I have always heard two that they love clean hair,From the time my kids were little in school I always had some type of product in their hair they never ever got head lice ! So after your fiasco is over just put some type of product in her hair because I’ve heard they can’t breath
Try dyeing her hair.
Straighten her hair after treatment it pops/unglues all the eggs do this every day until gone. Only way I was ever able to get rid of mine as a kid and never had them again. Make sure to use a towel underneath tho as all the eggs fall out. I had curly thick ringlets hair as a kid so I know the pain
Go to the doctor the stuff they give u is wonderful one time wash and gone
Any stuffed animals bedding and everything with fabric needs to be washed or treated carpets to as far as hair goes I suggest maybe cutting a little shorter then treating since it’s so long and then let it grow out again but put hair spam ray in her hair everyday lice don’t like it I do it with my daughter and her hair used to be really long to and she got lice 1 time I washed everything and sprayed what I could with a bleach mix mattresses carpets (I had light color carpets) and got rid of them since then she washed hair daily bc she has greasy hair but I put hair spray in it every morning specially when she’s I. School right now she’s out for summer and also put tea tree oil in her shampoo and she’s never had them since I even spray a bit of hair spray in my boys hair to
My girls had it acouple yrs ago and I couldn’t get rid of it,I used every home remedy and the stuff from the doctor. I finally found a place called the lice fairy and took them there. It was $160 a head but she used something organic that her company made themselves and we left with everything out and it never came back. Maybe look in your area and see if there’s somebody like that around you.
Cut her hair, it will grow back.
There is a vosene shampoo for kids with a lice killer in it. I use it on my son all the time and so far so good
Get a small travel bottle for conditioner. Add tea tree oil and shake well! Add conditioner to her damp hair and cover head with shower cap/bag. Let that sit over night and then wet hair again and comb through. My daughter got lice from school and I did this to her hair and combed through it in small sections since her hair was so long AND super thick. You can also use this to treat her hair (will add picture). You need to vacuum any carpets (including your car and seats if not leather) get all stuffed animals/pillows that can’t be washed and put in a bag and sealed tight! Wash everything on hot. Its a pain in the ass but I has to treat all 3 kids, my husband and myself. This was the only thing that would work on her plus the tea tree oil but you have to be careful using tea tree oil in boys (please research this).
Gold listerine mouthwash. I have 4 girls, I swear by this. I put in a spray bottle and spray there till it’s soaked with it. Cover with a bag leave on for at least 2 hours. Then go through in real small sections. Of course wash all bedding. Even bag bedding for 2 days if your able to. By the lice spray and thoroughly spray all cloth furniture and mattresses.
Flea and tick dog shampoo
Tea tree oil in the shampoo and conditioner, we also.used leave in conditioner spray
You’ll have to wash all bedding an fabric in the house… like curtains an pillows. Also car seats. Also bag up all stuffed animals an any toys that might hold the eggs an set aside until you can get her hair clear. My last opinion would be cutting her hair. Once everything is clean spray couches an fabrics with tea tree oil an water also add some to the shampoos. Always keep her hair up in a bun until you get everything under control.
91 percent rubbing alcohol. It works like a charm
My daughter has thick long hair it sounds weird but I’ve used pam spray before and a coconut oil tea tree oil mix left in all night washed the next morning the oil smothers them
If she has stuffed animals get rid of them. They can hide there.
Lice treatment for the superbugs, blow dry hair after then use straightener. Wash everything in hot water or put in dryer on high heat. Get the lice bedbug spray. Repeat in 10-14 days.
A few drops of tea tree oil in shampoo and conditioner ever since we started doing that we don’t have the problem anymore and do it all the time and it prevents them as well
Order an electric headlice comb off of Amazon it works great
Do a treatment on her hair , comb through her hair morning and night . Straiten her hair everyday after you blow dry it. Apply a generous amount of tree tea oil morning and night. Wash her bedding every day with stuff animals .
