Should you snoop through your childs things?

It’s really situational.
Like normal kid…no real concerns. Well behaved. No at risk behaviour…then nope. No snooping on my part.
Sneaking out, weird behaviours, slipping grades and always answers “everything is fine” when trying to address things…then yup. Imma snoop.:person_shrugging:
Door tho…ei…I don’t think I’d ever take that. The knob sure…but the door…Naw.
But I don’t need him hogging the bathroom as petty revenge saying he’s getting dressed since he has no door lol as he’s petty like his momma…lol
But ya…kids are mini humans and should have the respect we expect for ourselves…within limits.
Being normal…I’ll leave ya be.
Being stupid…Imma be finding out why if you won’t tell me🤷.

My son is 9 right now and any time I’m going into his room to rearrange or deep clean, I warn him. So he has time to remove anything he doesn’t want me to see. But he doesn’t move anything. Even his journal. Cuz he knows mom won’t look. But he and I have conversations constantly about things. So I don’t need to snoop to learn what’s going on with him…yet lol

Depends how old they are

No, not unless you think something is going on.

My house my rules!!! If I want to snoop I will. If there is something in that room and their afraid it may be found then they better not have it in there. It really depends on the kid. Mine doesn’t give me any reason to snoop but she knows I will If I see fit even her cell phone.

It’s your house your child so yes when my sisters and I were young 2 of us could lie to your face and we were convincing the other two couldn’t even tell the truth convincingly so if mum wanted to snoop she did but if you trust your kids you shouldn’t have to

Why not compromise and keep the door open always unless they’re getting dressed or something?
