WATERRRRRRR she just begin to increase her water intake… GENTLEEEEEEE be gentle with her skin, don’t jump into harsh chemicals just yet, start with the basics and see Dove bar, wet the bar but not the face rub it in for about a min and let it sit while say she brushes her teeth, then a gentle facial brush, add dove to that, gently scrub face and MOISTURIZEEEEEEEE! EGYPTIAN MAGIC IS AMAZING!!! Also learned about spraying salt water on your face, read about it! Pretty interesting stuff! Chemicals are super harsh and sometimes the simpler the better
Help a mama out and respond anonymously on our forum. How to help a 10 year old that is getting acne?
I’d take her to see a dermatologist.
Same! My 10 year old is getting acne on her nose and forehead. Looking for good products as well.
Cetaphil for sensitive skin and Cerave soap bar is good too! My daughter and I both had acne until we tried these products
Rubbing alcohol is what I always used
Products really do further acne issues. A gentle cleanser and moisturizer is really all that’s needed. It’s more about the routine and habits than anything else. You can completely clear acne with only water fr! Cetaphil was recommended by derms but in prefer cerave personally. The moisturizing is what screwed my skin though! I used soap not knowing better. Never used lotion. My skin is ruined now🤧 My daughter is doing much better because I just make her rinsev her skin like numerous times a day.
That is a sign of puberty, if you have not talked about periods yet you need to do soon. Teach hey how yo wash her face first thing in the morning and before bed. Dairy and greasy foods can make it worse.
I have mine using baby wipes for now. It just helps keep her face clean.
Clean and clear face wash in the makeup section
I bought my son the make up remover wipes from Walmart. Very handy for a child that doesn’t want to take the effort to wash his face. And easy on the skin. Seems to do alot for my child.
Dove soap, white only, and water as hot as she can stand it, then rinse with cool water to close her pores.
I had acne early too and I used clean and clear and a good moisturizer.
The only thing that worked for my son was Proactive. Food can also cause pimples.
I got Rodan + Fields for my daughter. They have a skin care system for teens
I think that nutrition has a lot to do with it change her diet too and if over the counter doesn’t work either. Definitely consider dermatologists🙂
If all else fails, take her to the doctor & they can prescribe her something. I had to get a prescription when I was younger cause every face wash made my acne worse.
Ive always used 'PeptoBismo" for my acne it works great !
I have my son wash his face every day with warm water followed by Aveno fragrance free lotion.
Talk to her doctor or dermatologist
Cerave facewash I had adult acne and my face and neck is so much clearer since I start using it, also my 16 year olds sons skin has changed after using it, buy it in any chemist
Go see a paediatric dermatologist.
Plain sensitive skin soap and water. Remind her not to touch her face, wash her pillows and sheets every week. If not that doesn’t work then yes, see a dermatologist. I hope it gets better!
Gentle cleanser like cerave, The Ordinary Niacinimide ( helps sebum production) The Ordinary Hyloronic acid (for moisture) all can be purchased at Ulta and is fairly inexpensive. Change pillow cases 2 times a week and drink plenty of water. I had horrible acne as a teen and if I go a day without my skincare routine, I break out.
I definitely recommend watching YouTube videos about a good skin care routine and products!
Change her diet. Take out all greasy sugary food. Make sure she drinks lots of water. Don’t wash face in shower or bath.
Change pillow case daily, all the oil & stuff sits on your pillow case & you lay in it… keep her hair pulled back & tell her to not touch her face alot… the bacteria & dirt don’t help… wash her face a couple times a day… lots of water & healthy food…
A cleanser with salicylic acid and maybe an acne spot treatment. Please don’t tell her to wash her face with water as hot as she can stand as i have seen suggested
Does she wear a face mask ? Seems to be the places I’m getting mine too.
Bye bye blemish works well
Change her diet.
Wash with mild soap.
I put crest toothpaste on my kids that had pimples. It dries them up and clears them up
One thing that helped me was stridex pads. The red one… I had acne at 8… And it was “pizza face” status on my forehead. I feel for her.
If she’s wearing a mask, she could be allergic to it
Oatmeal and avocado mask
Have her use a wash cloth with witch Hazel to wash her face each night before bed. Wash her pillow cases daily so she has a clean one every night. Have her carry witch Hazel pads to wipe her face with when she sweats and let it air dry. A lot of people are getting acne in those areas also due to mask wearing for long periods of time.
I only use warm water and a wash cloth to clean my face.
Most soaps cause acne.
You can make a paste out of baking soap and water. Apply to pimples and leave on for 10 minutes. Then rinse off. This should help dry out the acne.
