How to help a 10 year old that is getting acne?

The product you need to remove from the face…masks!

Cetaphil cleanser is gentle on the skin my 11 year old son uses it be started with Noxzema wipes though but eventually they weren’t strong enough

Any OTC acne products. What’s important is that she washes regularly, exfoliates & uses sunscreen.

Neutrogena facial wash, but only the ones that are see through, that’s what the dermatologist told us.

The dermatologist recommended twice a day adalopene something like that

dhc cleansing oil and Tamanu oil for after cleansing

CeraVe SA wash
Peace out pimple patches
Paula’s Choice BHA Toner
Naturium Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream

No soap just warm water and a washcloth. Aveeno oatmeal lotion. Tap cornstarch on inflamed areas.

Honestly I couldn’t recommend ‘real u’ more.

I’ve got horrible acne and I swear by it.

Tea tree oil. Body Shop brand is the best.

Change pillowcase often

Mild soap and water works best rn…their skin isn’t sure whether it’s trying to be oily or dry…products guide the direction and worsen it

The Sugar Scrub Angel she ships. She has all natural scrubs, soaps, face wash, etc. her products are all I use on my face! :slightly_smiling_face:

I can’t get mine to wash a damn thing so i got them good old stridex pads haha

Lysine vitamins and black bar soap

Antibacterial Soap and water.

Noxzema does wonders for me!

Warm water to open the pores, peroxide, cold water to close the pores.

Remeber the soap youre using to push the dirt out of the pore is taking the place of the dirt.

But its internal as well. Less greasy foods.

What you eat especially at that age will make an appearance on her skin.

Greasy foods = greasy skin

Literally… Soap and water. Wash her face 2 or 3 times a day

Everyone’s face is different!!!

Try multiple options. As someone who suffers from cystic acne and hormonal acne I will say one product works better for my hormonal acne and another will work for my cystic acne

See if you can go to a dermatologist and get samples of what they suggest, but also try drug store brands!!

Also nothing scented!! No scented moisture or anything

Sounds hormonal. Diet changes would be the best answer

Witch Hazel , cheap and works

Norwex face cloth… just wash with water

Differin gel in the pharmacy aisle

Whatever you do don’t use proactive had a bad experience at that age with the product

Clean her face every day with alcohol or witch hazel couple times a day

That’s because her body is changing half way to a teenager? :woman_shrugging:I assume

It’s in the laundry isle i had acne till i was 22 and a customer at the place i was working at that time told me about this and it worked wonders you do have to moisture a lot. Once it cleared I switched to CeraVe since it does dry your face a lot.

My 12 and 14 yr olds use this and it has made a huge difference.

Wash her face with Head and Shoulders shampoo

Witch hazel is actually really bad for your skin-plz don’t use it

My son has been struggling with acne for a few years now and it was so bad he was starting to get scars. Our pediatrician finally started him on( Doxycycline
Common brands: Doxy-100, Monodox, Oracea
Antibiotics
It can treat and prevent infections. It can also treat rosacea and severe acne, and prevent malaria.) After trying literally every product on the market including home remedies.

Proactive works wonders

Witch hazel and Neutrogena

Honestly, regular ole antibacterial hand soap is the best thing. As a teen I used the $1 bottles I believe softsoap is the brand. The orange kind.

With my children we use the St Ives apricot scrub once a week and then a Biorè charcoal daily face wash. That seems to help out a lot. My oldest gets acne on other parts of his body and his Dr. Had to prescribe him an ointment.

Witch hazel is a natural astringent and has kept my skin clean and healthy for many years. It doesn’t burn either. Takes the redness out too.

My daughter is going to be 10 in January and has the same issue. I purchased the kit with foaming face wash, face wipes and deodorant on tbhkids.com. The foaming wash has done amazing for her. No harsh chemicals and gentle on her skin. I hope that helps!

I love Biore products. I use the rose quartz and charcoal one. It’s exfoliating but gentle.

