I am nervous about getting pregnant again so soon: Thoughts?

I’m 6.5 months postpartum with my first baby, and I just found out I’m pregnant again. I’m nervous about complications with the baby, delivery, and the pregnancy in general because I got pregnant again so quickly. I’m super excited but scared because I was told 18-24 months before getting pregnant again is recommended. Does anyone else have babies very close together and how did delivery go?

My doc told me they recommend 12 months between delivery and getting pregnant but there are plenty of women who do sooner. She just strongly asked that I wait a few periods.

I wish I could’ve had two back to back but every 18 months is what I did

It will be fine. My middles are just 13months apart

My first two were 10 months apart. Like my oldest was 10 months when I found out I was pregnant with number two. All’s well…now they r 16-&15…

I had mine 1 year and 6 days apart. My first labor was worse than my second because I was more physically prepared for what I would go through. Congratulations tho!!

Mine are exactly 12 months apart. My 2nd babe was 6days late. 9lbs 10oz of pure happiness. My back/hips were soar towards the end but other than that the pregnancy went great

My cousin had her 2 daughters 10 months apart. Delivery went great for her.
She had a consultation on her tubes getting tied & Dr office had to reschedule her appointment for 2 weeks away & that’s when she got pregnant.

I’m 57. Have two friends who are sisters 11 months apart. “ Irish Twins” they are called. One is my age. They are perfectly healthy. They are the eldest of 6…

Definitely recommended for many reasons but so so many have them and are fine so stay positive! My husband and his sister are 11 months apart

I have Irish twins they are 1yr and 2 days apart both are very happy and healthy babies enjoy ypur pregnancy CONGRATULATIONS

I’ve had 6 pregnancies back to back… I was pregnant 5 or 6 months PP. no complications, no problems. No worries! You will be just fine, I promise. Stay active, eat well. Take your prenatals. Congrats!

Doctors recommend 12 Months… it acually takes the body 2 years to fully recover from a pregnancy… You will be fine… I know lots of women who had babies back to back… some of there kids are the same age for 2 weeks or for a month.

My baby was born in June, and I’m due again in April. My Dr isn’t the least bit concerned, other than whether or not my sanity can handle it!

i have 6 kids pregnant with number 7 now
born in order 2001 2004 2005 ( csection) 2007 2008 2017 ( still born) 2020 all natural births but 1

My middle 2 are super close. They’re both healthy, my pregnancy was a little rough pain wise but we recently found out that I had some serious health issues blooming during that time so it might have been from that, 10 years down the road though so we’re not sure and have no way of knowing.

Delivery went fast & smoothly, think i was only about 3 months pp or so when i found i was expecting again with my daughter whom just turned a year on Oct 9th & my son just turned 2 Oct 27th… So yeah all went well with no complications

My daughters have so much fun playing & learning new things together since they’re so close in age!! Congratulations.:confetti_ball::tada:

I had my boys 11 months and 11 days apart. Got pregnant with my 2nd just 3 months pp. No major issues or complications. Everything with #2 went just as well as #1

I fell pregnant with my son at 8 months postpartum after c section. Have a healthy 2 year old son, no problems. Just had another c section from the thin lining. And now I’ve just given birth to my 3rd 2 years after my son and fine  scar is very thin but everything went well from c section.

Yes my boys were 15 months apart and they are greats mates never a dull day

I had 3 back to back. (3 in 3 years) first two are 15months apart, the 2nd and 3rd are 12 months apart. My youngest 2 were premature. But now are happy healthy kids.

Best friend found out she was pregnant at her 8 week check up…she did fine. I’ve had several friends that have them VERY close. Mine are over 5 years apart…my body had to heal from a bad pregnancy with my first. I had major complication to where i was told by 3 doctors to not have another kid bc it could kill me. Those doctors wouldn’t see me when I got pregnant with my now 2 year old but thankfully I found an amazing specialist and we are all healthy!

You wouldn’t have been able to get pregnant if your body wasn’t ready

My 2 are 13 months apart. Everything was normal.

My daughters are16 months apart. It was challenging but we are blessed

Got pregnant exactly 3 months after my second son. It’s not that big of deal. They say wait a while for you body to go back to normal but it’s ok if you end up pregnant. My second and third child are going to be exactly a year apart if I don’t have her early.

My third was 6 months old when I found out I was pregnant again, there were no issues with my pregnancy or delivery, she is a very normal moody 15 year old now :joy::joy::joy:

I ended up pregnant with my second when my first was only 3 months… second time was a lot easier and I didn’t get induced like w my first I went into labor .

My babies are 16 mo apart. Both c sections and both over 10 pounds. Its not bad🤷‍♀️

Listen my girl friend had 5 bbys in 5 years no problems

My babies will be 16 months apart once my son is born. This time around I find it harder on my body, extreme pelvic pain, but other than that so far so good. He’s not due until March so idk how the delivery will go

My baby is about to turn 1 in January (was due on February 3rd with her) and I am due February 6th with our second. Doc isn’t concerned about our situation, but with normal check ups she is keeping an eye on baby and me. As long as you are under the guidance of a doctor, I would try to stay calm.

