Maybe his foot is falling asleep. It may feel “hot” to him

Maybe his feet fall asleep in certain ways he sleeps and he’s feeling the annoying tingling feeling?..

Start with the pediatrician

It could be something serious or nothing at all just get that baby to the dr!!!

like most have said go to a doctor!
for me when there’s no air circulating in a room or it’s way too hot, my feet get extremely swollen, red, and painful and the best relief for me is just making sure A/C is cranked up or fans are on

So many different answers on here. Don’t rely on fb for medical answers. More than half the people aren’t even doctors. Go see a doctor, please. Especially if it is concerning.

I’ve experienced this my whole life on and off idk what it is never asked a doctor about it. I just stick my feet in cold water like ice cold until I feel better (like a few seconds) However my husband has felt them and says they feel got to the touch.

Something similar happened to a friends son and it was Mrsa

I would take him to the pediatrician, have his blood sugar checked.
He’s could have some type of neuropathy. At least make sure nothing is going on.
You can have neuropathy from other diseases, not just diabetes.

This is something you need to talk to his doctor about.

Sounds like a nerve is being pinched. I had that I’m my thigh when I was a kid.

Maybe call the dr instead of facebook.

He may have rest less syndrome

My mom complained of hot feet she was not diabetic. Let dr. Make the call

That sounds like nerve pain. I have pinched nerves in my lower and middle back. Sometimes my legs feel like they are on fire.

Growing pains! My daughter did this for 2 weeks.

Mine started to be that way and found out I was diabetic and had neuropathy. That never heals. Take him to a doctor right away just in case so it doesn’t get worse. Good luck.

I would either suggest growing pains or possibly he is sleeping a way where his feet get tucked under him and fall asleep I hate that feeling as a grown up and could see how a little one trying to explain that tingly uncomfortable feeling as hot

Hope this helps and it’s nothing serious prayers for your family

Take him to the Dr asap

My son would get night terrors from being to hot. Try putting him to bed with less clothes or no blanket.

I still have this issue. My dad used to put lotion on my feet, that really helps!

I’m not sure, but this happens to me at times and started when I was a kid. Whenever I google it I mainly get results for “burning feet syndrome” it happens so infrequently it’s not a priority when I go to the doctor so I always forget to ask, but what he’s feeling is definitely real. It only occurs at night.

Sounds like athletes foot

They might be asleep. My son does the same thing but what he means is that his feet are tingling.

I can’t sleep with hot feet either…they feel like they’re way too hot and it makes me uncomfortable and unable to sleep. I stick one or both feet out from the covers with the air on. Maybe your boy can’t sleep because of this and cries because he may be overtired and just wants to sleep.

Take him to the doctor asap

Might be a nightmare or night terror

I would consult your pediatrician!

Reminds me of restless feet syndrome, something I had as a child and still dealing with as an adult. Maybe he doesn’t now how to explain it but restless feet syndrome is awful, uncomfortable, and would have me kicking my feet so hard in the air unable to sleep. Hope he feels better!

This sounds like it could be a child’s description of neuropathy in the feet. I would definitely talk to his pediatrician about it

Idk about hot feet but I’ve had cold feet ever since I was a kid. To this day I still have cold feet even when I sleep in a warm blanket. Only the bath seems to help

Call his doctor. It could be night terrors/nightmares

Sounds like symptoms of a diabetic

Take him to the doctor thats the best thing to do

I am type one diabetic and we watch my son closely for any signs that he may develop any diabetes connection. I would defiantly talk with his pediatrician about checking his A1C. The blood circulation may not be great to his feet for some reason. I hope you find some answers! It sounds uncomfortable for the little guy!

Could be a number of reasons from diabetic, gluten intolerance, neuropathy, even a pinch nerve. Take him to doctor and see what they say and if they can’t find anything take him to chiropractor to get adjusted Incase it’s a pinched nerve

Could it have something to do with his circulation?

I have fibromyalgia and sometimes I want to cry because my feet feel so hot.

Something going on with his feet while he’s asleep and telling you they’re hot is his best way to explain it.
Take him to the dr to explore what’s going on. And get a camera in your son’s room.

I have neuropathy and my feet are like this all the tome

There is an autoimmune condition called EM (Erythromylagia). It is inflammation of the small blood vessels in the extremities, particularly the feet. My son had flares of this for a period of time.
It can involve a burning sensation, reddening of the skin (most often feet or hands), and pain from the inflammation.
It might be worth mentioning to your doc.
There is a lot of good info online and even EM groups here on Facebook. It hope this helps the poor little guy.

im a type one diebetic when i was young my feet got hot and id put them in ice water id get him check just in case

Poor circulation would result in cold feet. I’d still see a dr to find out what else it could be.

I would check for diabetes. My mom has it and complains that her feet are hot all the time. I one point I was borderline diabetic and I had hot feet too

Could also be hand foot mouth.

Yes but my daughter had eczema on her calves

& she did this EXACT same thing

Has his glucose been checked?

Go to doctor but I remember going through that as a child. I think the call it growing pains. Warm salt baths helped.

Get him to the doctors.

Yes my daughter does the same thing. They never found anything wrong with her.

