What can I give my toddler in place of cow's milk?

Lactose free? Try that

Almond milk, soy milk, goats milk

Put some karo syrup in her. Milk. It will help

Have you tried pediasure

Stop giving the milk.

Soy Milk … Silk brand.

Soy milk. Almond milk

My oldest daughter is lactose intolerant she has the lactaid milk it works great for her she’s drank it since she was one. My you heat son on the other hand can’t handle milk at all he has almond milk unsweetened with Vanilla it’s the only one he’ll drink. Also might watch her soy intake? It’s in EVERYTHING and I know I have a kiddo the soy constapated

Water? I’m confused.

When switching to almond or soy milk, it’s going to take time for her to adjust to it flavor wise.
Just keep giving it to her and she’ll get used to it.

You can try goats milk

My son is 6 turning 7 and this is our favorite. We’re not lactose or anything. We use the chocolate for ‘milkshakes’ as he calls them and the vanilla for cereal in the morning. I noticed he was gaining so much weight and with this simple switch I’ve noticed a huge difference. No more constipation tummy aches. No more ‘no poop days’. Hope this helps :two_hearts:

I have this to my middle child she was allergic to cows milk eventually grew out of it

I’m not sure where you are located but I buy this lactose free milk for my daughter and she does way better with it

There used to be a toddler formula- but my girls are way past that stage, this looks similar to what we used- easier to digest.

I had the same exact issue and this has been working great! I buy it at Walmart.

Give her gummy fibers they are life savers my daughter AND grandson had this same problem and Gummy Fibers for the win!

When formula was made from evaporated milk years ago, Karo syrup was added to prevent constipation.

My baby was severally lactose intolerant, we did lactaid

Iveseen alot of parents use this, I don’t know a whole lot about it but figured it might work

Have you tried goat milk?

Cows milk is for cows (technically). Dont bother with any kind of milk. Will she take a calcium vitamin? Maybe a gummy? There is absolutely no reason humans NEED cows milk.

Is she maybe lactose intolerant? My daughter is but she also has an underlying bowel problem. The milk caused it to be 100 times worse. You maybe need to switch her to lactose free milk. Tastes different though so may need to get used to it. It took my daughter several weeks before she would drink a full glass

My daughter has a milk allergy. She always have had one. I fed her soy milk for a little while but stopped because of the sugar content. I stooped giving her milk and just made sure she was receiving proper nutrients from other sources, mainly fruits and veggies. Her doctor never saw the need to put her on any type of supplements.

My son didnt like milk, we Gave him Nido the 1+ Red can, at almost 2 its still all he likes. My daughter also doesnt like milk, she gets pediasure 2x a day.
They make a pediasure with added Fiber.
I buy the parents choice brand its cheaper with same stuff.

We tried everything, the only thing my daughter can handle is Oat Milk. Soy milk is not recommended for several reasons. If you chose soy, just do a little research on it; it’s naturally high in estrogen and is not good for us in large quantities.

Try lactaid. Lactose free. Tastes just like regular milk but super easy on digestion and constipation

Can you try a lactose free milk? We like A2 and fairlife whole milk. Taste great and easier on the stomache.

Both my children suffered from painful constipation when going from formula to cow’s milk I cut the formula with cow’s milf 1 oz at a time over a few weeks That seemed to help

Put Miralax in whatever she drinks daily, it is a natural constipation solution🙂
Google it and how it works.
It is not a one time thing, it is an everyday additive and over the counter product.

Neither one of my kids liked milk, and I didn’t even try to make them drink it. If they’re eating good, then there is no need for it. My girls are 14 and 8 and have never had a problem caused from not drinking milk.

Have you tried lactose free milk? It’s worked for my family.

Have you tried lactose milk? My kids are all lactose. Can’t drink regular cows milk. There’s also other forms of milk out there then generic cows milk.

I gave my girls 2% and it helped the constipation issues

My daughter was allergic to milk so they had me give her goat’s milk with poly VI Sol vitamins and kayro syrup.

Try lactose-free milk helped my girls

She needs plenty of water!, fruits like orange will help, also give her 1 teaspoon Karo syrup

Lactaid 1% my daughter has the same issue. The lactaid helps a lot.

I do not know where you are located but HEB grocery stores have MOOTOPIA, its a lactose free milk. The vanilla kind tastes like melted soft serve ice cream and the chocolate is even better. My kids LOVE it, I cant keep it in the house.

You should ask for a referral to a pediatric gastro. My son had the same problem. He switched him to Lactaid for milk. Once a day a zippy cup of 1/2 water and 1/2 prune juice.

any lactose free milk – my daughter went through the same thing – we switched her to LF products and she outgrew it – now she drinks lots and lots of milk.

