Is it true you get more sick when you are pregnant with a boy?

I had no morning sickness whatsoever with my boys

Idk cause I was super sick with my girl

No. I had one of each.

I had no sickness with my son til I hit second trimester and developed food aversions, just the smell of certain things took me to the toilet. Every pregnancy is different, the symptoms change each time as well. What you had in your first will be different with your next.

My first was a boy. I was sick my entire pregnancy. Throwing up all day everyday until I gave birth. I still gained more weight with him and had 25 pounds of water retention than with my daughter. My daughter I was sick for probably three months but lost weight with her, I was also more active though and no water retention. I was 192 pounds when I had my son and 173 pounds with my daughter so BIG difference with each.

I’ve heard the opposite that you get more sick with girls. That being said, I had a girl first and just had a boy and when I was pregnant with him I was sick for longer. With my daughter, I was super sick from about 6 weeks until 14 weeks. But with my son, it started around 5 weeks and wasn’t as bad but lasted on and off throughout the whole pregnancy.

I think every pregnancy is different, that’s why I don’t belive you can tell by how sick you get.
I had all day sickness with my first one and I had it till he was born. My second I got real sick first months around 3 months I was good. My last pregnancy was very enjoyable, I eat everything I could and wanted. :joy:

Nope. I was worse with my daughter. Same sickness as my son which caused me to take medication just to hold down water. But with my daughter it was worse because all smells set me off. I had to stand out on my balcony (in the winter I may add) chewing on ice chips just to get relief.

My first 2 are boys. I am pregnant with my 3rd and I knew from the get go I was having a girl. This pregnancy is 1000 times harder and more different than my boys. I couldn’t eat or smell food cooking because it made me so sick. Even now there are still some things that make me so sick. Lots of mints will help. Keeps tummy calm.

In my experience I was extremely sick with my first (girl)for the first 6 months. I mean throwing up constantly and had to take zofran. My 2nd I was nauseated a little maybe threw up once. I did take zofran when needed but only in the first couple months. I thought I was having a boy because it was so much better than my first, but she’s a girl!! My third I don’t remember ever being nauseated and it was the easiest pregnancy. I had a boy. I heard girls give their mamas more trouble and I believed it. But I know every one had different experiences.

I have 2 boys and both pregnancies were adorable and perfect; no sickness, no water detention only gained about 18 lbs, healthy babies (7lbs 7 oz, 7 lbs 2 oz) full term!

I had no sickness for my son either. I think every pregnancy is different and it just depends on the type of changes your body goes through. I thought bc I was having a boy and didn’t have any sicknesses. Never vomited or anything that my son was on the bald side. Then that boy was born with a full head of hair and long. Everyone was surprised. Lol

When I was pregnant with my son I never had heart burn, nausea or vomiting not even once. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was pucking morning, noon, and night even before I found out I was pregnant. I pucked every day for the 35 weeks I was pregnant with her.

Nope! First child boy, second child girl, third child Unknown (won’t find out for a couple more weeks) and I’ve been sick with ALL of them to the point of needing medicine. Gender has nothing to do with it, it’s a wives tail. All based on hormones and each pregnancy is just different

I have 3 girls… Wasn’t really too sick on the first 2 but on 3rd my God I was so bad for the whole pregnancy so it doesn’t really mean much… There all different

I have 2 boys, the first one I threw up all day every day during first trimester … second baby I didn’t throw up at all but was so nauseous every day into second trimester and lost more weight!

Well with my first (a girl) wasn’t to sick but with my second pregnancy I was soooo sick it was twin boys. So good luck, maybe it’s twins.

With my son I felt sick twice during my whole pregnancy but I wasn’t sick once but tiredness was a killer and from 20 weeks so was heartburn x

Idk I was violently ill with my first son. Puked until the day I gave birth. My second boy, I had more normal symptoms and one the second trimester hit, I was fine. So I don’t think it matters really.

With both of my boys I was sick as early as 4 weeks up until I delivered, was on 3 different kinds of nausea meds and had to have fluids. Couldn’t even keep water down 90% of the time

I had awful sickness with my first son I was sick constantly was on medication wore wrist bands absolutely nothing worked but with my second I was sick twice and that’s it all pregnancy’s are different :woman_shrugging:t3:

True for me. I was soooo sick with my son. Could not keep anything down. Not even soup. It was awful.

No scientific proof to back up gender having a cause on level of sickness. Every pregnancy is different. I was violently ill with my son but several friends and family members weren’t sick at all with sons. I also know plenty of people who were very sick with daughters or not.

