sleep thru the night at 4months old is crapā¦ my son is 5 months old today and has been sleeping through the night since he was about 2 and a half months every baby is different Pfeiffer son whoās about to be 7 years old start sleeping through the night at 3 months old but then got RSV at 6 months old and that stopped and still wakes up till this day if your baby is not sleeping through the night heās just not ready to every baby is different and will start sleeping through the night when heās ready until then gladly wake up and take care of your baby and when he does sleep through the night itāll be the best night ever good luck mama donāt listen to all these people cuz clearly their baby didnāt but that doesnāt mean that thereās anything wrong every babies different and heās not too young for oatmeal if heās ready for it my son started eating oatmeal and baby food at three and a half months old and heās happy healthy and the doctor approves
My son is 17 months and still doesnāt sleep through the night. Sometimes it does not matter what the baby eats. That is still a pretty young age for them to be sleeping through the night and there is a four-month sleep regression you should look up at that age.
Heās 4m/o. U just donāt. I have 4 kids. They were all different for sleeping. 1- slept threw the night as of like 2-3 months.
2- it was about 7m
3- he was 2 and still waking 1-2 times a night for different reasons
4-she would wake once for about 6m.
Usually between 6m-1y they have it down that they donāt need the night feeding anymore
My kid is 2 and still doesnāt sleep through the night.
My 6 yo slept through the night at like 3 weeks old. I did nothing to influence this. My twins didnāt sleep through the night consistently till like 8 or 9 months no matter what I did. Every baby is different, and they grow at their own pace. Be patient. 4 months is still pretty little yet.
Try giving him his bath before bed. Use a lavender was.
My son is 4.5 months and sleeps through the night. If he does wake up I give him a paci and he falls right back to sleep until Morning. Sometimes I have to do that 2-3 times! (No heās not hungry because if heās hungry he doesnāt stop crying even with a paci, so if heās hungry I feed him, so donāt say shit to me lol) a baby can sleep through the night at 2 months , so donāt listen to everyone. Also, my son eats cereal and baby food, because heās ready. If his doctor says itās ok & heās ready then itās okay!
none of mine slept thru the night til they were like 2ā¦ Good luck
Try feeding him/her a bigger bottle at nightā¦my son usually drinks 6oz bottles throughout the day but for his last bottle heās always extra hungry so he gets 8ozā¦he doesnāt always finish it but sometimes he does so I know heās fullā¦he use to sleep from 8p-7a but he had a cold for 10days and regressed to waking up at 5a itās still a pretty long stretch. Yours will gradually get there mama. Thereās nothing wrong with trying to find a way to get alil more sleep as long as your baby is taken care of and fed. Donāt let the mom shamers get to you!
Also, to the shamers commenting, just because you have more than 1 child doesnāt make you an expert, or know whatās best for someone elseās child
My 14 month old doesnāt sleep through the night
Lmaooooo heās 4 months old!!! He should be waking up, itās completely normal. Your pediatrician would also tell you to ensure heās eating every 4 hours and not over feeding.
You need some more patience. This process takes time. Every baby is different. They will eventually get it
You dont you get up with the baby.
He might be waking up because the oatmeal upset his stomach. Itās normal for the baby to wake up and want to eat through the night. The days are long but the years are short. Youāll get through this. Donāt rush it. Let the baby grow at their own pace.
