What does your dr. Say?

Please go to the ER to get checked

Not normal at all. You need to be checked. I went thru similar situation. Found out Dr. failed to deliver all of placenta. I ended up with an infection that cause cardiac complications. Please go get checked

We have to listen to our bodies and if it hurts don’t feel right amd 19 postpartum is not normal… its 6 to 8 weeks and possibly the most id ever heard of was 12 weeks with cesarean. I had a horrible experience of not being listened to after childbirth, when my body did not feel right and it nearly cost me my life. I would definitely get somewhere asap. Special prayer for you darling and take care if yourself and listen to your body. Nobody knows it better than you… please update us.

Endometriosis. I had to get hysterectomy. All the same symptoms as yours. Im not a doctor, but do suggest a second opinion. Preferably a female doctor, as they understand our bodies a little better. Good luck

You’re probably becoming anaemic from blood loss by now. I know one person that bled constantly for months. Ended up needing blood transfusions by the time a Dr took her seriously.

Retired OB nurse here - insist your DR figure it out, if not seeing an OB/GYN - find one. 19 weeks of bleeding is not good! Take care of yourself so you can take care of your precious baby.

Sounds like part of the placenta was left in you get a new doctor now

You really need to see a different doctor. You should not still be bleeding or experiencing the other symptoms. You’re going to need to advocate for yourself.

Go to the doctor. To heck with “bothering” the drs/nurses. That’s what they’re there for.

Get another doctor NOW. You said you know your body and this isn’t right, trust your instincts. I have given birth to 8 babies and have never experienced anything like you are describing.

I went to ER couple weeks ago and a lady was there being treated for this. Definitely get checked out. You could be severely anemic.

I had post partum hemorrhage after my first son. A piece of placenta was not removed completely. Had to have a D&C. Mine happened when he was 3 weeks old. Almost died from it. I would insist that they check at least because this is not normal

I had a similar experience for 6 months postpartum and my doctor did the same thing. It eventually just stopped. Hope you heal quick!

You need to see someone. I did have issues for about 10 weeks following a miscarriage, but much of that was not resting the way I needed to…an infection, left over afterbirth that didn’t detach…you do need to see someone and don’t let up till you’ve been thoroughly examined.

I had 4 kids never experienced anything like that I would go to hospital

Get another doctor’s opinion and if not satisfied go to another - keep going until helped. Sometimes it takes going through many doctors to get the right diagnosis and help.

Find another dr. I did that and had a massive infection that could turn fatal if left alone to long

My sister almost died, with exactly those symptoms. Part of the placenta was left inside after birth, it was found when the new doctor did a D&C. My sister finally got a second opinion, the first doctor did not believe there was anything wrong. DO NOT WAIT! Please get a second opinion and stick to your insistence that they check everything out. Please!!! Best wishes for answers.

It’s because of the depo same happened to me when I got it after birth

If your dr is brushing you off find a different dr IMMEDIATELY! I’ve had 4 kids and that is NOT normal. Listen to your body! You know your body better than any dr ever will!

Why you would trust a Dr that just brushes off your concerns is beyond me. See another Dr ASAP

You NEED TO CONSULT A DOCTOR. Bleeding like that is not normal for that long. Please bother them doctors n nurses. Things can be really bad and the more you wait the worst. And if not then at least you’ll have a doctors diagnose. Please go have a check up with GYN.

You need to have an Ultrasound of your uterus. Is the discharge foul smelling? If so there is likely an infection. Please don’t wait, insist on an ultrasound, if not from you OB from your PCP.

OMG sounds like your uterus won’t shut down I had that happen to me after the birth of my daughter I bled for a year till I lost alot of blood they had to do hysterectomy thank goodness I was done having kids you better go to your obgyn don’t fool around and good luck

Could be retained placenta or just a thickened endometrial lining. You need a pelvic ultrasound first and then they’ll decide if you need a D&C or other treatment (ablation, etc)

Stop the depo shot NOW I used it than ended up w breast cancer as see a dr ASAP

I went through the same thing after my first child was born. You need to go back to the doctors, they need to do a DNC and put you on the strongest birth control pill they have. I bleed for about a year before they did anything. It was the worse. The depo shot after a birth is horrible. It makes you bleed heavier and longer with all the side effects. I only know because I went through it and so hasn’t a few other females I know.

Is yr Dr an obgyn? If not, go to a one.

You should go to another Dr. multiple doctors there was a case that I have heard about and the doctors left a towel in the women on accident and they found out later that’s what her pain was from

Doesn’t sound normal to me. I had four kids. All bleeding stopped by 3-4 weeks! And I didn’t have pain. You should see another doctor right away.

