He definitely needs a caretaker if he’s disabled, but it seems as if he wants you to pay him to be his caretaker…
IF you love him & want to make it work, several things need to happen.
Find out if his disability qualifies for any home health aide help. They will come in as much as your insurance covers & they do laundry, dishes, vacuum, cooking meals, bathing & changing his clothes & bedding, drive to store, pharmacy or doctors appointment…
Get an exterminator to the home ASAP to get the rodent problem under control. It’s unsanitary & “creepy” to share your home with mice & noone wants to live that way. Both of you share the cost.
Hire a maid once a week for a deep clean, & once per week for a light clean. Coupled with the home health aide, the house should stay cleaner longer. Again you both share the cost.
He needs someone to “take control” of the house that’s evident. & He seems depressed. Check in on his mental health as well. Foster any hobbies he has outside the house, & having more time with family & friends whole you work.
If that all sounds too much, it might be best to leave this relationship. But if you want “change” with him, you will have to be the one to make the change.