Only drink water, lots of veggies, clean pillow case daily and just have her wash her face after she wakes up and before she goes to bed with mild soap. I’ll add moisturizer (15+ spf) to avoid sunburns and wrinkles later on in life.
But like seriously just more water should help, it helps with everything lol.
Target carries Dr. Pimplepopper’s acne line! Get the salicylic acid spray and the pimple patches.
Differin! You can get it at most stores, it is in the acne section and is amazing!
Proactiv or the Clinique line. My girls have used both.
I shit you not, zote the laundry bar of soap helps with acne, my 12 year old just started it. I recently got this hack from a friend, and it friggen works, I have spent well over 200 on acne washes and meds for my son… Zote… cut it up in thick bars and have her wash her face with it twice a day, and change pillow cases every other day… complete 180
10 years old is pretty young…I would wait a bit and see how it goes.
This is what I use for myself and my 11 year old
I buy my daughter a cleanser for acne and then she sprays sea salt spray (homemade) on her face, I read it cleared up acne (think going to the beach and getting ocean water on your skin and it clears up your acne) it has helped but I think a lot of it is just hormonal and hard to get rid of for good
Cerave facial cleanser and moisturizer morning and night or you can use cetaphil that’s what my dermatologist told me when I was young
Cerave foaming face wash. My child has used this for a few months now and her skin is getting better
Cetaphil daily wash and moisturizer. I also use clean and clear day and night wash when I shower. I also use witch hazel at night for my pores. I think it’s going to be trial and error. It took me a couple years to get the right regimen.
Proactive. But here’s a lil TIP. get the BIG Proactiv Body Wash from Ulta. Or Sephora! You get like 10X the product for the SAME price. And it’s the same formula. Saves me hundreds of dollars a year.
Differin used to be Rx only, but us now sold over the counter. Cerave is another good brand.
Dermatologist recommend netrogena salicylic acid cleanser. (Yellow one) and a water based moisturizer.
Cerave foaming gel wash and the moisturiser is brill.

Dove white bar soap and water…. The more product you use the more the skin will get irritated and possibly break out more. Make sure masks and pillow cases are washed on the regular also.
My 11 year old son uses witch hazel with lemon pads (amazon). Washes with the asepxia deep cleansing acne soap (Walgreens or walmart) morning and night and he uses the cerave moisturizer. It has worked wonders for his tzone (only area he was getting them) it cleared them right up! Once he seen results he’s on top of keeping them cleared out, at first I had to stay on him about it. I use the same stuff for my adult breakouts and works like a charm. We tried other products for him with no results so so far this works for him and he also drinks a good amount of water every day. Good luck!
She should drink more water. Also look up a good diet skin routine for her skin type!
I’ve struggled with acne since having my first child and the ONLY thing that has helped me is using Dr Bronner’s organic pure castile wash, I use a little to wash my face with in the shower and it works wonders!! My face had so much acne it hurt and Dr Bronner’s cleared it up so fast. I’ve used different scents but the peppermint wash seems to help the most so far! Just make sure you only use a little bit of the soap and mix it well with water when washing.
10 is very young and a lot of products are not made for that age of skin, take her for a consult at a certified med spa or dermatologist…this is information you want from professionals, not FB
Whatever you end up getting, remember to have her moisturize after! When you strip away the natural oils and don’t moisturize, your body detects it as not having enough natural oil and will produce more! (Same goes for your hair to btw)
This can be something yall do together. Get some roses and boil them in water for an amazing facial toner without the harsh chemicals. Also let some dry and order dried gardenias as well. Put dried flowers in vitamin E or witch hazel and double boil until brewed. Amazing facial benefits for momma and baby. ((drain all when done and put into spray bottles roller bottles etc. Chamomile is a good one too as well as lavender))
Our pediatrician recommended Cetaphil products because they’re gentler than most others. If she wears glasses make sure to use alcohol to wipe the nose and ear areas to get rid of the bacteria and not touching the face, that was a huge issue with mine she didn’t even realize how much she touched her face.
Everybody has different skin needs- take her to the doctor or skin care pro and see what is suggested
pimples are clogged up pores due to high leakage of oil on skin. help her clean her skin more frequenttly and less oily
I just kept switching it up until I found what her skin liked. My daughter is 9 and has the same issue. I feel so bad. If she gets acne scars tho, I was told put raw honey on them.
My daughter is 10 also, she uses a clean and clear liquid with Cotton ball and it contains salacylic acid which treats acne. Aveeno has gentler foam cleansers also.
Oil-free acne wash… been using it since I was 15… 23 years now! Haven’t had any problems with acne since.
Take her to a dermatologist.
Also, for her part, wash your bed sheets and make sure she drinks lots of water. Clean up her diet too.