Take her to the Dermatologist and address it.

I use a daily face wash (doesnt matter what brand) and then I use clean & clear face moisturizer with acne medication in it and then I use neutrogena on the spot for tough breakouts

my daughter had skin issues like this… its important to use witch hazel daily… but most importantly was her diet… I changed her diet tremendously… and her face cleared out in no time… I notice if she stresses alot… that’s when her face will start breaking out too… i get her to exercise, meditate… fill up her time with healthy activities… teach them to handle daily stress…

Eucerin, Cetaphil and tea tree oil. Stay away from fragrances!

Avon has some great products. Has a a clay mask that my family has personally uaed and it pulls all that

Doctor told our children to worship in barbazol shaving cream. It did help

Plain old white dove bar soap and sea breeze astringint been using it sincd i was a teenager.

A visit to a good dermatologist

This is what a dermatologist told me to use on my 12 yo. wash in the morning and night. we have seen a huge difference in her face

This has literally been the only thing that has worked for my son.

Try the “face & body cloth” from Norwex!
Super gentle, safe for all skin types & ages! Cleans without soaps or chemicals! www.ashleypardo.Norwex.biz

Sounds like mask rash. You might need to make sure they are wearing a clean mask more regularly. Tea-tree soap and spot treatment is the best thing. I’d be wary of putting salicylic acid on someone that young.

I wouldn’t recommend products for her face sometime these can actually make it worse. Make sure she’s drinking enough water , as soon as I started drinking around 8 bottles a water a day I never had spots ever x

Use dial soap until you go to a dermatologist

Cucumber and lemon water I use it all the time… after years of using different product it was better after one month of drinking cucumber and lemons I drink it once in the morning and in the evening for me it really helped.

Cerave range has been a god send for my 10 year old sons face, use it myself to it’s awesome

Reduce the intake of coke and sweets and drink a lot of water.

Dermatology nurse here :slightly_smiling_face:

5% benzoyl peroxide wash (has antibacterial properties) in the morning, followed by a gentle moisturizer (non scented, recommend CerAve moisturizer or laRoche Posay)
CerAve gentle cleanser at night and a
Otc adapolene (differin) 0.1% for spot treatment on a young gal.

Hormones are most likely the culprit for young gal her age and no oral hormonal medication is recommended yet, so topicals it is.

If you’re worried you can’t control it, see a dermatologist as they have MANY topicals that can be prescribed :slightly_smiling_face:

I used an acne treatment called Oxy 10 when I was younger (and even now sometimes in my mid 20s) and it worked really well.

Sounds like it’s from her wearing mask, make sure she is brushing her teeth good and changing her mask daily. I had to get on my teenager because he had the same.

Idk about products but when you cry if you rub your tears all over your face it helps with acne
Something in your tears I can’t remember fully what it is but it helps me a lot

Indian face masks are amazing, all organic,
The seaweed one is brilliant and helped me with scars

First of all the one thing you need to remember is acne is genetic. It’s not something you or her are doing wrong. If home remedies or store bought are not working take her to a dermatologist. The earlier the better.

Go to a dermatologist. Seriously. I suffered my entire childhood, and I desperately needed the knowledge of a dermatologist. Please chat with a professional :hugs:

I suffered acne for so long because of my pcos.
A lady in Walmart suggested using Aloe Vera bar soap (the original one) and within a few weeks we noticed a HUGE difference! I still use it to this day.

Get the CeraVe cleanser. It’s the only brand that hasn’t made me breakout worse. All the other store brand ones are too harsh for me. Once a day have her wash her face. :slightly_smiling_face:

I had really bad hormone acne after my last baby this stuff works amazing just make sure you get the blue bottle it’s cheap and works :raised_hands:t2: also you can get it anywhere just make sure she washes her face every night with it before bed or after a shower Amazon.com: Garnier Micellar Water For Waterproof Makeup, Hydrating Facial Cleanser & Makeup Remover, Suitable for Sensitive Skin, Vegan, Cruelty Free, 13.5 Fl Oz (400mL), 1 Count : Beauty & Personal Care

CerAve! My daughter who will be 13 in a few weeks uses the face wash and moisturizer. I dont think I’ve ever seen a break out on her face yet but she’s been washing her face since she was young. Also she never drinks soda and lemon water is her favorite.

