What are your thoughts on the flu vaccine this year?

Moms, what are your thoughts about the flu vaccine this year? Is it really necessary to give me 3 years old? She is always sick when she gets it in the past?

The few times we have gotten them we end up with that mess for weeks.

Refuse to give it to my kids or get it. Makes us very sick. Worse than the flu.

Never and will never

I get sick from the shot deathly got year after year and it kept happening. As soon as I get the shot the next morning I’m fukd…every damn time… anybody else?

Always get the flu shot. If you get sick after, it just means you were exposed to the flu before you got the shot. Just because you get the flu shot, doesn’t mean you will never get the flu, it means you will get a lighter version of the flu you caught.

I always get really sick after i get the flu shot . I tried three times and never again

I get it🤷‍♀️nothing wrong with me. I get sick but never to the point it bothers me.

My whole family get it and it’s always been fine for us

Always as do 3/4 children. One has an egg allergy so he does not recieve it. I work in heathcare and know how beneficial it is. Absolutely everyone who can, should. 60% effectiveness is significantly better than zero.

My kids r grown now but when they were younger and it was available under my insurance yes they got the shot and so did i. Never had any adverse issues with the shot and they never got seriously sick

I don’t know how you’re getting ill from the flu vaccine as it’s not a live vaccine?

Never have and never will.

Same as always…uh uhh…not me

Any time me or my kids have gotten the shot, we get extremely sick within a few days and it last for a while. When we dont get the shot, some times we get sick for about a day if that. I definitely do not recommend the shot.

The flu shot covers you from getting influenza not the common cold. :woman_facepalming:t2:

Never get them never will

Don’t know why we are being told that it’s ridiculous to say we can’t get the flu from the flu vaccine , when evidence proves otherwise ! I know so many people that became very sick after it ! I had the flu around 25 years ago, never had the shot ever! Or the flu again . Yes I do know I won’t get away with it forever, one day I will get it again because my immune system needs it .

Its not the shot. Its lowers your immune system when you get it for like a week so their getting sick from basic germs. Not the shot. My kids get one every year.

So you keep giving it to her? :woman_facepalming:

I personally get sick every. single. time. I get the flu shot. ( I have to get it due to working in healthcare ) my children are all up to date with vaccinations but never got the actual flu shot itself. & my kids are legit never ever sick !!!

It lessens symptoms/duration even if she does get the flu. With the isolation most of us have experienced with Covid they’re predicting a worse “sick season”. The flu can also hospitalize children (or worse). I’d highly recommend it!

We don’t do the flu shot so my son won’t get it either.

Nope. We always skip it.

We do every year. Ive only gotten sick once and it was my first one.
And learning about the flu, its super scary what can happen too.

I will never ever skip the flu shot. Now we will never get the nasal version as that makes me sick every single time but always get the shot.

I’ve never given it to my kids and never taken it myself.

I get horribly sick every time I get the shot. I haven’t had it in about 6 years now and haven’t gotten it since.

No don’t do it. They come out with new flu shots every year and that leaves no time for trials on how it will effect you ten years from now

Nope we don’t get it and we don’t get the flu🤷🏼‍♀️ coincidence I don’t know

My son is going on 2 this month and he never get the flu shot his dad and I don’t

The flu shot only covers last yrs strain not the strain going around. I never get the shot and neither do my kids. We have dealt with flu 1x in 3 yrs.

Talk to your doctor. Everyone is going to have different opinions, about half are going to tell you to get it and the other half are going to say absolutely not.

You aren’t going to get a definite answer here. Talk to your doctor, get an educated opinion, and then come to the conclusion on what you think is best for your child.

My daughter has always gotten the flu vaccine and he’s never been sick from it, when I was a teenager I stopped getting it and was fine but up until that I always got it also and never had an issue same with all my brothers
As an adult now I’ve only gotten it when I was pregnant

It’s a no for me. The only time I’ve ever had the flu shot is when I’m pregnant and I was so poorly. I won’t be signing up for my 3yo to have it.

Common sense would say NO

We get it but I’m an RN so I try to prevent from giving it to anyone in my family.

Never have never will. Not for me or my kids

I am all about getting vaccines for my kids EXCEPT the flu. I just don’t feel that its effective enough. Plus I don’t tend to do well with the flu shot.

We always get/give our young ones flu shot. My friends gets the fly shot with no eggs

My son will get it and so will I. The flu is awful so if there is a chance this may help prevent it I will do it.

My son had it for the 1st time last year and we have never seen him so ill. He won’t be getting it again xx

We never get the flu shot for that reason, and we haven’t gotten the flu without getting one. I honestly believe that’s what gives most people the flu

everone i know that gets flu shot gets sick

If she gets sick every time she gets it, that would a no. We don’t vaccinate as is, and my kids rarely get sick. But if we did and they got sick every time that would be a easy answer

Absolutely get the flu shot

I don’t give the flu vaccine to my kids but they’re young enough I can keep them home and away from people during the brunt of flu season.

Due to medical issues that several of my kids have and one working in healthcare, I choose for our family to get the flu shot. While it might not prevent it, we’ve never had an adverse reaction to it. It’s honestly up to each individual what to do. Discuss with your doctor and made an informed decision.

I get sick with the shot, but not nearly as sick as I do if I don’t get the shot. I’d rather be sick for a day or two with the shot than in the hospital. Every year if I don’t get the shot then I get the flu and end up in the hospital.

I’ll get it and so will my son.

Talk to her doctor maybe he will forego the shot this year.!

I do not take them. I get sicker with them than I do when I take them.

None of us get the flu shot ever.

Never had it never get sick. My kids have never had it and are never sick.
Everyone that gets it gets the flu.