With my first boy I was not sick at all. My second boy I was sooo sick. I had to get iv hydration 3 times a week and medication did not help

I didn’t have morning sickness just nausea but I get that usually anyways without pregnancy lol. I only puked a few times and it was only when my son didn’t like something I ate lol.

My first was a boy and I wasn’t hardly ever sick. This pregnancy which I think is a girl but won’t know until august I’ve been so so sick and just felt absolutely awful

Every pregnancy is different whether it’s a boy or girl. My second pregnancy all symptoms pointed at a girl. Still, I had another boy lol. Boy mom for life yall❤️

I had hyperemesis with my girl (vomited day and night every day until I had her) but I was only sick for 6 months when I was pregnant with my son.

With my daughter the morning sickness was at the end of my pregnancy and it was more like , all the time sickness

I didn’t have much morning sickness at all with one of my sons and then constant morning sickness for months with another son. It’s just different for everyone.

No, my boys I was Nauseous for a few days, then with my older daughter and this pregnancy(which is a girl) I had morning sickness so bad.

No. I have 4 girls and I’ve been so sick I lost a ton of weight to not even having an upset stomach. Trust me I was excited on 3 and 4 bc I had no morning sickness, I thought they’d be boys. But nope.

Nope. My oldest I had bad morning sickness for 6 weeks, my daughter was the same, my 2nd boy (3rd pregnancy) was 2 weeks of slight nausea, 4th pregnancy (miscarriage) was virtually no nausea, and 3rd boy (5th pregnancy) was no nausea at all.

I’ve been so sick lately and that how I was with both pregnancy with my sons. Lost 22lbs so far since I found out I was pregnant and still getting sick.

I had a boy and had an amazing pregnancy, my sister has a boy first and had an amazing pregnancy, then she had a girl and it was a horrible pregnancy :woman_shrugging:t2:

Everyone is different …different experiences for all. I have a boy and a girl and didn’t experience any morning sickness for neither pregnancy.

My last one was a boy and i had chronic morning sickness (all day tho) my entire pregnancy. God awful. So i feel for you.

My son made me ridiculously sick from conception lol
… My daughters pregnancy was so easy. Was nauseous for 2 weeks physically got sick 2times the entire pregnancy.

I wasn’t sick at all with my daughter, my son I could barely eat and had terrible acid until 24 weeks :woman_shrugging:t3: xx

In my experience it’s the opposite. I was sick with all my pregnancies but the girls were so much worse.

I had no morning sickness or really much of any symptoms at all when I was pregnant with my son. But I haven’t had a girl so I can’t compare.

I had mild hypermesis with both my girls… my boy pregnancies were good, only time I vomited was when I coughed too much lol

I was so sick with my first daughter I only gained 11 pounds. She was 8# 13oz… my 2nd a boy I wasnt as sick an only gained 21#

My first was a boy and I was never sick. My second was a girl and I was literally sick until I gave birth. I was constantly vomiting while pregnant with her. And have been fine since I gave birth

Not always I wasn’t sick with my son but this pregnancy with my daughter I was sick for the first and second trimester

I have 3 boys and had no sickness with any of them. Sometimes I questioned if I was really pregnant lol. I think everyone responds to pregnancy differently regardless of the sex of the baby.

I got more sick with my daughter than I did with my son. Everything was more intensified with her.

both of my kids pregnancies were the exact same. I didn’t find out what i was having for my second so I was convinced he was a girl but he wasn’t lol

When I was pregnant with my daughter I was sick for the whole 9 months. I couldnt leave my bed most of the time. Just getting up to walk to the kitchen made me vomit day or night.

I was 100x more sick with my girl. Even my husband said “you don’t look like you’re dying this pregnancy” (it’s a boy)

I’ve read that moms tend to be more sick with girls because of the extra estrogen.

It was true for me. Dont have anything to compare it to but I was sick the first 21 weeks. Hugs

In my personal experience I was loads more sick with my boys. I had barely any morning sickness with my daughter.

I was sooooo sick my first trimester with my son:nauseated_face::nauseated_face:

I didnt get sick at all with my oldest (girl) but with my son and current pregnancy(girl) I was sick all day/everyday until 12 weeks

With my first son i got sick once when i was 6 weeks when i was cooking eggs then any other time when i seen raw food cooking. With my daughter i didnt have a bit of morning sickness/nausea. Then my third child another boy i was nauseous until the day i gave birth.