Vaseline suffocated them. But to be honest my sister as kid had them and her hair was that log. It had to be cut
Unfortunately you gotta cut the hair! Tea tree oil or and infused shampoo and conditioner should kept keep them away after doing the treatment too
The times my kids got it, I got rid of it right away. The head spray from the drug store works and kills the eggs too. Then make them sleep with mayo on their head to create a barrier for any lice that were missed in cleaning. Hot water in the washing machine, and everything else in garbage bags for two weeks. After that put peppermint or lavender oil behind their ears and nape before school everyday. You shouldn’t have to repeat those steps more than once. Fleas on dog on the other hand
Prescription from her doctor for sclice!! Best stuff ever!
First, cut her hai to at least shoulder length. Then Pick, pick, and pick every single day for 2 weeks. You need to get EVERY SINGLE egg. Wash everything, vacuum, new pillows, vacuum and spray the car, baseball hats, hairties, towels used on hair washed everytime you use it, teddy bears either washed in the hottest water or garbage bag for at LEAST 2 weeks. It takes 2 weeks for an egg to become an adult. Spray or steam clean mattresses and couches and carpets. But the best thing is to pick pick pick.
Try using shampoo with tar in it daily.
Blow dry her hair as hot as you can get and close to the scalp for as long as she’ll let you also. The hot kills them.
You can also use Dawn dish soap. The plain original blue one and wash her hair with it.
Rubbing alcohol and a plastic Walmart bag over it. Leave the bag on all day for a few hours as they play on the weekends or over night. I promise it’s that cheap and easy. Do it again in two weeks to make sure you get any eggs left behind. YOU DON’T HAVE TO CUT THEIR HAIR! also mayonnaise works too. You can alternate off you are worried about the hair getting dried out, but I never had problems with dry hair from my kids.
There are hair salons that specialize in head lice removal. Check your city/town.
My mom washed my hair with kerosene a week straight. I have THICK and long hair. And it worked
Rubbing alcohol on her head then cover it with like a Walmart bag and then leave it in for quite awhile and then wash her hair out and comb through it again it suffocates the lice with the strong smell of rubbing alcohol and then placing the bag around her hair line.
I’d meths her hair! It’s a extreme nit infestation you are dealing with
We soaked their hair with veg oil, then covered with Saran wrap to suffocate all… then combed out and washed using Dawn dish soap to get the oil out… tried alot of things before that, spent weeks and tons of money and that’s what finally worked…
Real Mayo and apple cider vinegar for as long as she can stand!
Vinegar 30 min mineral oil 2 hours wash with tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner
Depending on where you’re at, they may have a removal place. In pa, we have Lice Lifters.
Vasaline, sounds horrible but drench her hair in it. Put it in a bun and put a plastic bag over it for about 30min.
Then, wash it with “Jabón Zote” it’s about $.88-$1.00 in the laundry Isle at Walmart. It will wash the Vaseline out well. Plus, it’s also used for lice in MX.
Then, drench her hair in white vinagre, put up. Put a plastic bag over her hair for 30min. That will help the eggs stuck to her hair come out. Then, comb her hair.
You can wash again with Jabón Zote, then add a mixture of coconut oil and tea tree to her hair. Place in tight braids.
(Do that every 2-3 days and wash everything. I would just recommend getting new hair ties and brushes)
After about 1week and a half. It should go away but you must do it around every hatching cycle. This was the ONLY thing that helped me once. It was super lice. Your hands and back will hate you but it solved a serious problem. Never got them like that again!
Cut her hair to shoulder length, Use a jar of mayonaise and cover her hair with it before bed…put saran wrap over it…let her sleep with it on…wash it out, then comb through with a fine tooth comb to get eggs and dead lice out.wash all bedding with hot water …vacuum everything. Trust me ,IT WORKS!!
Girl just Mayo. Wrap in a shower cap leave on overnight. Do it every other day til it’s gone. I had it bad when I was younger and my hair was thick and past my ass. My mom also combed my hair everyday.
Cut her hair to shoulder length for starters…a lot of good suggestions here along with what you’re already doing
Google and see if there is a lice clinic near you
Mine had it for months in, 1st grade. I tried everything! The only thing that worked.for us was conditioner with tree oil and mouthwash. I’d put in their hair and let sit for at least an hour and then start combing them out. I have twins with hair to the middle of their backs.
And I did this a few times a day till I didn’t see anymore. Vacuumed, washed, all stuffed animals went in triple bagged trash bags outside for days on end.
