Get purple mouth wash at walmart mix with some water in spray bottle everyday spray hair before an after you comb though it!!! Bit you have to do everyone hair not just hers
I took my daughter who also has long very thick hair to a lice removal registered nurses facility in my area and they were able to get rid of the lice. It was a bit pricey but we’ll worth it.
Mineral oil and a shower cap overnight. Smothers them.
Hair dye. My sister had the same issue as a kid we dyed her hair never came back
The people I hired to come to the house used olive oil (soaked) overnight, and a nit comb
Hi There, This is a website you should check it out. Everything is organic and you can check her TikTok page.
THELICEANGEL
the website is
There is a spray to help with the furniture and bedding that cannot be placed in the washer. It’s super important and helped us beat it. Did you get the formula treatment for super lice? That’s what we had to buy and we eliminated the issue
Permethrin or Gamabenzene lotion is very effective. Have to apply overnight and wound a towel around the head. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth when rinsing off with shampoo. Take it from someone that had curly hair in school days, a perfect habitat for lice and had dermatisis due to the infestation.
Zapp comb! No medicine no over the counter nothing just straight electric currents to kill the suckers! Hope it helps
If she has stuffed animals that she sleeps with, either sanitize or throw them out…they can harbor the lice eggs and keep re-infecting her.
I got defogger bed bugs and lice from Lowe’s and set them offa direct in her room a long with hall way and bathroom banged all stuff animals and stuff dolls for two week. Cetaphil soap divided her down middle use a squeeze bottle go back an forth diangle lines from one side to the other blow dry complete wash comb out repeeat one week later if need
I remember this story from when I was a kid. My aunt was a teacher-this poor little girl kept getting lice and they couldn’t figure out why-they cleaned, went through her air, washed everything in the house, bagged up stuffed animals. The poor girl had it in her eyebrows.
They have Profesional shops that get them out have them do her while you go and get rid of all bedding and more and clean the house
Real mayonnaise thick on hair cover with swimmers cap
Luckily none of my kids have noy had any since 2015 but i will use the same thing i did then of they did get them I bought this spray called lice off and that worked so well
Load her head with Vaseline then put a shower cap over her head for 24 hours, then bomb each room with flea and bed bug bombs, obviously leave the home for 24 hours if possible, then after 24 hours. Use dawn dish soap to wash the Vaseline out, everything will be dead, then get the tea tree oil from the vitamin section at Walmart, 7 bucks with taxes, and put half a bottle in her shampoo, then wash her hair as usual in bath time, leave in for 5 minutes with conditioner
When my daughter had it when she was younger (she had it twice) this is what worked for us
Take 2 small shot glasses or small cups add shampoo to one and conditioner to the other and add a few drops of tea tree and peppermint oil to use one. Wash her hair with that and then comb through small sections at a time. When you come across a nit use tweezers and take the whole strand of hair out (I had a big ziploc bag I was putting those strands into) the first night I smothered her hair in oil, tea tree oil and peppermint oil and wrapped it. Repeated the washing step in the morning and combing through again.
Vacuum around her bed and wash her bedding
It’s very time consuming. If you miss one nit the whole cycle starts again.
Add tea tree oil to a spray bottle with water and spray her hair every day with it or add to shampoo!
You can mask it in several different things, but unfortunately if you don’t pull every egg out by hand, it’s gonna be really tough to get rid of them
Once u get it under control only wash her hair when really needed. Lice love clean hair. I also put a serum on my hair everyday. R u cleaning the car too, furniture, Backpacks etc
This stuff is at Walmart and I swear by it.
Make sure you’re treating EVERYTHING! Including the vehicles, bedding, carpets, toys, etc. Not just vacuuming but treating with the spray as well everyday until it’s gone. Also try to find out where it’s coming from. If she keeps going where she’s catching it, it will never stop. Good luck, lice is very difficult to manage sometimes
Go to a lice clinic. Everyone says it’s the best investment!
