Why do you think the baby is constipated?

An old woman that lived next to us told momma to use 1/2 teaspoon to full 8 oz warm milk. Acts like laxative but gentle for baby. The movement of the legs helps activate the rectal muscles.
A pediatrician had my sister in law add a little.karo syrup to help.her baby.
What formula? Try changing?

Warm jello water or warm water with karo syrup just a small amount since their so young
Before you give your baby Miralax or suppositories I would call the pediatrician

Oh tummy problems are roughā:broken_heart:I did dark Karo syrup in the bottles, bicycle kicks and sat on the edge of a chair, put a pillow on my legs, and alternated moving each of my knees up and down with baby on pillow, belly down to work out bubbles in their tummy it was the only thing that would soothe her some nights. We also switched to nutramigin (not sure of the spelling) for formula. Good luck mamaā:heart:

Prune juice and kayro syrup helped mine or his formula may need changing

Peppermint water might do it but light on the peppermint

Go to your doctor. Just because something works for one baby doesnt mean itās right your baby. It would be terrible for you to lose your 1 week old baby due to Facebook doctors.

Call your doctor that young. None of us here know anything else about your childās health which could lead to harmful information.
That young the doctor will usually want you to come in also.

More information is needed. Call your pediatrician and they will appropriately offer advice. I will say newborns and infants can go several days without a bowel movement.

Contact your pediatrician for advice. I breast fed mine at that age so Iām not sure about constipation in a new born on formula but I wouldnāt think itās normal. Maybe it needs more liquid mixed in or heās having difficulty digesting it. Your doctor will give you the best advice.
When my son was a newborn and he was constapated the doctor told me to put Cato syrup in his bottle. True! Also they changed his formula for a soy formula so that it wouldnāt cause gas! Good luck!
If their bottle fed Iād suggest seeing the pediatrician to change up their formula. Mine had that issue as a young baby too. He struggles with it again as a teenager. In our case itās genetic too though.

The windi !!! Search up on amazon. Itās amazing for constipation AND gas! Itās weird but I swore by it for the first month or two! Heās 4 months old now and doesnāt have any problems since we were able to give him juice and now that helps him go !
Unfortunately formula tends to make babies constipated the only safe thing to do would be to take a thermometer dip the tip in vaseline and take the babies temperature if the constipation continues I would talk to your doctor before trying any thing else
Switch formulas and they say get baby suppositories but dont use them just put it a little in to stimulate and help the little one. Worked for me!

Get a new doctor if they dont address the issue. My son has been chronically constipated for 2 years and they dont give a shit. I referred him a GI specialist. All he said was use mirilax. Refused to do a scanning per my request. Changed his diet and foods. Give him the extra fiber foods. Gave him medication for it. Ot a damn thing

I had been having problems with my boyfriend and we had been together with him for over 6 years now, I do love this man a lot and i wanted to get married to him but times I did feel a little confused about this and had wondered if he had been true to the relationshipā¦until I found Mama Anna +27655539393. Bicycle legs technique is a good way to help
Put a little dark karo syrup in his bottle a couple times a day. I am sure i will get yelled at for that one but it works. My mom told me about it and i used it with my kids. It works really well

Mommy I suffered that with both my boys 
so I would suggest for instant relief until you get to the doctorā¦ I suggest prune juice with a bit of water to dilute it ā¦ even in the babies formula depending on how the baby responds to the prune juice. Then immediately take the baby to get evaluated to make sure he/she is not allergic to āmilk proteinā which is more common than you think. Most babies are not even lactose intolerantā¦they are just allergic to the protein. I really hope this helpsā¦ I sooo been there done that!!
It takes a week b4 the doctors really consider your baby constipated, and you say your baby is only a week oldā¦ how many days we talking here? Itās normal for a baby to go days.
You can massage his tummy in a clockwise motion and rub the middle of his foot close to the inside of the foot

Iāve had 3 babies and they all suffer with constipation since birth. With my last one, I was having to give enemas so he could get it out and he felt so much better. But you donāt want to rely on enemas for them to poop. At 3 months his doctor put him on lactulose. & now he poops regularly. My older two was doing miralax at 3 months old. But for my 3rd, his doctor put him on lactulose every day and it has regulated him

My baby was constipated from the formula she was on after she was born, I changed it within the first week and she was able to poop. Plus my breastmilk kicked in so I was giving her that plus formula since I wasnt producing enough milk. The formula your babys on right now could be too rich for his little belly.
Prune Juice. Take a little bit water it down some and give it to your LO. My daughter did this all the time when she was younger. You can also use Light Kyro syrup in their formula (teaspoon every 4 ozs) but the prune juice works best when they are already constipated.

Take a thermometer and lubricate the tip as if you going to take his temp. Move in small circular motion and it will make him poop. They taught me this in the nicu when my twins were preemies. And crazy enough it works.

Talk with your pediatrician. Sometimes itās the iron in formula. They may change baby s formula. My babies drank soy milk as an example.
My son had this problem. I started boiling water, adding karo syrup and giving it to him warm. Granted this was almost 30 years ago but it worked.
Cut a sliver of glycerine soap off and give the baby a suppository rectally. Or put a teaspoon of prune juice in with formula
