First you will have to prove to Dr’s that you are not over feeding. Keep a diary of everything eaten including amounts. This will exclude you from being the possible problem and this will persuade them to run more tests and to think outside the box
Keep a food and exercise diary. Obviously she isn’t hitting a gym but write down when she plays outside or at the park. Write down what and what time she eats for 30 days.
Know, look into gluten reactions and red dye reactions. There’s studies showing gkuten reactions can lead to weight gain and other medical issues. Talk to a pediatric nutritionist and see what they advise. An obese child can end up with various health issues adults don’t get. It can effect their growth plates and brain development. It’s probably something simple so don’t over stress but started researching so you know what to ask at the next appts.
Check for diabetes.
Keep a food diary of everything she is eating, many people think they’re not eating too many calories when they really are… It all comes down to calories and plenty of healthy foods are high in calories.
Some kids just have a slower metabolism then others
As us older mom’s and nan’s
Would put it down to “baby fat”
It could be many things but the first two that came to mind is hypo thyroid or diabetes
My son is very underweight . My doctor said he needs to be fed more . Um no. I got online and researched anything that could cause a child to be very underweight. Walked into the doctor with a list , handed it to her and demanded my son be tested for it all because if something gets missed and my child is affected it won’t end well for anyone who didn’t give my son the appropriate tests. And the issue was found . If you are very concerned then take control. Go into the doctor and say what you want done and let the doctor know if they miss something you won’t let it go . You do not need to prove anything to your doctor . If you say you are not overfeeding then that’s how your daughters care needs to be addressed.
Everyone mentioning thyroid check are accurate. I’ve had an over active thyroid my whole life but only been diagnosed in the last several years. The weight gain/loss is sudden and rapid. I would definitely start there. Blood tests also for diabetes is always smart. I just lost my sister to diabetes this past December. Not something you want to leave undetected.
Has her thyroid been checked i had the same problem as a child of being overwheight certainly not due to being over fed i didnt find out until i was a adult that i have no thyroid gland and i still stuggle with my wheight now even though i am on medication for it now
Try to seek for an endocrinology consult
Keep a food journal it’s the only way .
White starches and salt could be causing it. White starches like bread and pasta are one step above pure sugar according to my Dr and salt can cause water weight.
See a specialist asap
My two year (when he was 2yrs old) was a big two year old. And he’s even a bigger 4.5 yr old now at 89lbs standing at 4.5 ft tall. Some kids are just bigger with slower metabolism lol and they ran all the tests they could and everything came back normal for my middle son.
Thyroid? Gluten allergy?
Did they check her pituitary gland for a tumor? I started gaining weight along with migraines they found a tumor on mine. It’s not fatal but can disrupt a lot of things.
My 5 yr old is 170 pounds, we had all the doctors stumped forever. He was a good weight until he hit 2 then just ballooned up. Have they checked her leptin?? Mine has 1 deficiency but I know you need both. We have him on adderall for his hunger pains and a strict diet and schedule when he can eat, we do give him treats I mean he’s 5 but 99% of the time he survives off pretzels, gold fish and crackers. If you ever want to chat, just message me!
If you really don’t keep bad foods around and you feed her properly then check in on her thyroid
I eat healthy no shit snacks and it is from hypothyroidism. I was 135 now 250
Did she have a brain scan? She needs a complete mri.
