My kids constantly wants to go to bed with juice and i am trying to break her of it…what can I do to stop this? i have tried water but she freaks out
Help a mama out and respond anonymously on our forum. My child wants to go to bed with juice: Advice?
slowly dilute the juice maybe
We use water flavoring no added sugar and color free
Sugar free juice should be ok.
Cold turkey and ear phones. Or a trade, music or a new stuffed animal that she only gets without juice. Big kid taxes.
Personally I just didn’t give in… I mean it is the most simple solution… yes she’ll freak out but no it won’t last forever I promise… milk or water at bed is suggested by doctors and dentists… my daughter wanted juice also and gave me crap when she was little but I told her it’s a small amount of water or nothing… she took nothing at first then started sipping water.
Say no and don’t give in
When kids learn that you won’t give in kids stop “freaking out”
Have no juice in the house
Be the parent and do what is best for your kid and put your foot down and say no…
i cant see the problem here, just let her av it, its just a drink
Start diluting the juice heavily until she’s no longer drinking it at all. Water is so beneficial and will also help reduce any future cavities.
Get the little MIO things and then she can pick out her own flavors and make it fun.
Say no…
My sister let her son go to bed with juice and his teeth rotted from it and had to get them surgically removed.
Say no. They can have a giant fit, but y’ll save them pain and save yourself a ton of money on dentist bills.
I mean everyone says no but we all know the crazy stress of a lil one freaking out and neither of you need that stress. It’s of those ments of picking your battle. Is it really causing any harm to her or is it just a comfort situation. What I did was just water down juice once she fell asleep I would take it and put it in the fridge. It’s a total comfort thing after awhile she replaced that comfortable item with( my daughter was her blanket, of course the one I hated the most but oh well). Most the time it’s just a soothing comfort thing and thats ok just try redirecting and in time she’ll do it herself. Most people for get that lil ones don’t understand the world and its scary so a comfort thing is nothing wrong. And in the future it helps her with being able to comfort herself in situations in a healthier manner.
Very bad for the teeth
Start a routine of having before bed time. Pretends it is a tea party. Then explain to her that she has already had her juice. Make it a fun time. Doesn’t have to be long.
Get the water enhancer flavors. Makes the water taste and look like juice
Water it down, more water than juice then give her to choice, it’ll rot her teeth
Try flavor drops, but still the sugar has long term effects on teeth and gums. It’s expensive…
My water currently tastes like raspberry lemonade
Say no… try to swap the juice with a bottle of water. And only a bottle of water can be taken to bed.
I don’t do drinks in bed.
It’s OK if children freak out. Ignore it. YOU are the parent and SHE is the child. She doesn’t have the capacity to understand the long-term consequences of her actions. NO JUICE IN THE BOTTLE AT BEDTIME. It will rot her teeth. Water is the best option.
I’d tell her she has water or nothing n send her to bed. Don’t give in its a tantrum that won’t last forever but her teeth rotting will!
Say no and deal with the freak out…
Offer a small amount of juice and when she’s done refill will water, try milk instead with food coloring to make it fun, food coloring in water, fruit inclusions in water, mix fit or other zero calories water flavoring, half water half juice and then taper down, talk to her about it, strike a deal, coconut water is super hydrating and has lots of benefits, one of those fruit and veggie shakes/juice
Water the juice down a little at a time each night add a little more water a little less juice
Plan ahead and discuss that not more liquids are going to bed, they are only for during the day. It helps to get kids involved in a new routine. Ask what they would like to sleep with instead (books or soft toys for example). Take them out shopping to buy the new sleep items. They might still be upset at bed time, but the transition should be easier because they were given choices. You gotta stay firm with your decision and not give in. That only makes it harder
I never let mine have a bottle or a cup going to bed. They could have a drink of their choice before bed, then brush teeth and go to bed.
Just say no, Your the parent. Her teeth will thank you.
Tell her there’s no more juice and you only have water.
Crystal Light might work as a substitute for juice.
It’s okay if she’s not keen on it straight away, just keep offering water. Sugary drinks through the night as so bad for teeth
Let her freak out please ! It will only last a week or two and it will be harder on you than you can imagine but her teeth will rot and it will cause so much pain
Can you swap for sugar free Cordial and water?
I heavily dilute it with water and my little one is happy with that
I don’t let her drink too much before bed though otherwise she’ll leak overnight.
Squeeze a little lemon or lime in some water
Flavored water? And even then gradually dilute it until it is straight plain ole water.
I quit letting my daughter take a drink to bed. I dealt with the meltdowns. She done it a few times then was good.
Tell her it’s gonna rot her teeth that’s why your saying no because you love her and you want her to have healthy teeth and no cavities. And if she still freaks out let her and don’t give in.
I have just won this battle with my nearly 2 year old! I brought her her a brand new bottle which she chose and loves… this bottle only has water in it at all times… I have tried everything else like you. … this worked for us. She drinks water most the day now yayy
Just water it down half and half, and keep watering down until it’s practically flavoured water.
It’s hard but just take them away
They will fight it but once they learn the tantrum won’t work baby would eventually stop asking for cup
Make a big deal about her getting her “before bed” juice. Remind her that after a certain time water is always available if she needs it in the middle of the night (and set easy time access cups in the bathroom to back this up) but that we can only have water after bed time
Just take it. Her teeth with start to rot. Don’t keep watering down anything just take it. It will probably be hard for the first week or so but she will get used to it.
Say no, and support her through the ensuing meltdown. You can be a gentle and loving parent and still have boundaries, especially when it concerns their long term health.
Slowly start adding water over a few weeks untill it’s just water. Make sure they are brushing teeth every morning and night
Just let her have sugar free diluted juice
I get it’s not as healthy as water but it’s better then no water at all. If she doesn’t like water don’t force her.
We as adults don’t drink/eat things we don’t like so why do some adults expect children to?
Teeth will have issues. Put your foot down
No drinks in bedrooms only in kitchen. It’s simply making rules and enforcing them. They’ll catch on fast
I don’t drink water i hate it. My kids either have flavour water or sugar free juice. As a grown adult I wouldn’t be happy being sent to bed with a glass of water. Wouldnt except my children to enjoy it either. Rather them drink something then nothing in this heat.
compromise. try flavoured water instead.
Water it down little by little each day. If she still carries on, let her. I know we like to gentle parent etc but some kids rule us with tantrums. Mum knows best.
You are the parent , you set the rules not your kid .
Say not !!! They will cry but they will be fine
Try sugar free flavored water. Walmart sells little canisters of it in the pop aisle. It comes in different flavors. I drink it all the time. It colors the water so it will look and taste like juice. I save my 2liter pop bottles because each pouch makes 2 liters. There are 6 per canister unless you get the orange flavor… there are only 5 pouches in the orange flavor.
A lot of y’all are talking about try flavored water but flavored water still has sugar/sugar substitute in it so how is this helping her?
My nephew stops drinking a hour before bed why give kids juice at bed anyway or any fluid
Crystal light or add food coloring to the water
Or water down the juice
Put the juice away and tell her she won’t get juice at all then. That’s not good for teeth!
Let her freak out. She’ll stop when she realizes you’re not gonna give in. Going to bed with juice is gonna rot her teeth which can cause other health problems.
You’ll just have to let her get upset after telling her no. Better then her teeth getting ruined.
She will have cavities for sure.
You are the adult… Just say no. Let her tantrum and send her to bed. Be consistent
You’re the parent. Say no and stick to it. She might scream at first but she’ll get over it.
What about juice with less sugar in
I gave my kids flavoured water to substitute
Just say no
She will tantrum but will get over it. Better then rotten teeth
Don’t buy juice and show her there isnt any. Just say no. Put your foot down. You might have 3 days of tantrums, but it only takes 3 consistent days to break a habit
Sugar free water flavored packs
For everyone that saying sugar free juice and flavor packets, those have aspartame. Aspartame is really bad for kids, adults too.
Just start watering it down a little at a time until it’s all water or deal with the tantrum.
l Get paid over $118 per hour working from home. l never thought I’d be able to do it but my buddy makes over $18647 a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The possibility with this is endless.