Lather her head in Vaseline they will smother under it. Leave on over night with cap or bag!
Youre not gonna like it you gotta grease her hair. Summers the best time to get rid of them. Coconut oil thick on the head and shower cap it. LEAVE IT. Like as long as you can. I did 48 hours. Wash in dawn dish soap, rinse with vinegar and get alllll those nits. Blow dry and flat iron daily the heat kills em. Do this greasing at least once a week and keep the scalp kinda greasy if possible… Get tea tree oil. Put about a quarter of the small bottle in her shampoo and a quarter in her conditioner. That will keep them off of her. For the house make sure you use super high heat and dry the crap out of the bed linens. Vacuum daily. Take the rest of the tea tree and put in spray bottle with a half cup alcohol and the rest water. Spray the mattress the couches baseboards etc. Take away all stuffed animals for at least 2 weeks. This process was the ONLY thing that worked and i tried every damned gadget gizmo and pesticide.
Put all the stuffed animals in trash bags. Wash the bedding and then tie it in trash bags. Get new sheets and pillow cases. Any throw pillows or anything they can live i -trash bags. I believe it’s 72 hours?
Do not rely on the comb. Pick through every single strand of hair. You miss one egg and the problem in back again. No friends in the house. There could be another kid who keeps bringing it back to you. All the clothes have to be washed.
If her hair is already colored, color it again. But please remember that hair dye on lice is like Easter- you’re just dying the eggs. You still have to get them out.
Trim her hair a little bit. And pray.
I had thick hair as a teenager and we did this every time one of my friends gave me lice. Also let her know the importance of big sharing hair types, brushes, and clothes.
This might seem over the top but it works.
Dorothy Zimmer Prince did I miss anything?
Order something called hexol…i swear it works…my mom always used it when we were kids
Green tree oil put about 6 drops in all your hair products. Shampoo, conditioner , detangler, leave in conditioner. Not only will it get rid of it . It will protect you from ever catching it again . They sale it at Walmart’s like 2 dollars a bottle.
For us coconut oil worked the best. I’d soak my daughter’s hair in it and then cover with a hair cap or plastic wrap and send her to bed. She would shower in the morning and then we’d comb through her hair. After a couple nights of this it was only eggs left to get out. I also purchased a shampoo and conditioner with tea tree oil in it for her to use. But we did it every night for about a week to just make sure everything was gone.
When my daughter got it from school we tried EVERYTHING!!! Someone recommended olive oil. We warmed it the the microwave, added it to her hair and tied a plastic bag around her hair for about 15-20 minutes. That was the only thing that worked for us after 2 weeks of trying different methods.
Here in Ohio we have a lice salon
You need to treat everything in your house. Wash all cloth including curtains and bedding, spray furniture with lice spray, and bag all pillows and stuffed animals for 2 weeks. Put mayo in the hair after treatment because it will be to slippery to reattach. You also need to treat everyone’s head in the house even if they arent itching
After I treated my kiddo for headlice I retreat after a week or two depending. If you miss one egg, it starts over again. I also thoroughly go through the hair little by little to manually pick out what the comb doesn’t. I have found the most success in manually picking.
Lice clinic! Google if one is in your area. They can be pricey but well worth it and rid the problem. Had to go twice and it’s painless and after trying everything possible it’s worth the money up front
I had 6 kids. 5 girls so when one got it they all did and they had long hair. It lasted about 4 months off and on. I used everything - tossed everything etc and my husband shaved one of my kids hair off ! ( At my own mother’s directive) that worked but NOT the right move. What stunts the bugs is oil. Like hair oils over the counter - blue magic, African pride, etc anywhere from 2 to 10 bucks. Slap on a thick layer of oil .saturate hair and comb thru with reg comb then fine lice tooth comb. Bout an hour for longer hair but worth it. Make the time. Do this for 3 days. The bugs can’t move or breathe in oil so they come out easier in comb and discard safely - plus the oil is good for the hair after all the bug shampoos. Then a final wash with Nix. Do this treatment every weekend and find the source to prevent re infestation.