Frozen cucumber slices and rub the face until they are thawed is a natural way to help reduce redness and swelling of acne.

Have her was her face in Johnson and Johnson baby wash. Cleans the pores without harsh chemicals this is from my dermatologist

Wicked Dope Soap has the best products! I use them myself, and my daughters do as well. My skin has never looked better.

From Dermatologist Clobetasol Propionate cream this cream is a miracle

Unless you see a professional, I suggest nothing. You don’t want to trial and error things that could make it worse. Also, sounds like early puberty. It’s probably just her body getting used to the extra hormones being produced.

My 13 year old started using the ordinary face care products at ulta. They are super affordable and have amazing reviews. All their products are under $10 each

Change her pillow case regularly.
Limit sugary and fatty foods.
Use aloevera as a face cleaner twice a week.
Drink water!!
These alone will help a lot!

I love the inkey list! I love their salicylic acid cleanser. It gets rid of my stubborn acne so quickly. And I use Curology which has helped my acne tremendously. But cerave is also great! And don’t over wash your face. Exfoliate a few times a week.

I swear by coconut oil for myself for pimples, although if the skin is oily you don’t want it to sit on the skin for too long

My 10 year old breaks out super bad especially right before her monthly, we use Cerave it’s been incredible for her!

I bought the equate facial cleanser and facial gel hydrator. Seems to work on her until her monthly comes.

The Ordinary, Good Molecules, Proactive (not the MLM one) all have cheap and effective products.

My dermatologist suggested a regimen of Cetaphil foaming oil removing wash followed by CeraVe moisturizer. Within a week we were cleared up.

Cleanse with Witch Hazel after washing her face. Make sure she gets all the soap off her skin as not properly rinsing can cause acne.

Curology! It has been a lifesaver for my daughter. It’s about $60 every two months, but sometimes we skip and it still lasts. You can get a trial size for $5. You’ll answer questions, send in pics and a dermatologist will assess her profile and fit the formal to her needs. And if needed, will adjust.

My daughter was 10 when hers started and it was severe. We went to a dermatologist, we spent hundreds of dollars on prescription creams, over the counter creams, proactive, medicines, home remedies…nothing helped. One day she went to the little clinic to be tested for strep because she wasn’t feeling well and the nurse practitioner pulled me aside and asked me about her acne. She told me about curology and we tried it out. Have been using it for a year and a half now and it’s worked wonders!! Definitely worth it! Note: skin does become more sensitive so she will need to wear a face sunscreen.

My doctor told me to use Differin! It used to be a prescription, but now it’s OTC.

At walmart they sell Stridex acne pads. I bought some for my 11 yrs old and they have helped so much. They are gentle and smell great. I think I paid around $3-4 for 90 acne pads.

Wash face in morning with Vitamin c face wash and only put face sunblock in the mornings. Every time she goes to the bathroom throughout the day, rinse face with water only. Wash face at night with Vitamin c face wash and put vitamin c face serum. No makeup. Been doing this and have zero acne scars or acne. She will get it regardless during puberty but it will go away. No make-up.

I’d say take her to a dermatologist, have them test her skin to see what works best. A lot of the ones you can get at Walmart are target have harmful effects to sensitive skin. Better to know before you put it on and it cause a worse breakout

Use cleanse and polish by liz earle in large boots stores also instant boost skin tonic. The best

I had the worst acne and using Cerave foaming cleanser has kept my skin so clear for over a couple years now. I had a tough time with coconut oil, but use it on everything else