Redirecting...
Water otherwise the sugars and acids will rot away and cause decay.
You’re the parent.
Don’t keep juice in the house. Then there’s no alternative
Wait till she goes to sleep. Swap it.
Get sugar free. The zero sugar minute maid juice is good. Or just keep diluting it more and more.
Take it away and deal with the tantrum lol
Your child shouldn’t be going to bed with any type of drink.
We use water flavoring. It comes in a squirt bottle so just add a little.
My daughters pediatrician told me the other day that’s the quickest way to rot their teeth out
Keep giving water. She will get tooth rot.
You’re honestly just going to have to take it from her and deal with the melt downs. They shouldn’t have anything to drink to go to bed. Sips of water is fine through the night if thirsty but to me needing to suck on like a sippy cup or something to help her sleep is all for comfort.
Mine is like that w chocolate milk
Let her freak out and take juice away at bedtime.
Flavored water. Juice is full of sugars and not good for a child to have before bed.
I’m a mean mom .I’d just take it away and let her throw a fit

Use the sugar free squirts for water.
If shes old enough to understand tell her the truth that it will rot her teeth
Water or nothing. You’re the grownup. It’s bad for her teeth.
Use milk or toddler formula for night night bottles! Or give her something sugar free or water.
Never started letting them have juice or anything at bedtime. So just take it away and deal with the crying.
After leaving my previous job 6 months ago, i’ve had some good luck to learn about this website which was a life-saver for me… They offer job for which people can work online from their house. My latest paycheck after working for them for 4 months was for $18798… Amazing thing about is that the only thing required is simple typing skills and access to internet…

Tell her the dentist told you no juice in bed as her teeth won’t be so healthy
Shouldn’t be going to bed with any drink. Get a drink before bed and then to bed. Never juice. Give water. She don’t want that then she don’t get anything. U can use flavored water to start and dilute it as needed.
