Honestly, I change my tampon every time I use the rest room. 
especially for #2, but if I know it’s gonna be a big piss, I just remove, per and insert a new one. I don’t owe THAT often… lol

Alot of you are extremely rude with your replies. Some woman/young ladies even though they’ve had children may have never used tampons in their life, this could all be a new experience for them. Choose your words more carefully.

I tuck the string in between my labia minora and labia majora and NEVER have this issue.

When I used tampons I would just hold ot to the side instead of letting it hang in the pee. Now I only use a menstrual cup. I love them. You should definitely try one. The also are better for thr planet, your vagina, and are cheaper in the long run.
Hold the string up or change it each time.
Just use a cup, problem solved. 
Good for the environment too. I love mine! Money well spent.

Lol nope. I don’t have periods anymore and when I did, I didn’t wear tampons but I changed my pad every time I went to the bathroom. I taught my daughters the same thing. My oldest took me too literal and would just randomly go to the bathroom to change her pad. I had to tell her it was only when you went to the bathroom or if you don’t go often enough, go to change it anyway, every few hours