I would go back and tell him
To do a d&c. When i had my first child back in 95 I was still bleeding 6 weeks post delivery and thought nothing of it since all books say u bleed up to six weeks. Well I would up getting a back ear infection and my face blew up like a ballon went into hospital only to find out that I had to have a D&C and when they did part of the placenta was still inside so that is why I was bleeding and got infection. I had to also have 2 blood transfusion while in hospital. So don’t take this lightly. Go back and tell them to check and to do this. I am Telling you I almost died my hemoglobin dropped down to a 3.5 which is dangerous low for the human body

Definitely not normal. My dr was concerned that I was still bleeding at 7wks post. Wanted to give it 2 more weeks and if it didn’t stop they would have done an ultrasound to check for tears. You need a second opinion asap. That much bleeding is not normal at all.

This is not normal. My doctor failed to remove all of the placenta and I had heavy bleeding. I needed a D and C to stop it.

Thats not normal you need to see a doctor right away.

You need to see another doctoror go to the ER. Asap. That is NOT normal I have had 3 children so I’m telling you there is sumthing wrong. You need to make some one listen to you before you bleed out. May God be with you. Please go to the ER.

I had my daughter cesarean afterwards I continued to bleed just like you with pain the doctor thought a D & C would help but when they did that they said that I would possibly need a hysterectomy as it turned I needed the hysterectomy before my daughter was 1 yr old please don’t wait too long go see another doctor if your doctor won’t listen

Why are you asking for answers? You need to see your doctor! Afterbirth could have been left in you!

Might also need to be checked for a bleeding disorder. Those are simple lab tests.

I’ve had 7 children and never did this if you have a tear or some retained placenta you will be going into toxic shock definately go see whats causing it that baby and husband need you

Experienced exactly the same symptoms, not after childbirth but later on at the change of life. I became very ill and run down after bleeding constantly for weeks, eventually, I was so weak and depleted I had to get medical help, the hospital corrected the problem very quickly and things were soon back to normal healthwise. I suggest you seek medical help immediately.

Any temp? Not normal-sounds like it’s D&C time! See your doctor and don’t let her blow you off. Should’ve been “ healed” by you postpartum check-up!

my Grandaughter had these same issues. they brushed her off, and then she ended up in the ER and hospitalized. You need to go to urgent care or another OBGYN ASAP!!!

I’m afraid I would be going to a specialist. Who knows what the Dr. left or failed to take out. Don’t wait until you’re dead and let someone say maybe we should’ve insisted she go to another Dr. I’m 68 and way more outspoken then when I was young. Go to another Dr until they find out whats wrong. Save your life and be there for your baby

Time to go see another doctor. You definitely need to see some one who does not brush you off. This is not normal. Best wishes to you.

Oh honey!!! Call your doctor or obgyn and tell them!! Don’t rely on FB to diagnose your issues - leave it to the professional!! Your health my be at risk!! And your family!! GL

What you describe is not normal. You should not have pain from the weight of your baby on your abdomen, and the bleeding as much as you are also not normal. I would insist they do a once over to look for cause. Take care!

I agree with everyone you need to see another doctor ASAP.
I can’t tell you how many times a doctor didn’t listen to me about what was going on about myself or my kids.
If it doesn’t feel right go with your instinct.

This does not sound normal at all to me. But when I was on the shot I bleed the whole it I was on it. So my dr made me stop getting it right away I think I only got two shots.

That’s not normal, you need to go see another Dr. ,soon maybe they left something inside of you like a sponge or something else ! That’s happened before not to me , but my friend it did

That Depo shot is great for preventing pregnancy (I mean nothing is 100). I used it for 20 years but it does come with serious side effects. I suffer migraines (have since 14), but for years the day after I got my Dep I suffered from the worst migraines, that often caused me to go to the hospital & it made my daily migraines more frequent. The Depo stopped my periods completely (it’s been 3 years since my last one & still no period & I’m 43). Now it made my sister & close friend bleed every single day the entire 3 months so they only got it the once. I would absolutely get a 2nd opinion because there is no normal with the Depo, everyone has different results & with your other symptoms yeah get a second opinion and most importantly you know your body better than anyone else and if you know you don’t feel right keep seeing doctors until someone helps you.

I pray all turns out well for you …quickly. I will say this as well…please listen sten to your body…if your Dr is dismissing what you’re saying to her…then maybe its time to dismiss her and find another Dr.

They should not have giving you the depo just days after you had your baby! you’re Hormones are trying to regulate themselves and then you gotta go and give yourself more hormones they messed you up that’s their fault you’re bleeding so much because he didn’t wait for you to have your first period or your body to regulate itself back to normal this is why doctors wait till your 6wpp check before giving birth control

I bled a full year on the depo shot after my second child was born… they gave it to me before leaving hospital too… if you have pain tho then let your Dr know… are you nursing?