This happened with my mom she had my sister and a couple months after she had her she got pregnant with my other sister amd she went into labor early there ok but I think the only reason that happened was cuz she wasnt supposed to have kids she wasnt strong enough when she had me but boom she has 5 kids lol hope it goes well

Yes my two girls are 13 1/2 months apart. I got pregnant with my youngest daughter when my oldest daughter was only 5 months old and they are both happy and healthy little girls. They are 6 & 5 years old now.

I have a ten months age Gap between my two eldest. Best thing that ever happened to me but hard work. Routine is vital xx

I got pregnant with kid three three months after kid two and six months after kid three i got pregnant with kid four. I was exhaust as their dad worked late nights and they were up early…

I got pregnant with my twin boys when my daughter was 4 weeks old. She is 9 1/2 months older than them. Everything was totally fine. Dont be scared, just go with it. Congrats to you!

I got Pregnant with my son when my daughter was 9 months. He was 8pds and 2oz. He was completely healthy.

My 2 are 15 months apart, pregnancy and labour both absolutely fine

I had my second child when my first was just a year and 4ish months and all was well. The same time period was recommended so I think it’s just protocol

I’ve met women who were pregnant again at their 6 week check up.

My older 2 kids are 15 months apart and I didn’t have issues. I found out I was pregnant with my older son when my daughter was 7 months.

I was told to wait 24 months but here I am 18 weeks pregnant with a 9 month old. So far pregnancy has been great and nothing to worry about. I wish you the best of luck!

My son was 6 mos when I got pregnant with my youngest. I had more complications, was sick all the time and was in so much pain with that pregnancy then with my first two. They say to wait to give your body time to heal. Everybody is different. All my pregnancies were high risk so that could be why it was so much harder on me but some women have no problems at all

My 1st 2 are exactly,15 months apart. It was great.

18-24 m… I wasn’t told anything by my dr years ago… what happens for the ppl that want their kids close in age. We have 3 in 3 yrs… so the girls are 20 m apart and the younger two are 14m apart… it’s crazy, busy and hectic but I like them close in age… 3 and done. Having them on the same schedule, wearing little baby in a sling and or having a double jogger was a game changer for me. Good luck

My first was 8 months old when we found out about baby number 2. They are 16 months apart and for me pregnancy and delivery went without any complications. I hope the same for you!

My daughter has children that are 364 days apart…everything was fine. Just take care of yourself and CONGRATULATIONS!

I have 4 kids total my last three babies are Irish triplets they were born July 2017 June 2018 May 2019 my doctor even told me it’s perfectly fine the only time it’s an issue is if they were c sections which were not

I got pregnant with my second daughter 2 months after having my first daughter. Lol. She was completely fine and the biggest.

My first child was 9 months old when i got pregnant agian she was also born preterm i ended up having lots of preterm labor issues but thankfully had her at 37 weeks

I have Irish twins, my son was born 2nd February 2016 and my daughter was born 31st December 2016 :blue_heart::purple_heart: I was pregnant at my 6 week check up after my son

I have a friend that is 22 weeks pregnant with her sixth child (no multiples) and her oldest is currently five. She’s had some minor complications with number four and five but other than that it was smooth sailing.

I was pregnant at 2months post partum! All was fine!

I got pregnant when my son was 8 weeks old. My kids were born exactly 11 months apart, 08/08/17 & 07/08/18.
It was painful because my body was still healing from having a 9lb baby and then getting pregnant again so soon, I was always exhausted and my body was sore. Other than that, I had no complications and my kids are perfectly healthy. Labor with my last child was a lot quicker also.

My first 2 are 14 months and my 2nd 2 are less then 12 months no complications other then sick of puking and being fat lol

I got pregnant within a month or two of having my first baby so u should be ok

I had my kids closer than that and both c section and it was okay.

I had my first 2 12 months and 3 days apart. Its doable and i liked their age gap best. They are now best friends and they are the same size so clothes shopping is wayyy easier.

My daughters are 11 months and 2 days apart…of course it’s tiring taking care of an infant and growing a fetus but labor was super easy with both my girls…they are truly best friends…they spent the night apart last night and you would swear it was days that they had seen each other…they are 2 and 3

I got pregnant with baby #2 when baby #1 was 3.5 months old. It was tough but ok… baby #2 came at 37 weeks perfectly healthy and a super fast labor (2 hours from the first contraction til birth).

I got pregnant with my second 9 months after my first. Zero complications and she was completely healthy. Then 4 months after my second, I got pregnant with twins. I carried them to 35 weeks and they were almost 7 pounds each and came home with me. When the twins were 11 months, I got pregnant again and just gave birth to her on Friday. She was born at 37 weeks and almost 9 pounds. Yeah, it’s hard on your body to have so many babies close together, but usually it isn’t a huge cause for concern and I love having my kids so close in age.

My two are 16 months apart.

My babies are 18 months apart, everything was normal. Don’t worry about it. Goodluck!

I got pregnant when my daughter was 6 1/2 months and I just had my son at 38 weeks 4 days. It was a little complicated but we all turned out fine :blue_heart:

I was pregnant again after 7 weeks postpartum. Your body will adapt if your mind doesn’t get too frazzled.

