One time I was drunk with my girl and her friend, they look similar and I thought the one girl was my girl. I said I love you baby and kissed her. I think she secretly felt loved for a second and was not upset by the event. I still to this day am not sure why my brain confused the two but all was forgiven.

In this circumstance, with drink, this feels like a genuine mistaken identity. But it’s how you deal it from now on. If it has ruined your trust then you’ll never get that back, with her either. But if the bigger part of you/your gut feeling, is telling you it was a genuine mistake, then put it behind you.