Both of my girls had it…they had it so bad…I had it…my husband had it. It was a mess. What worked for us was just doing it all by hand. I would put olive oil on their hair…unfortunately I was lead to believe that it would suffocate and kill them…it does not. Nothing does. They can hold their breath for 24 hours…I found that while researching. So really they go into like a hibernation state for 25 hours if in water or other oils. I only used the oil to help comb through their hair to get the nits…the oil made it easier to do that. Plus any bug hibernating or still alive. Then washed their hair…then would go through it by hand for two days then do it all over again. Plus loce bed spray on all bedding and furniture. I also put all of their stuffed animals in tight tied trash bags for 2 weeks. That will suffocate them.
Good luck…it socks. We battled it for almost 4 months, between two households as one of our children lives mainly with her mom.
Is she a red head? Some reasons lice love red hair. I had the same exact issue growing up. Tried absolutely everything. Over the counter, mayonnaise, vacuuming ect. Eventually I had a dr prescribe me meds that went into my blood and killed them. Get a new bed. Throw the old one out. Put a plastic cover over it. Same goes to pillows. Throw out her hair brushes and just use combs. You may have to cut her hair shorter and get layers to thin it out for the time being. Stuffed animals bagged up and put in an attic, shed. Or basement.
My parents dyed my hair when I got it as a kid and when I caught it from a relative a few years back I dyed my hair then too. It worked every time
Treat and then retreat in 10-14 days. Don’t forget to treat your car!! Your child rests her head on the seat and can be getting them again. Bag up or throw away any bows, brushes, hair ties, everything. Wash bedding. Bag up stuffed toys or wash them. Bag up hats. Spray couches and furniture
My mom would give us a bath and put conditioner in our hair and comb through our hair in the tub until she found nothing then take us out of the tub go through our hair again and then put this in our hair and leave it in! This is the only thing that got rid of them and we had 4 girls and my mom and we had head lice for 16 years!!! I still use this in my hair!
In NY and NJ there are lice salons that guarantee removal. Totally worth the money. Went to them once and it was resolved. Look into it in your area. We followed up with combing Pantene conditioner through the hair and wiping on a paper towel then in bowl of hot water. The service is around $300 in NJ. Maybe time to cut her hair shorter to make it more manageable.
Lice free spray from Walmart did the trick for us along with bagging up toys, washing bedding in hot water two to three times a week and bombing the house. But if you tried all that try a lice clinic
Colour her hair ! Or shave it.
Empty your vacuum and spray your car and mattresses.
I’d cut her hair short ! It will grow back and you gotta comb and pick the nits out with your fingers … combing doesn’t always get the eggs , boil water soak all hair brushes , spray your car , anything you can think off …keep stuffed animals tied in a trash bag … also treat everyone’s hair in the house
Did you try coating her hair in baby oil and wrapping it up tight in cling film my daughter had long thick curly hair as a child and we struggled to but this method worked for us
It messy and takes time but works.
So you coat the hair in baby oil really make sure it’s coated then wrap it up tight with the cling film for an hour thenwash out with shampoo it will take several shampoos to get the oil out then wet comb
Any live lice will have suffocated and won’t be able to stick to the hair strands
Every 2 days shampoo and wet comb to get any eggs that will have hatched for a week or two
Like I say it worked for us
Good luck my lovey xx
When you vacuum take it outside and empty immediately, got to get every loose hair, turn mattress over and vacuum and spray, inside of car also, those things are a real bitch to get rid of. My daughter also had hair past her butt, no matter what I did didnt seem to work, until I found the real culprit, neighbor girl, I brought her in and did her head, told her mother clean your house I’ll keep her here until you’re done, but I’ve had enough. Problem was gone. Goodluck now these little bas**rds are a super strain, what works for some dont work for others
Sounds weird but my hair pass my butt my daughter when she was lil pass her butt i ask her dr her dr said this buy mayo real mayo put mayo en her hair alot of it drench in mayo before she goes to sleep then put her head in a plastic bag her hair not head lol make sure her hair is completly cover n mayo n make sure all her hair in the plastic bag tie the bag on top of that wrap her hair in a towell she go to sleep wake up take bag n all off her hair wash it start to comb thru it the mayo and bag will suffocate the lice your will see it start to fall out hair will be greasy wash her hair with dawn dish soap this should do the job do this wkly its also healthy for her hair also
Oil works best it sufficates the lice they cannot breath in oil. Like oil sheen, olive oil, etc.
