My son still doesn't have any teeth: Advice?

My son turned one on Jan. 25th, and I thought he had a tooth coming in finally. At one y/I check up the doctor determined it was a “pearl” not a tooth. Said if he doesn’t have a tooth come through by 15 months old he will need X-rays. Anyone else been through this? Anything I can do to help him?

I have never experienced this but if the dr isn’t concerned until 15 months I wouldn’t worry to much about it.

My nephew was born with 2 “pearls” they were the last teeth to come in. No reason for concern.

My son didn’t have any till about 13 months. Then BAM, without 3 weeks he had 10

my daughter’s doctor said to her, have you ever seen a bay with dentures

My son didn’t get any of his teethe until right around his first birthday. He recently turned 2, and now has 12 teeth with 2 more molars coming in. He has literally been teething for a year, one right after the other. Every baby is different. Try not to stress

The later they r getting them the longer they will keep them and the better they will be. My son walked at 7 months but didn’t get his first tooth till 13 months.

I didn’t get my first tooth until I was 18 months old. My youngest daughter didn’t get her first tooth until 13-14 months

If you’re really concerned take him to a pediatric dentist.

My sister in law did with her son.
He got them all ALL at once maybe a few months later.
None of us liked being around that poor unfortunate boy.
He was a very cranky kid for a bit.

My daughter didn’t get her first one until 14 months!

19 months old before her first tooth. 30 years later she has beautiful teeth

My son was 14 months before he got his first tooth… And then he had ALL his teeth in by 16 months. The dentist actually said it doesn’t hurt anything and that kids who have teeth come in later like that tend to have less issues with cavities and things

I didn’t as by…they determined through xrays an bunch other stuff we found 4 major heart conditions…almost killed me…had they not been concerned out my teeth I would of. And fast forward, fixed heart and teeth were coming in good…well fast forward more to like 15, I still had 6 baby teeth with no adult ones underneath. At 21 two baby teeth came out because my adult teeth came in. I’m almost 29 and 3 of my wisdom teeth are just at the surge and drs won’t remove unless all the way through and my 4th only half of it formed. Its all been determined to be the fault of my heart that went unnoticed.

My daughter got her first tooth at 13 months. She had been teething since 3 months but it never broke through.

My son is 14 months and only has a few teeth but I’ve heard the later they come in the healthier their teeth will be.

My daughter went to see an orthodontist when 2 adult teeth hadn’t come through in over a year. The orthodontist told me all I could do was be patient as there is no way to speed up the process…

My granddaughter was 16 months.

Some kids just take longer!! :revolving_hearts: if you are concerned I’d go to a pediatric dentist and start routine check ups from there :revolving_hearts:

Mine didnt have teeth till they were 15 months and all my grandsons didnt either they looked so cute toothless we never worried👼

One of mine was 19 months when she got her first tooth. I’d been so worried.

My niece had her first @ 13 months and she got all caught up in the next 3-4 months.

My daughter was 20m before she got any than they all came in before she was 2

Dont worry some are early and some are late. Just enjoy your baby everything are ok.

Be grateful. The later they come, typically the healthier they are. My son broke his first tooth at 3 months old. Had all his teeth by 1 year and now at 3 years old had to have the top 4 teeth pulled… Those were the first to come in and had no enamel on them at all. So they started breaking and chipping causing pain. I wouldn’t worry too much.

I got 2 daughters 28 29 intelucal disability up to 12 months ago they both still had a few kids teeth

Nothing you can really do to help them come in. It’s something that happens on its own.

My son diddnt get his first tooth till 13 months ! They came in pretty quick after that. Try not to worry. Just means he will have strong healthy teeth:)

My son did not get his teath until he was 17 months then his teath came in top right canine then bottom left. It took a 6 months more before he had matching teeth so he could eat table foods. As an adult he has very healthy teeth.

Honestly I’m surprised the doctor didn’t tell u the longer they take to come through the better :grin:my now 3 year old didn’t get his until about 17 months

Yup, it’s totally fine. I wouldn’t do the X-rays unless he has something else that might suggest a congenital disorder. (Pediatrician)

My daughter didn’t get teeth till she was 15 months the dr said the longer the better , they are healthier the longer they take to come in

My sons first tooth popped through at 10 months. He’s been teething since 2 months. Doc told us not to worry until he’s over a year and doesn’t have any then we will discuss but even then sometimes it just takes a bit.