What about goats milk.

I used rice dream for my allergic son. Any dairy gave him severe diarrhea. But constipation can be normal for milk products. I say limit them. Use a little miralax everyday to keep her regular. But there are supplements. A child does not NEED milk. My son was just fine without it

Try goats milk. Fruit such as peaches, mashed up plums, and juices help regulate bowel movements and soften them up.
Does she have a fissure (crack) in the rectum? Have her checked out by another MD. As a retired nurse I majored in abnormal psychology and it was interesting to note that when little ones start going to the potty they experience a fear that part of them is coming out with their bowel movements. It actually causes kids to hold their bowel movements for as long as they can so they don’t have to feel so afraid so often. I gave soy milk in place of cows milk. Mulley actually had a better flavor.
Years ago my mom had to make my formula with carnations milk, a can of water and 2 tablespoons Kato syrup. It’s interesting the kind of formulas kids got years ago. Do not make this formula. I am only comparing the difference in baby formulas. If baby I s having such a problem then by all means get another opinion.

We had to use Lactaid for my son. Had the same issue, even with formula. He couldnt digest the proteins. Lactaid seemed to do the trick though!

If she holding her poop in she’s not constipated. She needs milk for her bones.

Most kids don’t like regular milk try Pea milk, almond or cashew milk (if not tree but allergies) or something vegan she might like that

You could also try giving her some probiotics and/or fiber. They have it in liquid or gummies for kids. Also, if she holds it a lot, she could have encopresis.

Because my daughter has an allergy to dairy and soy, when she was younger, we gave her Rice Milk, Goat Milk, and Almond Milk…she’s 16 now and doing great.

She’s one, give her the formula if that’s what she wants.

My son is allergic to cows milk(not lactose, the milk itself, lactose gets added at the milk plant).
We use goats milk (Walmart sells it by the quart in a purple package). We have also tried, hemp, oat, almond, soy and coconut milks. Seems he prefers coconut, hemp, and oat better.

You might try goat’s milk? I would think about pureed prunes added to applesauce, it’s a natural laxative. See if that helps her tummy.

Try almond milk :milk_glass: it’s totally different from regular dairy milk

You could also but a little Karo syrup in the milk also that’s helps with constipation my daughter had colic and belly problems and we had to put it in every bottle of milk she got

My daughter has a cows milk allergy. Since she was born. She had to use a spy based milk or a nut milk. She is now 18 months and still takes soy milk. She hasn’t had any problems since switching. It took us four different doctors till they finally got it right. Sounds like you need a new pediatrician.

Honestly see no issue in your little one on formula forget what the health Vistor says as she’s not dealing with the pain and heartache you and your beautiful baby are going through xx

I see where you write you’ve tried plant based milks… try Lactaid.

My daughter couldn’t do cows milk either and we just replaced it with rice milk. The cases from Costco made it easy

Try almond milk soy milk or even 2% would be better

I am lactose intolerant. The only one I found that tastes close is horizon organic lactose free.

Lactaid it tastes like regular milk but doesn’t have lactose which causes constipation. But also try not to give her a lot. Cut back on all dairy. It could be as simple as she’s just having to much

I give my little one soy milk and coconut milk that lightly flavored with vanilla… She still gets all the vitamins she needs, and it’s non offensive to her tummy… She is a Lil on the heavier side so the lower calories is a plus too

My baby will only drink the vanilla almond milk nothing elsw

Lactaid is what we have to give my son.

Lactaid milk? It’s 100% lactose free

Both my kids are on lactaid milk

Same issue here! My son is 14 months and I have been slowly weaning down his Soy Formula with soy milk. I started off doing 4 oz formula, 1 oz soy milk, and slowly lowering the amount of formula. It’s working! He wouldn’t drink soy milk by itself but this way he doesn’t notice it. His pediatrician recommended also doing the same thing with whole milk (or lactose free whole milk) too so he gets used to both soy milk and regular milk (turns out his lactose sensitivity is getting better as he gets older). Just make sure if you use soy milk that it’s fortified with calcium and vitamin D. Hope this helps!

Lactose free milk. We had to use this for my youngest until just recently. He’s 5 now and can drink regular milk no problems

My daughter is the same since she was 6 months… She is now 19 months and i don’t know what to do. The pediatrician doesnt do much to help other than give her laxatives.

Almond milk is what I used when I found out my daughter was allergic to dairy she was barely a year old… we still use it to this day
