Sounds like maybe he has a drug /gambling : alcohol problem maybe ? First you need to get to the bottom of why he is needing so much money then go from there
They need their own phone plan. Sit down with your husband and discuss setting up a payment plan for his brother. $50 a week to start until they are on their feet and then $100 a week once they are on top of their Billās. When you lend money to someone who is going through a rough patch or is jobless you cannot expect that money to come back to you in a timely fashion unless you set up a payment plan before lending money. Their life is too dismantled to allow for that. It could take years to pay back that kind of money. Also it is not wise to continue to lend money to someone who has not paid back their first debt. That is as important of a lesson for you and it is for them. They need to learn that they cannot borrow if they havenāt paid you back yet. By paying you back they would know they could borrow from you, in a heartbeat, again in the future. You teach others how to treat you by how you allow them to treat you.
Why are you guys carrying his entire family on your phone plan???

Donāt ever lend out money if you expect for it to be paid back

I donāt want to be an asshole but I couldnāt even possibly ask for that type of dept and I would at least try to give you at least 20 30 50 each pay check Iām a man my mama tought me how to stand on my own two feet and Iām a convicted felon and I have change my life my life style and my friends and Iām a business owner for the past 3 year and I am making more money now than when i sold drugs and that took me 7 years from the date I got out of prison and Iāve had a business the past 3 of 7 years and I now pay my parents phone bill have been for the past year if I can change and grow up and the most money my family has ever loaned me 1000 because I can pay that back now 9000 wow thatās hard

Stop lending money. Youāre never going to get it back but you can tell him he needs to start paying his share of the phone bill or they have to get it in their own name