I do. I’ve been pregnant for the past 3 years lol my first two are 16 months apart and my 2nd and 3rd are 17 months apart. I’m currently pregnant with the 3rd. The first two deliveries were great and all 3 pregnancies are great so far. No super bad complications or anything

You should be fine just take your vitamins and eat a very nutritious diet to keep you both healthy and you feeling your best.

My 2 youngest are 11 months apart. I had no complications at all from having them so close together. I was worried about the same thing, but everything was just fine.

2 of my kids are 17 months apart, it wasn’t hard to adjust but my pregnancy was awful due to SPD which I seem to have a problem with in general. Labor and delivery was perfect, for awhile they were in the same size clothes and diapers so it was kind of nice I didn’t have to buy extra or different clothes. I had 2 boys in a row and added another boy in September this year. My oldest is a girl and she’s 8. A lot of people have ok pregnancies even being close together and some have complications, it depends on genetics and how baby lays etc. Really there’s no way of telling.

I was 5 months postpartum with out first when we found out I was pregnant again. At first we felt like you, super excited and nervous. My kids are barely 13 months apart. I have to say I thought the pregnancy and delivery was much easier. My body has just went through everything and it was ready. This time we waited the recommended time and this pregnancy (third pregnancy) has been so much hard for me. Times it hurts to move, I am always sore from sciatica pain and everything. However my two kids are so close always playing, running, being busy together it’s great. We truly love it. Good luck momma… meal prep and routines are your friend!

My daughter was 7 almost 8 months when I got pregnant with my son. My second pregnancy was raised then my first. My uncle and his wife have kids that are 8 months apart. She was told she could not have kids, not that she couldn’t but that if she did it most likely kill her because of health issues but she had both of them, only issue was the second was born a little early but he still came home 3 days later. She got pregnant the first week home with her first.

I got pregnant miscarried got pregnant a month had my daughter at 36 weeks and then was pregnant for the third time with my youngest when my daughter was 5 months old. My youngest was my hardest pregnancy I won’t lie. She about killed me literally. My body struggled but it all worked out. The pains were worse and preterm labor risks were high. She was induced at 38 weeks due to my blood pressure. Just be sure you don’t miss your appointments and do what the doctor says to a T and make sure you rest as much as you can and eat healthy. Your body is going to be going through a lot.

my kids are 1 year and 4 days apart. I had plenceta previa with my second pregnancy but no complications with it. Delivered baby at 37 weeks via c section due to the condition but all went well!

Was 10 weeks post birth and found out I was pregnant… but she was fine and I was fine… your good mama

I am currently pregnant with baby #4 and this is the third year in a row I’ve been pregnant. I’ve had no issues and all my babies are healthy. I didn’t want mine so close but the birth control I had after each child failed😅. But it’s okay our bodies can handle this it’s what we are meant for.

My girls are 14 months apart, so the older was only 5 months old when I got pregnant, no issues at all.

My last 2 babies are almost 8.5 months apart. My daughter was around 6 weeks when I found out I was pregnant again and then my son was born 3 months early. Now they are 17 months and 9 months.:sparkling_heart:

My cousins kids were 15 months apart…both by c section… beautiful kids…all good

I got pregnant when my middle daughter was only 4 months old, everything was fine

My 13 and 12 yr olds are almost exactly 13 months apart. Found out I was pregnant with my son when my daughter was only 3 months old. Everything went smoothly. I know everyone is different and every pregnancy is different so I wish you the best of luck! And congrats!

Not to alarm, but I found out 4 weeks out I was pregnant after my second. I had no idea what I was gonna do, their father (my xhusband) had been arrested for domestic battery right after we found out. I was under so much stress. A 4 week old with colic, working 60-70 hours a week and pregnant again. I lost the baby at 11w6d. I was so sad, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Happy pregnancy and wishing you a healthy baby

I have multiple aunts who had 5 kids in 5 years, back in the day when birth control wasn’t an option or they thought breastfeeding was a reliable source of birth control. The human body is remarkably resilient, you’ll be fine momma. Also, I go pregnant with my second when my first was 14-15 months old. Both my deliveries were c-section and I recovered quickly.

My mom has 7 kids, oldest was born in 1980 and youngest was born in 1988 and she never skipped a beat :rofl::rofl:

Ours are 12 months, 3 weeks apart in age. The longer length of time between pregnancies is for the mother’s health, to give her a chance to recover completely between each. The baby will take what it needs; you will be the one with depleted reserves

I found out I was pregnant 3 months after my daughter was born and the pregnancy was hell compared to my daughter but labor went a lot quicker. I had my son the day before his due date, I was supposed to be induced two days before that (Wednesday) but all the beds were full so they pushed me off until Monday but he decided he wasn’t waiting lol I had the epidural with my daughter and didn’t want one with my son and I went all natural and he is very healthy and I had no complications except his cord being loosely wrapped around his neck

My sister has two babies 9 months apart. They’re as close as anything, she literally fell pregnant a week after giving birth :joy::joy: she loves it though