Cetaphil is amazing, I used to break out sooo back as a kid and a teen but I started using it per a recommendation at around 14 and I won’t use anything else! They even have cleansing wipes if you’d rather.
Prob just depends on her skin type. My 9.5 year old son gets pimples in his t zone. He uses stridex wipes when they pop up to dry them out and we use the overnight zit patches to draw the yuck out. I try to remind him to wash his face morning and night
Apple cider vinegar.
You can do one of 2 things… Wash face with lukewarm water, Pour small amount on rag and rinse off face. Or dab blotches on face directly and let sit overnight, rinse face off in morning.
Fyi: only do this at night, cuz it does kinda smell.
I’ve had my kids use the Eggsactly right face wash and moisturize after, and they’re all good. All naturally based and cruelty free
So it almost doesn’t matter what I used to wash my face, but I have been using Neutrogena benzoyl peroxide face cream after washing since I was a teenager and it helps a lot. But only use a thin layer because it could dry the skin out.
Like all skin care it’s really difficult to say what will work for your daughter, everyone’s skin is different & will react differently to certain formulas. You’ve gotten a lot of great suggestions on what to try. It may take some time to figure out what works best for her skin. I’d recommend using a product with benzoyl peroxide. Washing with a gentle cleanser, mild exfoliating, moisturizer & sunscreen.
I haven’t seen it recommended yet, but a few of “The Ordinary” products helped me when I was going through the worst breakouts of my life…
Here’s a really big tip that has helped since I was younger, tell her stop touching her face with her hands. Our hands are extremely dirty. I use the inside of the top of my shirts to rub or itch my face. A Dr once told me that and honestly it worked. I still do it.
Or just a light acne prone moisturizer from chemist or shops
Oxi pads are what my kids use. They work great for my daughter, my sons has gotten better
I sell Farmasi and my son(13)uses the tea tree line. Works great!! They also have a new acne line.
She is young the best you can do it try home remedies and encourage drinking lots of water and washing of the face using salty water I have seen it work
First find out what is causing the acne. Hormonal, diet, stress (kids can stress too) and then go from there with help from a dermatologist. U don’t wanna just start putting all kinds of things on her face, might make it worse if u don’t know the cause
I used Destin at night and by morning the pimples are usually dried up. Wash with dial first then lightly rub Destin cream on to the pimples. Yes I know Destin is diaper rash medicine but it has zinc oxide in it. The main ingredient in most pimple medicine but for a lot less.
Pro active! I tried everything when I was younger rx tanning birth control microdermabrasion nothing worked and I had horrible cystic acne. A friend gave me pro active and within like 2 weeks my skin looked amazing! And it’s stayed that way for years. I still get breakouts monthly but that’s normal and it’s nothing like what it was
My 12 year old son is going through this. I have a 16 year old daughter that had great results from proactive. They have a teen line so I use for him as well.
Spotless by rodan & fields worked wonders for my daughter.
Check her zinc intake. Zinc is the mineral that helps with skin. I used to use Zinerit, which is a prescribed zinc liquid that you coat your face with before bed, and then wash off in the morning. Won’t get rid of all of them, but helps them to not be so many and sore.
Witch hazel and tea tree helped me Ive had pimples and acne since I was 9 as well I’m 24 now and aloe is great as a light moisturizer creams that are too oily or creamy can make acne worse
Maybe see a dermatologist… reading through comments & also thinking of all the things ive tried since i was younger, its obvious everyone’s skin & acne are different so everyone has a different answer… there may be great products that work for some that might not work for others. It may be a skin issue or even possibly hormonal so i think the best answer is to see a dermatologist💛
Hear me out. Find an oil cleanser. One that can take off makeup. Korean face care is amazing.
The md gave me tetracycline and I was acne free. Also apricot scrub.
Honey ! Google it and milk on a makeup remover pad, my skin used to play up using all the store brought stuff, absolutely no issues for months now
Could her wearing a mask have a part in this? Maybe do disposable masks or wash out her cloth ones every night.
10 seems a bit early to be getting acne but maybe I’m wrong, either way maybe getting her examined for PCOS might be a good idea
Wash face morning and night that is all x plenty of water too x
You don’t want to use too much on her skin xx
Cerave oil controlling cleanser 2x daily and a sensitive skin moisturizer TRUST me
Dermalogica clear start range is designed for pre teens and teens
Face mask is breaking out more young people, change mask frequently and try not to touch face a lot. Keep face cleaner than usual by patting the face not rubbing
Wash with a gentle facial cleanser, pat dry and apply witch hazel or facial toner after
Ivory soap. Dries out the acne within a week or two.