I also used said conditioner concoction every night for years. Never had them again after using that stuff. I still add s couple drops of tree oil in our conditioner.
If u put some kind of hair oil in her hair weekly it will stop them being able to grip on to her hair it worked a treat for my kids with afro hair
I don’t know where you live, but there is a lice clinic based out of Texas that does amazing work. I have seen their videos on TikTok and the products they sell instantly kill lice. If you don’t live in Texas, you can order their products to use at home.
The only thing that has work for me is Tea Tree Oil directly to the scalp, the lice die instantly
Look for a lice lifting clinic… sounds like super lice… we have one in tomsriver nj… not sure where your at…
I know what your going through I just hope you won’t have to do what we did and cut everyone’s hair. Including our pets
Cut her hair. Blow dry and flat iron for 7 days straight. Do it in sections and comb thru to kill any live lice.Use tea tree and cinnamon oil at the scalp. The lice hate it.
Tea tree oil. They’ll start running
Comb every inch with lice comb for several weeks. Use hair dryer… the lice don’t like to be dried out.
Find the source she could be getting it from another household she is visiting family or friends home nothing you treat it with with will last until you find the source don’t forget stuffed animals in the home also
Did you change pillows
Blue listerine with shower cap 2 hours rinse white vinegar with shower cap 2 hours wash with Apple shampoo
Heat lice Don’t like heat.
Put tea tree oil in her shampoo.
Ivermectin paste from the feed store!
My daughter’s hair was the same way when she was little only way we could get rid of them was cut all of her off yes it was horrible we bagged up all of her bedding stuffed animals and all left the in bags for a few weeks we did the mayo treatment worked great
Baby oil soak in a plastic bag on head over night …next day comb lice out …alcohol and wash all linen especially blankets and covers… spray beds and couches with alcohol
And please don’t forget about the car my daughter kept getting them over and over and over I couldn’t figure it out I was scrubbing everything treating her hair bagging up stuffed animals never thought about her car seat but thats where it was coming from once I scrubbed the seat and car they finally went away
Poor baby…be careful of some of these treatments.
A friend used something a few years back that set his little head to burning like crazy. Just me, but I would cut in a cute little style, then treat…carefully.
Thankful I haven’t ever had to do this, so I don’t know. Just be careful.
They have medicine at Walmart that’s for super lice, it’s a spray that you spray in comb out and then wash out, it worked wonders when my daughter, who also had very long hair caught it from a family friend, we also used this blue and white bottle of lice shampoo (I can’t remember the name of it but it was like $15 a bottle) that you wash your hair in everyday, it’s just like regular shampoo but it has the chemicals in it to keep lice away, comb everyday and wash everything everyday as you said you do as well. Finding the source where it’s coming from helps tremendously as well because if you have no idea where it’s coming from and your child keeps going around that then they will continue to get it as well.
Car seats, furniture (including sofas and dining chairs) and use a hot dryer on everything.
See if you have a lice salon by you some will come to home and do head and house for a price my daughter got it went to lice salon and the took care her head and I did my house
you have to bag everything in the house. I think it was 30 days. Make sure no air gets In.
I was the same as a child. I was always ridden with head lice. My dad ended up shaving my head when I was a kid. Cause well hair grows back. There are some nice short styles too. As I grew older tho I started dying my hair and found that kept them away… also putting a splash of tea tree oil in her shampoo will work wonders. Also hair spray works wonders aswell
You are clearly going to have to cut it! And get it thinned.
The only thing that helped us to get rid of them was to cut the hair short and then treat it, with vinegar with water and coconut oil. They’re such a nightmare.
Put mayo in her hair put bag over her hair let it sit about 2 hours . Then come it with the lice comb. Did this to my friends daughter it works !!!
You need to use a blow dryer everyday on dry hair at the roots to kill the eggs. Eggs hatch every five to seven days and it takes female lice ten days to be able to lay eggs. If you understand the science behind lice they really aren’t scary at all. BLOWDRY FOR A FEW WEEKS. They don’t live on surfaces very long but it’s important to PUT up any stuffed animals or anything with fake hair or fur. I’ve been doing this a long time and it works perfectly. After you blowdry the dry hair in sections you need to comb out the brittle dead eggs and occlude the hair with some type of oil. Dimethicone is best and you can order big vittles on AMazon. Al ot of these comments make my brain hurt . More information on lice should be more available. There is such a bad stigma and no one ever wants to talk about LICE but the BLOW DRYER WORKS!!!