I wouldn’t worry, if you can’t calm your worry take a trip to a dentist and ask. They probably just aren’t ready yet. My sons front top teeth ain’t come in yet but the ones next to them have. They’re out of order which apparently is rare :woman_shrugging:

My oldest son’s first tooth didn’t come in till the day after his first birthday. The next son’s didn’t arrive until 15 months.

My oldest daughter didn’t get her teeth until after she turned one. The dentist actually told us the later they get them, the healthier their teeth. She is 13 now, has never had a cavity and has very healthy teeth.

I didn’t think my oldest was ever gonna get teeth :joy: but when he finally did he got 3 at once and 6 weeks after those 3 he had a mouthful :person_shrugging: all kids are different so try not to stress about it momma he’ll get them in his own time

My daughter didn’t get her first tooth until 13 months. She’s got great teeth!

My son didn’t get his first in until just after his first birthday… in the 3 months since, we’ve gotten 8. I hope for your sanity… you son doesn’t do the same thing. Lol

Idk why the dr is acting like it’s such a big deal. The longer they take to come in the longer they last.

Yes, if you can’t calm your nerves your dentist can take a quick X-ray or 2 just to check. As a dental hygienist we do that all the time on the kiddos if needed.

My daughter didn’t get any until 13.months. then got.9 in six weeks.

My son was a little behind compared to many other children I know but he will be 2 in March and now has a mouth full. They started coming in a little past one and When they decided to come in they came in fast! Lol

My son didn’t get any until 14months.

Some children don’t finish getting their baby teeth until their 3 years old, I wouldn’t worry about it, they will come when they are ready xx

I know someone whose teeth didn’t start coming in untill 19 months kinda rare but it happens

It happens. My cousin was 18 months and finally got hers. Heck it took 9 months for my daughters 2 front teeth to grow back in!

My little one didn’t get her first tooth til a few weeks after her first birthday. Her doctor wasn’t worried about it. Once she got one, she then got 3 right after it. And none of them other than her first molars came in in the typical order. She’s now 2 and 2 months and still doesn’t have her k9 nor her 2 year molars, but her dentist isn’t worried about it. Everyone is different.

My son didn’t start getting his teeth till after he turned one, no worries they will come

My daughter was 2 when she got her first tooth

My oldest didnt have teeth till year and half old. My middle 8 months my youngest 2 months

My brothers kid started getting teeth like a month after he turned one its fine

My little boy is 14 months and literally just got all 4 of the teeth he has in the last month. They will come when they are ready he is now working on his 5th

My son didn’t have any teeth until 13 months.

My son just got his first teeth right before his 1st birthday. His Dr told me not to worry until after 15mo also.

Our daughter got her first tooth around 14 months and I was super concerned because our son popped teeth at 6 months our doc just said every baby is different and she would pop them on Her own time she encouraged us to give her teethers to get the chewing motion going frequently and she is 17 months now and has 12 teeth and counting

My son was 17 months before his first teeth came in… But one of his meds causes his gums to.toughen. they considered splicing but within a couple days of a consult his teeth broke through

Two of my 3 kids didn’t have teeth until they were well over a year old. Also, if they come in later, they fall out later. But it’s totally fine

Dental hygienist here: we have a saying at my office- 20 teeth by three. Give your little one time. Just like all kids walk and start to talk at different ages, teeth come in differently as well. My daughter only cut her first tooth at 17 months. She’s turning 2 next week and has 16 teeth now, with the last four molars coming in as we speak. It’s been a GREAT year of frozen apple pureesicles.

My girl didn’t have her first tooth until 23 months. Didn’t have any xrays. Have a dentist take a look but may be able to avoid xrays! Some are just late bloomers.

My first 2 kids had teeth before 1 (6 months and 10 months), my youngest didn’t get his teeth in until about 13 months and he had 3 come in at the same time.

My baby didnt get his first tooth until almost 14 months then they came one after another.

My daughter didnt get her first tooth til after her first birthday. As soon as she got the first it seemed like every 2 weeks another one was popping out.

My son got his first tooth at 13 months. I was nervous too haha!

My son had no teeth at 1. Maybe 1 poking. But hes 19 months now (right over 1.5 years old) and he has 8! They all started popping at the same time.

