My son's sweating is extreme, any tips?

I have a 16 year old son who sweats so bad he is ruining his shirts. We have tried several different deodorants (men and women) with no luck. He has tried to shower up to 3x a day. Put on deodorant 3x a day with no luck. He is a very active teenager. He is very embarrassed about this. Any suggestions please. Thank you.

Use an antiperspirant instead of just deodorant

I was given pills for sweating too much when it’s cold out I would be dripping sweat and now I don’t have these problems at all even without the medication so definitely take him to his primary care and they should be able to help get him into the right specialist he needs to see and maybe can give him something right now for it to help

Make sure the deodorant has antiperspirant. I sweat a lot when I’m active and it’s something you learn to deal with

Certain Dri helped me, but you need to take him to an endocrinologist ASAP.

It’s called hyperhidrosis. There are several different treatment options. Ask your son’s doctor.

Antiperspirant? And talk with his doctor.

What kinds of deodorants has he tried? Roll on or spray?

Have him checked for hyperhidrosis. Also degree clinical strength. I have that and it’s all that works for me

There is medicated deodorant you can get to help with that problem

Drysol , you can buy it at Walmart.

Botox injections for hands and armpits I know will help. I’ve gotten them myself

Prescription antiperspirant?

Could be hyperhidrosis…talk to his doctor they have medicated deodorant or antiperspirants for it

There are Rx armpit wipes he can get from his Dr.

Try botox under his arms.

Take him to a doctor. Years ago I had friend like this and it was a medical issue.

We have went through this with my daughter. We tried pretty all OTC, Lume (gave her chemical burn), her dermatologist prescribed her a wipe (very expensive, even with insurance), it worked for a bit, then stopped. We went to a specialist, they wanted to do some procedure that works like microwave waves, but it’s not covered under insurance, so you’re looking at a couple thousand out of pocket.
Our last resort was Carpe, and that has worked wonders! We’ve been going strong for 6 months now.

I swear horribly as well recently i seen this and i was going to try it out. Worth a shot

Botox will help a lot!

He needs to see a Dr

Botox of excessive sweating - insurances can cover it check with your dermatologist

Hyperhidrosis. Multiple treatment options, but a lot are expensive. Botox works miracles for people (for primary focal axillary hyperhidrosis)- but most likely will need to try other prescription medications before your insurance will cover it. Other things include Drysol (topical), Qbrexa (topical), or glycopyrrolate (oral). Botox is typically done every 3-4 months with multiple injections in each axilla.
Have him switch to a Anti Perspirant and avoid deodorants. Not many people realize - but deodorant really just deodorize. There is a more permanent solution - Miradry. It usually needs one single treatment, but can need one additional. Expensive and out of pocket around 2-3 grand.

Please have him see a dermatologist- they work wonders!

Had a friend son an this same thing her son was going through the Pharmacist told her Sweating is a natural part of puberty, a time when sweat glands become more active and the body produces more hormones. It’s also how the body cools off in response to heat, exercise or emotional distress.

Hyperhidrosis can begin as early as childhood, it often becomes worse in puberty years causing Excessive Sweating that can: Force you to change your clothes several times a day…

USE PRESCRIPTION-STRENGTH ANTIPERSPIRANT…

WEAR A SWEAT PROOF UNDERSHIRT

Stay hydrated. …
Wear breathable, loose-fitting clothing. …
Skip the caffeine.

He has hyperhydrosis if you don’t want to use pharmaceutical meds that have numerous side effects, I would suggest buying a derma dry. 500$ investment and he can be much happier and sweat free

Talk to his Dr. There’s an actual medical condition that causes that.

My extremely sweaty basketball player uses Gold Bond.

Get him wool shirts, they make sports ones that will dry super quick. And see active tees. But I agree, talking to a doctor is the best bet

I have tried thousands and I found one that helps so much its more expensive but worth at least for me. It’s called carpe you order online

I would take him to the doctor and get some suggestions.

Sweatblock wipes on amazon, or certain dry deodorant, the roll on kind, works wonders, you just have to put it on the night before

Hyperhidrosis … Talk to dr … Worst case is,they will to botox to paralyze the sweet glands

I agree that a Dr visit is in order. But for the laundry use the Tide with oxy clean and put some white vinegar in the washer as its filling.

See a dr sounds like a medical condition idk what it’s called.

I had to use Certain Dri in high school. It’s strong stuff!

Rubinol… I take it for the same thing…

Same for me, have his thyroid checked.

My husband is like this he’s low on vitamin D and it causes him to sweat alot!

Have you tried the Rexona Clinical Treatment that you can buy from supermarkets? It works provided they stay using it consistent til it runs out.Thats here in New Zealand

Have him shower and wash with baking soda. Make a paste of baking soda and a little water and have him scub his pits for 30 seconds to a minute.

I sweat bad and ruin my shirts. I started using dove spray deodorant and it actually works for me

I have a condition and doc offered meds before. It is really bad over summer like I know I stink… I use clinical strength , shower s ton ,body powder, the mefs help me produce less sweat…

I never would sweat or smell EVER!! Until I had my daughter, after that my hormones were crazy and would sweat and smell. I tried everything! After years I just tried an all natural deodorant brand called Schmidts and I haven’t been sweaty or smelled at all!!!

All natural deodorant, I get mine at Walmart

I’d take him to the doctor and bring that up. Could be anything, normal or abnormal. It can’t hurt to have that looked at

Hyperhydrosis is a medical condition that may be worth looking into. There is treatment available. Prescription deodorant and also sometimes Botox injection into the sweat glands so they stop functioning over actively. Good luck!

Take him to his doctor. Excessive sweating can be a sign of something seriously wrong. In the least the Dr may prescribe a stronger deodorant.

Please don’t take him to see a normal dr please see a dermatologist - he may need a referral from a normal dr to see one. Preferably one that specialises in hyperhidrosis also join these fb groups Hyperhidrosis Sufferers Unite💧 and Hyperhidrosis if you have any questions feel free to pm me

Botox in the armpits

Get him to a good doctor who will know how to treat your son. He deserves to get this resolved. It can ruin his teen years unless you get him proper help.

Have his thyroid checked

Go See a dermatologist. This sounds like a condition they have a name for

There nothing you are him can do I am 54 years old and if I stand still for 5 minutes you would think it was raining on me it just how his body it made I have to change clothes at work at least 4 times a day

Doctor- there is a thing treatable!

Get a prescription for Drysol. It’s the best. It saved me in high school.

Check his thyroid and some it help others it doesn’t however dr. Squatch has work wonders for my hubby brother in laws 15 yr old nephew same issues lol and I myself use it to soap and deodorant fresh falls is my favorite deodorant. My hubby will wear it to works as he’s an open fire cook and he still smells like it after work

This works amazing! You use it at night and then use regular Deodorant during the day. I use it twice a week and I haven’t sweated through my shirts in years!!

Botox! Ask your gp about options. Botox can be used to freeze some of the sweat glands. Won’t erratic it completely but makes a huge difference in my experience.

Have you tried an antiperspirant? Deodorant is to deodorize the smell but antiperspirant does that and it also prevents sweating. Maybe that is what he needs. I would look for a men’s clinical strength antiperspirant for him. I’m sure that would help ALOT.

Doctor to rule out underlying conditon.

He needs a dermatologist. Botox can be used to help but it’s short term. Sometimes hyperhydrosis requires some of the sweat glands to be surgically removed.

Certain dri is a clinical strength antiperspirant that also shrinks the pores, I used it a handful of times and was able to use any deodorant with no problems.
