I think I’ve decided on a name for our little girl due in 7.5 weeks, but I’d really love some more ideas for “just in case”. I like more unique, different spelling names. I already have a Leilah and Paislee. Thanks in advance!

We have Laney (meaning, “Ray of Light”) for our 1st born. We thought it went nicely with our cat’s name, Layla (which I see you have, spelt differently). If our son was a girl we were going to call him Lydia (so we’d have Laney and Liddy). He was a boy and ended up being Vinny (Vincent on birth certificate). Good Luck!

I’ve always loved Leilani. I gave my daughter a middle name I did not like because I allowed my husband to choose her middle name and he passed it off to his mother. I dislike that name to this day but the poor woman was pretty much on hospice and it became more of a guilt to say no. My husband doesn’t even call her by that name. I know I must sound selfish but I really wanted Julianna or Leilani and got stuck with Roselena. She chose Elena, I added the Rose.

Just remember that while the name may be unique your daughter will eventually get tired of telling people how to say it and teachers will butcher it continually. My son’s complaint is nothing ever has his name on it spelt right. Jerrod not unique but spelt weird thanks to dad