I didn’t have morning sickness with either of my boys. My first was a breeze and my second (pregnant now at 33 weeks) was also easy… but remember everyone’s body is different

I actually wasn’t as sick with my boy than I was with both of my girls!! I felt amazing when I was pregnant with my son!

Nope…with my first son I was never sick, the next three were HORRIBLE pregnancies this last one no sickness again…five boys…

Each pregnancy is different sometimes ur sick with a boy sometimes with a girl it just depends

I puked for about 6 months with my son, and only 3 or 4 months with my daughter

I had a boy and had morning sickness for 7 months straight and threw up 5-7 times per day. It was awful

I had really bad morning sickness that lasted all the way to the middle of my second trimester. And I had a beautiful baby girl. :woman_shrugging: think that’s just something people say.

Nope not true I am pregnant with my 4th boy 1st and 3rd pregnancy no morning sickness 2nd and this one terrible morning sickness

I was pregnant with a boy just felt constant nausea but mever threw up accept once due to heart burn

Lets not go there…even the Duchess Kate had nothing on me, just the memory of it, 60yrs ago, makes me squirmy in the my tummy. With each.pregancy, I was a dead loss until the 7th month, The foul taste and heartburn didn’t abate till after each birth of my sons…:cold_sweat:

For me it was true and the dr said it was due to all the different hormones

I got more sick carrying my girls, except my last girl that’s why i thought it was a boy. At least that’s how it was for me

I have 3 girls and currently pregnant with my first boy…yes I was sick for 3 months!

I did. More emotionally unstable as well. I had rage like crazy with my son. My girls, not as bad.

I was sick every single moment I was pregnant with my first… GIRL.
I was only sick maybe 5 times with my second…
GIRL!

I’m having a boy and I never had morning sickness or even knew I was pregnant until about 12 weeks. :joy:

No not true, I had no sickness with my son but with my 2 girls, I had all day sickness from about 4 weeks up until.the day they were born. It was awful x

No way to tell by sickness. First son i didnt have morning sickness. Second son i was puking like every 20mins.

Not true- my best friend had both a girl and a boy and had morning sickness throughout both pregnancies. I’m pregnant with my first (boy) and I only had morning sickness until 14 weeks

Wasn’t sick with any of my 3. First two were boys and third was a girl. Felt the same for all of them.

I have 2 boys my first I was sick 6m my 2nd I wasn’t sick at all

No i was sick with my second and she is a girl… my first I wasn’t sick at all and she was also a girl

I have two boys and am Pregnant with a girl, no sickness with either boy, but was from about week 5-15 with this one

Nope. I got sicker with each pregnancy. First was a boy and next 2 were girls

I was never sick at all and had 2 boys. It doesn’t have anything to do with the sex of the baby. It has to do with how well your body handles all the extra hormones flooding your system.

I was sick every single day until I had my daughter so I don’t think so

Morning sickness whole time started around 6 weeks until delivery. Two boys. Two girls 1 angel baby no sickness at all

I had no sickness at all throughout my entire pregnancy with my son. I was 10 weeks pregnant when I found out I was pregnant too.

I had no nausea with my first baby (boy), this time around I get sick everytime I smell raw meat, or donuts, or pizza :sob:

With my first son, it was like I was never pregnant. With my second my gallbladder went to hell and I was in bed rest.

I had a boy and had no sickness. Each child is different hun xx

No i had barely any sickness when i was pregnant with my son. Im now 28weeks with a girl and was sick the whole first trimester and it has now came back a few days ago.

I had night sickness for maybe a month and after (and before) nothing.

No I was more sick with my daughter. Nd I have had 3 boys and a girl

Staying sick with my boy. Wasn’t sick at all with my girl, middle child. And my oldest was a boy and I was sicker then now with him as well.

2 boys and had horrible morning sickness with both. 2nd has been WAY worse

I’m on babe #3 and haven’t had any kind of sickness with the two I have now nor the one on the way in which I have a son daughter and soon another daughter!!

I was sickkkkkk from about 5-13 weeks with my daughter. So it’s kinda hard to tell.

Sicker with my girls. I have 2 and I also have 2 boys . I stayed sick earlier and longer with both the girls

I had like no sickness with my son but my daughter I was sick literally all the time I had to get nausea pills.

Depends on your body. I have 2 boys and I don’t have any sickness at all.

3 girls 2 boys Not sick with any of them !

My son made me so sick but so did my daughter I was so sick with both of them it hurt

Nope. I have 2 girls. Puked my guts up from when I knew and my last when I was puking during labor!
