I love the Ophelia Parker. I get the hesitancy of what the initials would say but, honestly, you’ll probably NEVER see it that way. Anytime you would do a monogram, you’d (usually) follow the FLM format; making it OMP. Especially for a girl. Sometimes the FML format is for boys…that or the stacked monogram. I think for a girl, it’s fine. As a southern woman, this is definitely something I took into consideration, too.

After I read this post the first name that came to my mind was Ophelia Grace. But I also like Parker and Rose…And it definitely shouldn’t matter what your family has to say when it comes to YOUR and your HUSBAND’S child.

Once they see her her name will fit her. I didn’t really like the name our son and daughter in law picked but one that precious baby was here her name fit her perfectly. Can’t imagine it being anything else. They can always give her a nickname.

My brother and his wife couldn’t decide between Henry or Hudson and I was all about Hudson but they did the opposite of what everyone else thought and went with Henry. When it comes down to it it was their child lol. But Henry just fits him so much.I can’t see him being a Hudson. It was the perfect name after all.
Ask him how often he thinks she’s hear “I want Ophelia boobs” from immature guys as she gets older. Not saying she should have to put up with it, I just know immature individuals find amusement on being asses.

Ophelia violet is my sudjustion. Unfortunately with the first and last initials being O & M almost everything will sound like opium 
. Go with the flow and roll with it. As for the family’s likes and dislikes…it’s disappointing when people we care and value don’t like the same things we do. Especially in something of this size but that’s the thing, this decision is so big only you & your partner can make it. Anything eles could turn into regret.

I know it’s hard but don’t listen. All I heard from the time I knew I was having a girl was that the Name we chose, Lydia, was homely. No other name would fit my 9 year old (btw named from Beetlejuice) I like Ophelia Charlotte and Ophelia Victoria
So what about what your family says… the child is ours and your husband’s. Name the child whatever you want. Your family will have to deal with it.
Name her what you want. I did that with my son because my MIL didn’t like the name Dayton. We ended up naming my son Jayton.
