Remove the liner and wash it

Honestly I don’t think you can. I’d call the manufacturer and ask. But I almost guarantee they will tell you to toss it and get a new one.

Read the manual. Cleaning procedures vary with each individual brand. Most can be laundered.

I’d spray with vinegar and let air in the sun a few hours

Cedar essential oil and tea tree oil

Carpet shampooer If it has the attachments handle. I had to do that once when I brought my newborn home years ago the dog peed in the seat also, I used vinegar in the shampooer thing

Wash the cover per the manual and wipe the shell down with soapy water and a rag and then set it out in the sun

Remove the liner & wash it and wipe down the car seat

If you can’t remover the liner then I’d just gently scrub it with some laundry detergent n a lil bleach and hot water and leave it out to dry, I do that with my daughters lol

There is odoban to sanitize it

Get rid of the dog what happens if the dogs bites baby

In the washer extra rinse cycle some vinegar and laundry soap

White vinegar will get the smell out, better than anything else.

Please call the manufacturer of the carseat and ask them as many of the suggestions given here are bad and will void the warranty as well as the safety of your car seat.
Or join CarSeat Safety for advice.

Oxi clean powder purple lid

Vinegar and baking soda.

Put baking soda on car seat add Vinegar… let it bubble then wipe down & air dry

Ignore most of these suggestions. Read your car seat manual if you actually want a safe car seat. Improper washing can ruin the car seat.

You have to read the manual. Some have specific cleaning instructions and using certain kind of cleaners, bleach, sun, etc. because it can weaken the integrity of the seat.

Please join a car seat group, you can’t do most of what is suggested in the comments. Or read your manual & clean according to what it says, you can’t use vinegar, bleach, or any harsh chemicals on any part of a car seat.

Wash the liner with a detergent that has some kind of odor remover I usually mix my regular detergent with oxi clean that has odor eliminator… also depending on your washer settings i usually just add the extra rinse cycle but I also have a sanitize cycle but a normal wash with extra rinse should take it right out

Take it off the seat and run it through the wash with the same detergent you use for your baby clothes and spray some dawn dish spray on it before

Buy a good enzyme cleaner! Douse it and let it sit 24 hours before washing it.

Soak the fabric in laundry soap scent beads for a day then wash it with more soap. Use a pet urine remover on the plastic/straps(can buy it at any pet supply store) let it air dry then rinse it well with plain water. Febreeze has a pet oder spray that I love that you can spray the plastic if you want it to have a scent. I’ve been there done that with pets.

Call the manufacturer and ask them, they will tell you how to handle it.

You can get the dog an adaptil collar it helps with stress also there is the diffuser too.

I would get rid of the dog. He will take a pee on the baby next.

Post in Car Seats For Littles. Lots of experts in there that can advise you how to proceed. I know you cannot use any harsh chemicals.

You can’t do almost any of the thing people have said to do. Just wash it with laundry soap ONLY put it outside in the sun to try. If that doesn’t work go to the manufacturer website and order a new cover.

Buy a new one, more than likely it won’t come out!!! And ps please don’t get rid of you’re fur baby

Also… I don’t see the dog peeing in the seat as jealousy. He’s claiming his territory. Maybe give him a receiving blanket that the baby has used so he feels more attached to the baby and give tons of treats for good behavior around the baby. Even if it’s as simple as laying down next to you while you’re holding the baby.

Oxyclean. Lots of rinsing.

Soak in apple cider vinegar and wash in warm water

Best cleaning solution for urine I’ve found that works every time.
Dawn dish soap
Peroxide and water in a spray bottle. Spray it on scrub and rinse with water. If you can take the cover off I’d soak it in this to rid the smell so the dog doesn’t keep doing it. But it depends on the manufacturer manual like a lot have said. Check there first about what products to use and if you can remove the cover

Proud of these comments! How you clean your carseat is super important,

Stop putting human emotions on dogs. They are not capable of being mad or jealous. Chances are the babies diaper leaked and so it smell to the dog like pee so dog doing what comes natual pees where they smell pee to mark their pressence. Stop saying the dog will bite the baby, you don’t know this there wasn’t enough information about the dog to even come to that conclusion.

Absolutely you can pull the cover off and wash it but don’t put it in the dryer. There is a cleaner specifically for dog pee smells, it breaks down the enzymes in pet urine it’s called nature’s miracle you can get it at Walmart, feed stores, petsmart, ect…

Car seats have a fire retardant coating on them. Read your car seat manual on proper cleaning instructions. You could damage the seat and potentially put your child at risk of the seat not performing properly in an accident.

Use the lysol bacteria killer in the wash with a HEAVY duty detergent and lots of white vinegar. Then after rinse a few times and then wash normal in babys laundry detergent.

Believe it or not Ammonia and your regular detergent, you wont smell the ammonia at all and it will remove the oder

Always go by the manufacture of the car seat If you go by anything else it voids the warranty of your car seat and if Something Happens the manufacture is no longer responsible

1 part dawn dish soap, 1 part vinegar and some powdered soap. Scrub with brush till it becomes a mixture, wipe with warm clothe and let sit in the sun to dry spray with fabrezze

A lot of y’all need new seats if this is the ‘advice’ you’re giving. :woman_facepalming:t3:

Dawn with bakingbsoda and wash it on hot water.
Run twice.
For the plastic vinegar rinse well.
As for the dog, give her\him a blanket the baby slept with or a onsie. Ensure you spend a few minutes a day with your pet. Include her in baby time.
I don’t think it’s jealousy, per se but can lead to aggression. Nip it now.

