My husband told me I was too old to be an LPN

Your husband is a dick. You’re never too old to go for what you want

** You’re never too old to advance your education/career **
32 isn’t too old - in any aspect of life?!
That man just doesn’t want to see you shine…
My great great grandma was a practicing surgeon up until she was in her late 80s.

Definitely not too old

You’re never too old to learn. I too always wanted to be a nurse. Ended up working in an assisted living home and I was in my late fifties. Loved it!

You’re never too old to follow your dreams

Do what you want to do?

Life is going be hard whether you go to school or not. Nursing school is hard whether you go for Lpn or rn Sacrifices will be made regardless if you go to school or not. In the next 5 years you could be a lpn rn prob be working on your bachelors. Your husband opinion is simply an opinion his job isn’t to understand. This your time to shine His job is love and support regardless. I’m so proud of you deciding to act on your dreams . Step 0-1 is harder than 1-10 aim for what you want not settle for what you feel you can do. You got this. Best of luck to you

Girl, I’ll be 31 next week and im currently in school for my lpn, I have people in my class that’s 40+ . Your never too old to follow your dreams!

Doesn’t matter if you have a dream at 16,25,34 or even 40 onwards if you have a dream you go for it and don’t let anyone discourage you . You don’t want to reach a elderly age and think I wish I did that instead of listening to opinions of others who said I couldn’t do it don’t live life in regret

My aunt is 72 years old & still nursing. That’s a long term degree. Something you can expand on later on. He’s crazy for saying that lol
I’m in school rn to be a teacher just while my kids are young I plan to go to law school when they graduate & I’ll be 40

Nope. You are not too old. I went back to school at 28 and will go back again for even more schooling.
My fiancé just started an entire new career right before turning 32.
You are never too old to follow your dreams. Don’t let your husband take his insecurities out on you

You are never too old to follow your dreams. Go for what you are passionate about.

Most 30 year olds are still chasing young kids, I definitely think you have plenty of time and energy to be a nurse!

Um I’m sorry but you’re obviously too intelligent for him. Never let a “man” hold you back.

Of course you should b concerned at his lack of support but furthermore, the average person works until at least 65. That is MORE than HALF your adult working life from now so exactly how is that too old? We only get one life. Make it one you want look back and have no regret for not following your dreams

Go for it. Tell your husband to quit trying to ruin your dreams!

I worked til i was in my 70s.

Seems like you need to make your dream come true - hubby sounds worried that you might be able to take care of yourself…Why does he get to decide what is too old?

I was 32 when I started and never regretted it. I had two small children but good support from my husband. You’re young. Do it.

I’m 45 and and about to change careers, HE’S not right for telling you that NONSENSE SHAME ON HIM!

He’s projecting his insecurities on to you. Don’t question yourself or your choices. chase your dream.

Either way you will be 34 with or without school. My mom went back to school at 40. She spent most of her life raising kids and finding herself. It’s never too late. I knew a girl in School that finished her medical assistant at 54. Do what you love to do and they make good money!!

Go For It! My cousin became an RN at 52! Follow your dreams <3

You’re going to be 34 anyway, why not be an LPN when you’re 34? I had classmates in vet school in their late 30’s. They had good careers for decades after graduation.

Fuck him. Do what you want. You’re awesome and don’t let anyone tell you different. You’re a goddess

I finished mine at 42. That’s total rubbish. Also, if you’re in the flow, go for your BSN! I highly recommend it. It isnt that much more work than an RN. Even if you work in a non-clinical area, you will always have good job security. Good luck!

Frankly that hubby should be supportive.

Honey you’re never too old to chase after your dreams! However you don’t need a husband that isn’t going to support you in everything you want. Life is just starting for you!

Not even close to being too old! I know people who went through nursing school in their 50’s.

One life to live and your choice as to how you do it

Do it. You’re never too old to do what makes you happy and 34 isn’t very old.

Fallow your dreams, you only get one life ( as far as we know) so whatever calls to you make happen if it’s not hurting your husband or anyone else I think you should really do what you would like. Life’s too short to live with what ifs.

My sister in-law got her RN licensee when she was 51 years old!

You dont need to ask us. You now what you should do. And I wouldn’t listen to your husband. He should be supportive of whatever it is you want to do.

Shoot do it and ignore him.

I’ve considered it but I would only be interested in pediatric positions in particular nicu. Im 31 I don’t even think 32 would be too old to start

What? Too old? Naw my grandma graduated at 41 (she was a grandma already at that point) from college and went on to have a successful career

Nope! Oldest person I know of personally was 53. You’ll have about 30 yrs before you retire. That’s substantial to be working in a helping profession. :blue_heart:

I went when I was 25 and there were grey haired women in my class. Nurses are always in demand.

Go for it girl it sounds like your hubby a bit jel

You are not to old go for it.

Your husband sounds like a jerk… How is your 30s too old? You could graduate and go on to work that profession 20+ years.

Um could he be jealous of u wanting to better yourself. Do what u want. Even if you were a 100 and wanted to do it. DO IT!

Just do you. You know what you are capable of. 34 is young

Show him you can! Period!

I became an LPN at 32…

You are never to old be a nurse. Nurses are always in short supply. Go for it. :+1::+1:

How much do you make an hour now? LPNs make at least $28hr at a non profit even more in a hospital setting or a visiting nurse setting. I would take this into consideration before making your decision not sure of your current financial situation

Find a better husband. The audacity of some people.