Olive oil on the hair. Then show cap. Leave for at least 8 hours. Then comb through. Wash hair with dawn after you are done. It was the only thing that worked for my kids.
Cover her hair in mayonnaise and wrap it in Saran Wrap and let it sit for several hours. Rinse it in coke then wash and condition it really good. You’ll have to comb through it again but it should kill all the lice.
after you treated and fine combed it out i literally sat for days and picked out by hand. I also suggest a dandruff shampoo and start showers. Always lather and bubble up a lot and the standing in the shower helps a lot
Baby oil on scalp and hair will suffocate lice.
Put a good amount of olive oil in her hair and put a plastic bag over her hair and let it soak . . . Than lay her on the floor and use a metal comb and go section by section to comb through it . . . And follow the other advice by washing everything in hot water and vacuuming
This is what I used when my children had lice and we got rid of them within a week. And just remember repeat in 1 week! Because that’s the head lices cycle!
Olive oil castor oil wrap in plastic get a bonnet dryer if you can find a cheap one
Tea tree oil in shampoo
Olive oil first. Put a cap on, that suffocates the live bugs. Wash with just shampoo. After that use vinegar, that detaches the eggs from the hair and comb through really good. My daughter has thick curly hair she had head lice once and that’s what I did and it worked the first time.
Coconut oil !
All day, rinse out at night apply again over night comb it through ther hair . It suffocates them.
When using a lice comb it makes it easier for them to comb out as well.
Your best solution is going to be to cut her hair shorter. I remember growing up my sister and I got it and my mom just could not get them off she decided to cut my hair and even though we cried and didn’t want to the end result was worth it.
I used lavender baby oil combed out what I could, let oil sit in hair for about an hour then combed out again and shower for some kiddos I babysat way back when. I’ve never experienced it with my kids, but we rotate tea tree and rosemary shampoos, luckily its kept us safe.
Tea tree works.
I had to color my daughters hair cause she had them so bad.
Wash her hair to remove big ones… then Flat iron her hair for 5 days… straight to kill eggs
A girl I went to school with her mom died her hair to kill them
Take her to a Lice Treatment Center! It’s the only thing that helped my daughter. It’s not cheap, but it WORKS!
Don’t forget to treat your vehicle, any stuffed animals, all clothes ( if she’s ever warn something and hung it back up ) ANYTHING that her head has touched. Couch, ponytail holders , etc. yes, it’s a nightmare!
Grind margosa leaves and apply. Leave for about 20 minutes and wash it off. You can also grind fenugreek and apply and wash it off after about 20 minutes. Also, there may be mild shampoos for lice. Use the nit comb and crush the eggs. Do it on a daily basis. It should clear off within a week or two.
Cover head with apple
Cider vinegar and wrap in plastic. After the wash you’re going to have to painfully comb through and ensure you got every little bit. Bag up stuffed animals etc. and let them sit for a week. Then wash in hot water. That’s what I had to do when my kids were little. Worked every time… unintended consequence is they all hate the smell of vinegar though!
Are you also spraying the beds and carpets with the killing solution? All my kids and myself got it 2 months ago, but thankfully I have all boys and just shaved their heads and cut my hair short to manage it. For myself I use the RID X products and then keep the lice comb in the shower and every shower comb through it all with conditioner in. Id check their head everyday for any new eggs and comb them out until I stopped seeing them. But make sure you use the spray because they’ll live on/in the mattresses too.
