my step son wasn’t a talker until he was going on 4 and a half… now he doesn’t stop talking lol. i wouldn’t be too worried. speech therapy could be an option but i wouldn’t even rush on that just yet.
I hear Public Schools will test and treat them at an early age. Thank goodness for our tax dollars.
Don’t seek, for profit Charter Schools or Private Schools=no help
My daughter is 20 mo old and doesn’t say much either. My niece didn’t talk til she was almost 3. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Does he babble? Does he point? Does he understand what you’re saying and can follow simple commands? If so I wouldn’t worry too much he might just be a late talker
All kids are different, but if his pediatrician is recommending…there is obviously a reason. It’s not going to harm him and could only benefit…so why not? I would recommend just approaching the positives that could come from being tested and/or getting speech therapy.
My grandson was the same way. He would bang his head when he would get mad. He stopped doing it after he felt it hurt and we paid no attention to him. He also didn’t start talking until he turned 3 1/2. Now he’s also 4 and he speak full sentences can count and knows his colors can says he’s ABC’s. Just give him some time.
My daughter was same way needs speech therapy and was tongue tied got tongue clipped now she talks
My son who is now 34 was like this but later you couldn’t keep him quiet unless in school or church. He graduated from high school and college top in his class
My daughter didn’t start talking until she was about 2 and half .some kids just take a little longer .
The longer she waits, the more behind the child will get. It doesn’t matter if it is a hearing impairment or if it’s a spectrum issue.
Early intervention is best!!
Early intervention can’t hurt the baby.
Lord bless him to talk
Was this child vaccinated?