Dont not use baking soda,or harsh cleaners on the carseat it will destroy ur seat ! Wash according to the manual

Do not take most of this advice, you can NOT use harsh chemicals on your seat, it will ruin it and make it unsafe in a accident! Find your manual or call the company for your specific car seat and they will tell you how to properly clean it or can help with a replacement. Soaking the straps is bad, washing the pad is bad if there’s foam, harsh chemicals break down the plastic and fabric making it faulty. Keep your baby safe, call the company who KNOWS your seat, and maybe put the seat up on a table or somewhere the dog can’t reach it next time

Urine off.
Great product.

Nature’s Miracle! It is an enzyme cleaner designed to get out animal urine! Sold at pet stores!

You should be able to remove the cushion part and throw in the washer. The plastic part can be washed by a hose or in the bath tub.

Take it apart throw the cloth in the washer machine
Use Clorox cleaner on the hard part then sit it out in the sun

I used vinegar for dog pee

There is a spray called My Pet Peed, check in to it. I keep my sisters dog sometimes and his urine is SOOOOOO strong, he peed on my couch and I followed the directions with it and the next day there was no smell or stain at all. I still scrubbed it after to be sure but it did what it was supposed to do and unless I said anything you’d never know he peed there even before i scrubbed . It worked amazingly.

Reading some of these are TERRIFYING! Read your manuals.

So many of y’all are putting your kids safety at risk.

Try white vinegar. That should do it.

my pet peed. literal magic

leave the dog at HOME, you are NOT really doing it a favor!!!

You can probably replace the cover. I’m not sure if anything that would actually take the smell and grossness out would be safe to use on a car seat

Take it apart and wash it and put it back together again. It’s a pain but I had to do it on a weekly basis since my child would puke once a week in her seat

Baking soda and lemon juice paste, scrub, let dry and brush or vacuum out good. Same thing happened when my granddaughter had her baby. She got rid of the dog because he just was not getting over it. He even purposely peed on my granddaughter’s mattress. She had two dogs when the baby was born. One was excited and one was not. We still have the one and he just loves the baby, well toddler now.

Take the cover off and wash it. I use to have to do that because my baby would have blow outs.

Menthol shaving cream

Take cover off and wash it. I have to lots because my daughter pukes daily

Different seats have different washing instructions. If not Done right or with certain products you can Ruin the seat all together.

First I would definitely read your manual. Take it apart and run it through the washer first. Make sure you do not get straps wet.

What car seat is it? Maybe some of us can help you figure out the proper way to clean it if we knew what seat it is

Wash according to the manual!

Get a new one or go on chew.com

Take the fabric off and wash it dump a can of coke in the washer with soap

Take it to a do it your self car wash and spray it down

Hot water and oxiclean or tide and then place on the wash again with gentle bay soap and use cold water double wash should take it right out

Ummm you don’t take off the covers of the car seat lol :joy: they should come off to be able to wash them…pet pee shouldn’t be any different than pee from a baby

Buy a new one. Oh and keep an eye on dog around baby

What brand is car seat? The manual should tell you how to clean them. DO NOT WASH IN WASHER OR PUT IN DRYER. Leave straps in sun to dry as the washer and dryer can break down the material that protects your child incase of accident

Please check the manual! Most seats you can only use warm water and a very mild soap. Not even vinegar is good for them

I don’t know about a car seat - but when we had a dog and it peed on the carpet, I wet the carpet down, sprinkled the area with baking soda - use a lot. Kind of rub it in (use paper towels or wear gloves, cover it with a towel and let it dry - then vacuum the baking soda. It worked on carpet - try it on the car seat.

My daughter threw up on her car seat a lot! So I took cushions off washed it and took lemons and squeezed it all over the plastic part. Rinsed it off with a hose in the backyard. Never had an issue with smell. Also for the cloth part I would make a paste out of baking soda only so backing soda and water make a paste. Put it on the spot where the poop or pee is and let it set over night. Wipe off with damp towel till all residue is gone. You can also vacuum it. Never had a smell ever come off of the car seat.

If it soaked into the foam, you’re screwed. Enzyme cleaner will help the fabric

100% recommend! My cat peed in my daughter’s car seat and eliminated the odor completely!

I ordered “My Pet Peed” from an ad on Facebook. It hasn’t arrived yet, but I contacted some of the people listed to ask their honest opinion. They every one had good things to say.

Go by the manual. Most things that will get the smell out won’t be safe to use so more than likely a toss. Try scent free detergent. No I I cleans and no sprayed as suggested :woman_facepalming:t2:

Nature’s Miracle. We use it on many things that can’t be washed with great success - even couches and mattresses. Just be careful how you apply and then remove it since it’s a carseat. But it will neutralize the urine.

I would be getting rid of the dog no ma’am

My kid got sick in the seat once and I took it out and blasted it at the car wash:rofl::woman_shrugging:t2: then sun dried.

Looked brand new! You could try that

Vinegar and baking soda. Takes all smells out

This right here works amazing and it’s not that expensive

vinegar & water mix together. It will kill the smell.

Enzyme cleaner but most aren’t safe for seats and straps. Likely a throw away. :frowning: keep carseat away from the pup and look into anxiety with your vet. Some pets have a hard time adjusting.

Bang its a purple bottle from the dollar tree… my puppy had an accident transporting her to her forever home in my back seat… bang purple bottle from dollar tree, dump entire bottle over the area and suck up with carpet cleaner or shop vac, do it twice …

If the urine got into the foam of the seat, you likely won’t be able to get the smell out.