My youngest had 18 teeth at one year. They came in with no enamel on them. Had her first abses at age 5. We brushed, flossed and had regular dental visits. Her sister had good teeth. Every child is different.

My daughter didnt get her first tooth until 18 months but she’s been getting so many now and she is just barely 19 months now. Her doctor said to not worry about it some kids just get them late and so did the dentist. I called a dentist and got her registered at one year old and they said since she didn’t have teeth they didn’t need to see her until 18 months at the earliest. So when we made her an appointment at 18 months they found out her back teeth were cutting first. So, if your baby still don’t have any teeth at 18 months just make a dentist appointment anyway they can tell you more than a regular doctor who is not trained in dental anyway.

It’s ok momma! My son was 14 months when he got his first one. I’d you’re concerned, definitely mention to his doctor. But, some babies are just late and it’s okay. It seemed like as soon as my son got his first tooth, he just started sprouting them within days. My son also had a Pearl at birth and it never bothered him or interfered with his teeth coming in. It went away before he got teeth

Oldest didnt have one til he was 16mths, they all came in rapidly after, zero issues

I have a friend whose baby teeth didnt come in until much later and she lost her last baby tooth at the age of 25. Crazy.

My daughter didn’t get teeth till she was 15 mouth, her doctor she was perfectly fine it just take longer in some kids, she’s 7 now and just lost her first tooth

I used to work in childcare, and we had a child who was 2 and hadn’t cut teeth yet. They had considered going in to cut her gums, but she finally popped one out. One thing the doctor did tell the parents, is that the teeth staying under the gums longer, gives the enamel longer to build up. Just listen to what the doctor says. All children develop different.

My daughter was 15 months before she finally got a tooth. I was getting worried too, but she is almost 3 now with a mouthful of pearly whites.

No big deal, it just takes some kids longer than others

My older son got his first tooth at 15 months. My younger son got his first tooth at 18 months. The younger one is almost 3 and still doesn’t have all his. He’s been going to the dentist for about a year now and she isn’t concerned at all. I would not worry about it. It would be insanely rare for a kid not to have teeth… Like that’s not a thing. So I’d not get x-rays and just be patient. No biggie at all.

My first 2 had teeth at 4 months and my third is only 3 months but hasn’t started teething yet.

I was told the later the baby teeth take to come in, they longer they’ll last :woman_shrugging:t4:
Mine came in late, & I had to get my last one pulled when I was 16, because it was in the way.

My 8 year old didn’t get any teeth until a week after he turned 1.

But then didn’t start losing any till almost 8.

My bb didn’t have teeth until
15 months lol

Both of my sons didnt get teeth until the were 1. My 18 month old was born with 2 teeth though.

My son JUST got his first took at 13m old. I was also told not to stress until 15m. Keep faith mama. :two_hearts::sparkles:

They longer it takes the stronger they are

My LO first tooth came in at 16 months, she’s 5 now and her teeth are great! All will be fine

I had the opposite concern with my daughter…she got teeth almost immediately…and in turn started loosing them much earlier. I had to double check with her dentist…and she said everyone is different. And the sooner they get them the sooner they fall out. I was relieved…so I say ask the child’s dentist and they can reassure you of any issues/non-issues.

My daughter didn’t pop out a tooth til she’s was 16 months. She’s now almost 13 and still has baby teeth. Come in late, fall out late, her dentist told me.

My advice for you would be to invest in Motrin bc once those suckers start coming in you’re going to have one fussy and drooling babe on your hands. My daughter got her teeth late too and they all caught up at once and it was rough.

Every child is different. My daughter had her first 2 upper teeth at 8 months while a friend’s kid her age only grew first tooth at 18 months. Just be patient. My daughter is 5 & now has 6 permanent while waiting for 2 to come out.

One of mine was well over yr xx

All three of my kids eat their first birthday cake with no teeth.

My daughter didn’t get teeth until 16 months and she didn’t get her full set of baby teeth until she was 3.

Just wait. My oldest got his first tooth at 14.5 months.

The later they cut him the better they are

:raising_hand_woman:t3:my daughter was almost 18 months old before she cut her first tooth. I took her to a dentist at 12 months old because I was worried. Dentist actually took X-rays at that time to make me feel more comfortable that they were there. Just taking their time to pop through. Once they started they came very quickly!