We all always get it… 3, 11 and my husband and I… it’s not worth the risk not to

I was sicker after getting a flu shot than I was with the actual flu. So, my kids have never gotten a flu shot. They haven’t had any vaccinations. And they are very healthy, the few times they have been sick it only lasted a day or 2.
If your child is getting sick every time you have her get that shot, STOP having her get that shot. It’s obvious that it’s doing more harm than good.

My whole family gets the flu shot every year, no ones ever got sick. Maybe a bit of a fever the first day but thats all.

I get the flu shot every year and only have gotten sick once with flu.

We don’t do shots anymore; more or less because my daughter had a severe allergic reaction twice. We live in a mountain town and my children are homeschooled. So that’s what works for us. I have to agree with everyone else on here you have to do what is best for you and your children along with their environment.

Eat healthy you own immune system will do the rest no one needs that poison pumped into them ESPECIALLY innocent children, look up what’s in it absolutely horrific.

I get the flu shot every year

i have gotten the flu shot one time in my life, and i have only had the flu one time.

No need to inject poison into your kid.

Never got it before, won’t be getting it now. Neither myself or hubby get it, and our kids won’t be getting it either.

Just get an immune booster at Dischem for your child ! Dont give flu shot ! The injection has the flu virus in it so thats whats making ur child sick! You will notice when ever they give the vaccine the child will get a fever! Thats because of the vaccine! I put my daughter on an immune booster and thank god her health is great! When she started school she was always getting sick she was in and out of hospital! Since i put her on an immune booster she improved in her health!

We don’t do flu shots. We dont have any issues when we turn it down either

It’s a no from me for myself and my 1 year old. I have always gotten sick from it.

We have flu vaccine every year.

The more ppl who dont get it, the less effective it is which doesnt help the most vulnerable
The flu doesn’t give you the flu its supposed to activate an immune response so dont even come at me with: It MaKeS pPl SiCk

Definitely getting one this year. Before we never used to until my son’s school because over run with it. He caught the flu and I got it a short time after. Not taking that chance again

I always get it for myself and my children, never makes us sick and thankfully we havent had the flu in years.

My granddaughters get the flu mist. I nevet get a flu shot and never had the flu

I’ve never gotten a flu shot & neither have my three kiddos… ever…

My son has never gotten the flu shot and he will continue to not getting it… My husband and I don’t get it either

You do whatever you feel is best, but I’ve always gotten the flu with the shot so I’ve chosen to not get it anymore and my now 3 year old has never had the shot either.

We missed them one year and got the flu. I know I can get the flu even with a shot though. However, we (husband, daughter and myself) get them yearly.

Get her a flu shot, please

I always get one. I have 4 adult kids who never get one and never seem to get sick.

The flu shot cannot give you the flu. It is an inactive virus that is injected, so your body is able to recognize it. So it’s impossible to get the flu from the flu shot. However, some people may have an allergic response to it. The nasal spray often given to kids is a very mildly active live virus, so there is a slight potential of getting sick afterwards. So for me, I have always had my kids get the flu shot rather than the nasal spray and they have been just fine!

We don’t get it . We also dont get flu. I used to get it and got sick a lot.

I always get the flu shot to protect my family from being sick and also people who can’t vaccinate and those who can’t fight the flu off.

I’m 26 and I’ve never had the flu and I get vaccinated every year. Same with my kids. It’s not 100% affective against all strains, but it’s also just not about you.

Flu wouldn’t kill 20 to 80 000 people a year if majority of us get vaccinated and this is why Covid slammed us :joy:

Get the vaccine to protect everyone and your self!!!

The thing about the flu vaccine is that the strain is developed about 5 years before the vaccine is actually given, and the strain present that year may or may not be the same. It definitely lessens your chances of getting it just because the general makeup of the virus stays the same and it is able to build some antibodies. Those that still get the flu after receiving the vaccine probably just contracted a different strain, and the it usually hits a lot less hard than if no vaccine were given.

ive never gotten the flu shot before maybe only had flu once in my life. and my middle daughter had flu shot once when a baby never again but my kids do get there other shots .

We don’t get it. Not only does it make me and my 2 girls extremely sick, it does for months And sick more regulary. Once I stopped taking it and my kids 8 years ago I haven’t been sick since and my girls only a few times but never the flu.

My family does not get the flu shot, ever.

I’ve never gotten one and I don’t believe I’ve ever had the flu either.

I’ve been getting it for many years and have had no problems.

We never usually get the flu shot. Both of my kids got the flu in February and they were so sick for a week and bad enough I was worried. On the other hand, my uncle got guillian barre syndrome from the flu shot and became paralyzed from the neck down for 5 months. That of course is a rare side effect but seeing it first hand scared me. We’re homeschooling this year and may choose not to get it but not sure yet.

Never had the flu shot and never had the flu. Won’t be getting one this year either.

Flu shots contain aluminum, preservatives, formaldehyde and antibiotics, albeit in very small amounts. That being said, the dose is not tittered for very small bodies so little people receive the same amount as full-grown adults. I would be uncomfortable with those facts, and as such did not vaccinate my child for the flu.

The flu vaccine isn’t a live virus. It doesn’t give you the flu. If you do run a mild temp or exhibit other symptoms, that’s just your way of developing an immunological response to the vaccine. Just like babies develop mild fevers with their childhood vaccines. Please get vaccinated if you can and that’s your belief. We see way too many sick kids that could have easily been prevented!

Iv never given my daughter the flu shot. Your body becomes immune naturally. She’s gotten the flu but fought it off super quick.

No way never have never will

We get ours every year but I’m around elderly people now and have an immune compromised kid

Nope. I dont get it and I dont have my kid get it.

What?!:woman_facepalming:t2: should I make my child sick AGAIN on purpose guys? :woman_facepalming:t2: FOR REAL???