Tea tree oil covered with a head shower cap for hours like a whole day, call exterminator and replace bedding throw pillows and everything in trash or put in trash bags and leave sit in the sun for 48 hours
It’s gonna need cut
Get some tea tree oil and put it in her shampoo and just use our forever they don’t like the smell of it or anything like that and you have to treat the whole house like everything all her stuffed animals need to be bagged up and for a couple of months her bedding your bedding the furniture car see your car everything it might be just easier to burn the house and start over
Coconut oil then tie it up in a plastic bag and leave it in for about 4 hours and then wash it out. Make sure you run a lice comb through it as well. This has always worked for a sister of mine. When she was in school she would get lice all the time and this has always been the best remedy for her. Good luck and I hope you get it taken care of. My daughter starts kindergarten this year and that’s one of my biggest fears!!
Have you treated your car. You could be re- infecting .
I heard coconut shampoo works
You could try lice squad. They will get rid of them for you!
Food grade diatomaceous earth sprinkled in carpets, couches etc. Bag ALL her stuffed animals and leave in bags for up to two weeks or more if she can do without. Coconut oil in a shower cap for her to sleep in overnight.
You’ll need a couple bottles. Also tea tree oil in the hair daily
I know others have used tea tree oil. Leave it on overnight with a shower cap. Then rinse in the morning and comb through. It kills the eggs and bugs. Also, long hair, you may have to cut it shorter. Long hair is harder to treat it and most have ended up cutting their hair. Also, when washing bedding, or any type of items with water to clean, the water temp has to be at least 130° farenheit to actually kill the bugs and any eggs.
I’m not sure how old she is, but you could try dying her hair… The chemicals in the dye will kill them immediately.
Rapunzel lice products. Rapunzel also has places you can take your kids into and they will get rid of it for you. The only thing and place found that works
This is going to sound disgusting, but my sister got lice multiple times when she was in elementary school and NOTHING worked. But my grandmother put Mayo all over her head, wrapped it in cling wrap and then combed it through with the lice comb an hour later. It’s been over 15 years since then and my family swears by it for lice. Also make sure you treat everything!!
Cover her hair in Heilmans mayonnaise put a cap on leave it over night then wash it out, use vinegar in her hair then pick out every single nit you will have to do that for days all stuffed animals bag for 21 days if you have carpets shampoo them wash all bedding hit hit dry spray down mattresses couches all rooms of house and the car and car seats
And flat iron hair and blow dry they hate heat
My daughter got lice 3 times in 2 years. It was so bad!! I finally contacted Lice Centers of America and they do a treatment on every one in the house. Its the only way to get rid of them. I was unsuccessful in getting rid of them on my own.
I had long hair as a child and my mom would have to put my hair in a ponytail and cut the ponytail off and then treat and comb. Also……if you have a hair straightener, run that through her hair because it will burn any lice or nits. As for her scalp, try coconut oil, butter slathered in her hair and leave it in her hair covered by a shower cap or plastic wrap or tie a plastic shopping bag around the top of her head, just keep a close eye on her with that one so it doesn’t slip over her face. Also dying the hair can kill the lice as well.
Hey you need to find out where she has been the last couple of days weeks because if she keeps on going to wherever that has it you’re going to keep on getting it back
Mayonnaise. Leave in over night w plastic wrap around head. Comb threw then after picking threw it rinse w vinegar. Lice has become immune to cover counter stuff. Only way I got rid of my very very VERY thick hair on my oldest daughter
Cut her hair it will grow back
Tea tree oil and coconut oil mix together let it sit in her hair for as long as you can stand it and rinse it comb through wash and condition her hair then you’ll have to go through and hand pick the eggs out… the comb gets some of the eggs but not all of them… I absolutely hate lice and make sure you bag anything that’s a stuffed animal or has hair on it bag it… wash bedding in the hottest setting you have on you washer and the highest setting you have on your dryer… throw away the pillow and buy her some new ones!!!