Ever since my son was little he has had a air conditioner and fan blowing on him or he can’t sleep he gets over heated even in the winter months but he might turn the fan down but not completely off and he just sleeps in shorts no shirt and he’s fine

I have sensory issues and if my feet get too hot it always wake me up and makes me so mad

My feet do this, clear up my legs and sometimes my hands. They tested for diabetes, ms, nerve test and since those were fine I now have to see a neurologist. they have no idea what’s going on, but think something is obviously going on with my nerve endings. idk if people that young can have neuropathy, but it’s worth it to bring it up to your sons pediatrician.

Bed bugs also sting and feel hot when stung…check for bites…they usually attack feet first

Night terrors , he’s growing

You need to medical advise. Don’t ignore it.

Yeast can do it burning hands and feet. I suffer from it and it really feels so hot and painful I’ve had to stand in shower

It’s been a week. Take your child to the doctor!!!

It’s a serious sign - yes children can have neuropathy and usually it is felt when they lie still - but this could be anything neurological etc but is a sign of seriousness

Yes my son use to do this. He wouldn’t wake up screaming but he would be pretty bothered by it and telling me his feet are hot and he can’t stop moving & kicking them, I would always put a wet cloth on his feet and it would start to settle pretty much straight away. I thought it may have been some type of restless leg syndrome :woman_shrugging:t2: it would only happen once in a blue moon and hasn’t for a while now.

This happens to me and I’m almost 30, I’ve never seen a Dr regarding it but it only happens once every couple months now but I find cold/wet cloths over both feet help me

Restless leg syndrome does this to me. Some people feel pins and needles some feel burning. Definitely do not ignore this. Seek help.

Take your wee one to the Doctor. No one should suffer as long as he has with this.

I’d be getting him tested for rheumatic fever…… just a suggestion. My mother had it as a child and all us kids were tested for it but it can skip generations so yeah

PLEASE call your physician and get him checked. This can be many things including some sort of nerve damage. Do not wait any longer!
I hope all goes well.

Maybe he just gets hot in his sleep. Could be simple and you’re overthinking it.

Sounds like neuropathy and/or fibromyalgia. Sometimes can feel like you have a sunburn when nothing their. So frustrating to talk about an invisible illness/condition. Talk to his doctor.

I would take him to the doctor, there are so many uncommon conditions out there. Better be safe than sorry😉

My son used to scream about his feet, and it used to wake him up to, we thought it may have been pins and needles x

I have to be under a cover… Feet too. I put a small pillow under my feet with cool sense pillow case or a higher thread count pillow case cause it’ll be cool when I adjust my feet.

I would take him to the pediatrician to check and if it’s nothing that’s good. But then the have lots of stand up fans to cool them off. My kids both have them in here room. They can’t sleep without them. And they have a remote so he can turn it on himself.

Maybe restless leg syndrome?

Nerve pain in the feet can have a lot of causes. It could be diabetes, low or high blood pressure, misfiring nerves, or just a weird growth spurt side affect. I’d ask your pedi look into it just to be safe.

Restless legs it sounds like…magnesium before bed works like a hot damn for me

Your feet are a major spot to dissapate heat from, my feet get really hot at night too and I have to stick them out of my covers until I cool down and then I’m fine.

I get hot when I’m sleeping a lot but not if I stick my feet out from under the covers. Does he sleep with anything on his feet like socks? There was a time I couldn’t because it was just to hot. Fans help some but I also have my air set to like 70 or below when I go to sleep.

Get him checked for type 1 diabetes.

Get him a fan and see if that works.

My mom has a sweating problem. She doesn’t sweat so she overheats easily. Is he sweating?

You can find fans on Amazon that fit the foot of a bed and go under blankets to keep your feet and legs cool. I can not sleep with anything covering my feet and I always have the window open and ceiling fan on.

Maybe growing pains or cramps and he doesn’t know how to describe the pain

I would see a doctor before it progresses. Possibly a Specialist for neuropathy.

Definitely see a doctor. I had this when I was little and it was horrible. Used to wrap my feet in wet towels to go to sleep. Never figured out the cause.

I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor. It could be any number of potential internal causes. Sometimes nerves under the skin can cause a warm/hot sensation without physically feeling warm. Or it could also be nothing to worry about. Either way it’s best to get it seen to for both yourself and your son’s piece of mind.

Itl be to do with the nerves, I get burning feet at night, I normally put some cold moisturiser on them and give them a good massage to get the blood moving and then it goes off after a couple of minutes, I used to put them in cold water to stop them from burning, however I’ve been told its best to put them in like warm water, but moisturiser and a massage normally does the trick after a couple minutes, but I would advise to see the doctor as he may have some nerve damage

Bring him to a doctor , that’s not normal. I used to suffer with something similar called chillblains but my feet and legs would turn a purple colour but it would feel like burning like sunburn

Might be the nervous system

My children suffered these symptoms. Took them both to their pediatrician and turned out to be growing pains. You can have pain and what seems to be “hotness” or a burning sensation anywhere where their bones are growing at a rapid rate. Nighttime is mostly when they feel it because it’s when the growing spurt happens. Warm epsom feet soaking and Motrin helped.

I’d take him to the doctor. Sounds like bad circulation and he’s probably getting pins and needles feeling. Which can be quite painful. Hope you find answers!