I definitely think you should be seen and have a ultrasound done. I had placenta left inside and had to have a D&C

I haven’t ever had any children but that doesn’t sound right to me. And I would get another doctor for sure. Would go to hospital.

I had this about a year ago and talked to my ob/gyn and they kept assuring me it was all normal. I went to have my IUD inserted and they found a mass. I had surgery a week later and had a retained placenta piece.

You need to get checked by a different doctor(s). Listen to your instincts (your body). This is not a normal post postpartum experience that you describe.

I did that for a few months. I had a bladder infection. However, gall bladder issues could also be a concern. Please go to another doctor who can run a few simple tests.

Girl you better get another doctor that shouldn’t be happening. I had 3 c- sections an only bleed for a week after the last, nothing like what you are going thru.get pass your doctor go to another

Please get this checked out by her insisting she do something do blood work or go to someone else probably second choice should not be bleeding this long

You should have went to the Dr when you continued to bleed past 4-6 weeks after birth. 19 weeks is absolutely horrifying and dangerous. Go to the hospital!!

Insist they take your concerns seriously. My daughter was 6 weeks early, placenta was removed manually in pieces. Ultrasound done at the time of delivery. I felt fine until I started passing huge clots 3 weeks after she was born. I was in and out of the hospital several times…they just said it was my period…but I knew it wasn’t. They finally did a scope and D&C almost 2months after she was born. Testing of tissue confirmed placenta tissue was left behind. We need to speak up and insist when things aren’t “normal”…best of luck

You think that would be normal, it does not sound like it , it is far too long to have all of these problems you are mentioning, why wait, better be safe than sorry. You want to be in good health for your baby it can’t be easy.

Not normal had like that for six months when I told my Dr she said your not going home put me through surgery was retained placenta until removed go see a Dr.

When I had my daughter I was given two epidurals(about 2 hrs apart) to induce labour Bc she had to be delivered Earley…my placenta ripped from my uterus wall bc of the epidurals…I bled until and fortunately they got it stopped…maybe perhaps a small portion of your placenta ripped from the uterus wall…I almost had to have a D&C which would stop the bleeding…perhaps this happened during your delivery…Have you talked to your Dr.?

Get another doctor. I had bleeding for months after baby and found out I had thyroid disease. A second doctor found this.

Speaking as a woman that never ovulated correctly, your pregnancy and the depo shot probably knocked you out of hormonal wack. You should see your doctor to make sure nothing more ominous is going on. But most likely your body changed with the pregnancy. JMO and experience only. Speak to your doctor.

I haven’t dealt with this but you know your body. 19 weeks is a long time and if it were me, I’d be looking for another doctor

Almost a year before l got relief! At times gushes but always assured we all heal differently!

Go get another opinion ASAP. If you have a gut feeling somethings wrong, act on it. That’s what doctors are for, why suffer. Good luck!

I took the depo shot after having my last child. When I went off of it I could start a period so they gave me something that did make it start. Then I couldn’t stop bleeding. They gave me something else to straighten that out. Turns out I’m estrogen and progesterone sensitive and should have never taken any birth control. I ended up with breast cancer. I hope you have gone back to the doctor to get everything straightened out. Hormone issues are not to be played with.

You’ve given your dr more than the benefit of doubt! Get another dr first thing on Monday!!

You need to get this taken care of ASAP. I don’t celebrate be this is serving.to be taken lightly.

Christina unger is right. You definatly need to see a doctor. 100% please go get looked at and dont let them say its nothing because there is a problem.

That is not normal at all. You could still have placenta in you and that can be deadly. Your dr should take you more seriously. Go to the hospital.

Please see another doctor. You may have retained something after delivery causing you to bleed. You don’t want an infection on top of things. Something is not right. Listen to the nudges your mind is giving you.

Go to another doctor. Get a second opinion. A third of necessary. This isn’t normal. For your doctor to say some women take longer to heal is bs if you’re still bleeding at 19 months postpartum.

It is the depo shot! Don’t take it anymore. I did the same thing and bled for 6 months straight heavy. You probably will not be able to do the depo shot ever.

Still bleeding for 19 weeks after giving birth isn’t normal. Please see another doctor as soon as you can.

Find a different Dr. for a second opinion!!!

Tried depo once, every side effect, including no sex drive! Never took another one. Took a year to get right! :woman_shrugging:

This does not sound right at all, please go get checked by another doctor, maybe she left a sponge or something in you, demand a stomach ex-ray.