I used to deal with lice growing up and my daughter had lice a few times…. and maybe think about cutting her hair until you get rid of the lice and then let it grow back out!!
Lice can only live a day or 2 off of the host. So clean everything thoroughly and don’t let your daughter back into her room or the car for at least 24 hrs. I had my daughter sleep on an air mattress for a few days. You might also have to cut her hair. If it’s super long and thick, it will be super difficult to get rid of everything. Dying her hair will kill off everything. But, you will need several bottles of hair dye. Every single bit of her hair will need to be saturated.
Blue listerene pour all over her head and put a plastic cap on for 20 mins. It will kill the lice and color the eggs blue so you can see them.
Time to get a haircut
Ask your Dr to call in a script of Natroba for each kid in the house. After treatment divide hair in to 1" sections with hair ties. Under a bright light (sunlight is best) pick through each section and remove eggs and any surviving bugs. Wash hairbrushes in the Natroba, leave on 10 minutes, then rinse under hot water. Spray all furniture and vehicle seats with lice spray. All stuffed animals/cloth toys get bagged up for 1 month except the special one or 2; they go in the wash and through the dryer with all bedding. Lice spray all beds then vacuum them. Pillows go in dryer for 1 hour. When you are done vacuuming empty canister outside of house and put it in the warmest part of your house for a few days. Blow dry and use a straightener on anyone in the house that will let you for a week or so.
Basically anything that can be put in the dryer including stuffed animals, clothing, bedding, couch cushion covers, throw blankets, throw rugs, etc…run threw dryer on high heat for an entire cycle. Bag them, tie them up tightly and put in garage or basement, treat everyone’s hair (lice or not!) Vacuum mattresses, move all furniture and vacuum very very good (be sure to remove bag or empty canister outside), take Vacuum outdoors to empty and clean entire vacuum, ive used raid bombs after thoroughly cleaning the entire house as well…your vehicle will need thoroughly vacuumed as well. It is a nightmare!!!
Repeat every few days on cleaning and treating…its exhausting!!!
Once all signs of lice are gone for a solid 2 weeks, you can breathe relief and stay putting your house back together.
Cutting hair short may end up being needed
I got rid of someone’s child lice she had for months. Daily combing thru from root. Then use tea tree oil on hair daily, wash hair with lice shampoo, comb out white eggs as often as you can, even multiple times a day until you don’t see anymore. The bugs don’t like tree tea oil. I had it gone in a week, I didn’t live in the house. I went over everyday till it was gone
I’m a retired hairdresser. Go buy cholesterol treatment ,apply it like you would color. from root to ends, put a plastic cap on you can use saran wrap if you dont have a cap. Put her under a dryer like in the salons, you can use a regular hair dryer but thats time consuming. Let the cholesterol get nice and warm. Leave in hair overnight. Wash thoroughly. Repeat if needed. The lice will die in the cholesterol and the heat will kill the nits. I did it to my daughter many years ago. It worked and i didnt expose her to the chemicals in the shampoo for lice. Best of luck
Vaseline oil her hair along with tea tree oil then comb through it
Even use mayonnaise in her hair.
Iv always done mayo let soak rince with vinager treated it worh lice shampoo then they have this spray you buy at Walmart i put in and put a shower cap in an leave on over nit always seemed to work then fo threw hair and pick out nits
Cut the hair and treat her head out all the clothes bedding toys in trash bags seal them up and then bomb ur house with lice killer the bags will suffocate all the bugs the bomb will kill any left around the house and her hair will be shorter and treated making it harder to get it
Grease it ( coconut or similar) put a shower cap on her so clothes and stuff won’t get stains. For about 2 and a half weeks you will not have any eggs able to hatch. Seriously 25 years ago I couldn’t get rid of it because he kept in contact with someone-who must not realized that their kid had it but I was so over a crying son getting treated with chemicals and his head picked at for hours and it was getting just down right expensive.
Have to treat the whole family. If she has it everyone can get them. Then you spread back and forth.