Don’t know if you’ve tried Clear Lice shampoo and laundry soap. They also have a spray. Check them out
Tea tree oil! Pure form and add it directly to the shampoo. Not the pre mixed shampoo crap. Also use Fairy Tales Lice Repellant.
We went to a place called stop piojos or something like that. We had them for months. Then we had to desinfect the whole house and cars.
Listerine and Vinegar.
It sounds crazy but it works.
It was the last thing I tried before I resorted to chopping hair because I didn’t know what else to do.
I now swear by it. I wish I would’ve found it sooner.
Pour vadioka on her hair and all liens then wash.
We had the same problem a couple of years ago until someone told me to try hand sanitizer! It worked in the first use!
Dye her hair the same color it is. Battled it for 3 plus years. It’s the only thing that worked
Do yourself too, even if you think you don’t have any. I use to use white conditioners and even leave them in. I even used a bit of vinegar with it too and made the eggs come off the strands like jelly. Sometimes I use a hair straightener to burn (pop) the eggs but be careful doing it because it’s hot you could burn her
If you cut her hair yourself, a trick I have always used on my hair to help it from being so thick is thinning it out with a disposable razor. The reason im suggesting this is because I don’t think there is any hair salons that will cut her hair with having lice. I also started doing the undercut since getting older.
Dry hair using a hair dryer every day. Sounds like a reinfecention or the eggs hatching. Normally two treatments from the MD RX is necessary. If the hair is that long you may need 2 bottles each time.
You have to strip her room all her stuffed animals if she has any have to put in garbage bags and left outside for weeks and obviously change her bedding and the fairy lice’s people are awesome if you cannot get a control on it at home def make sure her room is cleaned thoroughly… def treat anyone in the house too… even if you think they don’t have it the eggs u can only remove with that special comb I’ve had to dry my
Girls hair and even go back in there and use my finger nails to get the eggs off hours and hours for a week or so straight it sucks big time good luck
Depending how old she is, u can straighten her hair.
My mom would put a whole jar of Hellman’s Mayo on my head then a shower cap and blow dry my head and then wrap a towel from the dryer around it and leave it on my head all day. worked like a charm. Only had lice once
Use mayonnaise on her hair and everyone in the house , then bomb the house wash everything piece of bedding , vacuum everything and then lay bomb down . Put mayo in hair lots of it to smother those little bugs put a bag over the hair then comb it out and repeat. If you can afford an exterminator get yourself one. Good luck
Listerine and vinegar and a shower cap. It works!
Trim, hair dye and remember insects dont have lungs, you have to clog their skin with an oil or repel them with a smell/oil they hate
You have to bomb your car too
Have you tried coconut oil or even mayonnaise. I know that sounds gross and it is but it sure did work when I was a kid. I also have had a really thick hair and that was the only thing to work at the time was mayonnaise. Just lay it on pretty thick. You can always use baking soda later to help get the oily hair under control afterwards. And also use a hair straightener to.
Use tea tree oil in the shampoo
I bought these on Amazon and they were a lifesaver!!
Tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar soak for a hour then section hair and comb out nits under hot water, use the lice shampoo, repeat with combing process
Coconut oil or apple cider vinegar
We use the cheapest white conditioner…smoother her hair and then comb with nit comb.
Daily spray with diluted tea tree and keep tied up.
Mayonnaise put it all throughout her hair put a plastic bag over it comb it out in The am
Spray her hair with dog flea and tick by Hertz. Wait 10 minutes and was it out. Spray or wash all cloth or carpet areas, including your car. Keep doing this every 7 days till they are gone.
have you tried Mayo in the hair them wrap it in plastic wrap the. Dry everything on high heat I had lice all the time when I was a kid it sucked
also i don’t know if they still make it but nex was something that worked for me
Cut her hair, use a chemical formula for lice that is prescribed specifically for kids and make sure u get each area of her head…
Mayonnaise. It’s cheap and vacuum the house 2 times a week and clean the blankets at least 2 times a month until you see less and less of lice
