What could cause me to hear a pulse in my ear?

I’m five months pp and ever since my baby was a month old, I started feeling a pulse in my right ear doctors can’t seem to know what it could be other than maybe allergies! My question is has any other mommies dealt with this or have felt this pulse in the ear …it’s not all day that I feel it, but I feel it throughout the day for periods of a minute or so

High blood pressure usually, I once heard a squeak in my ear every time I laid down. It eventually went away but not without some concern about it prior to the noise stopping. At first it sounded like water dripping then squeaking, so it evolved and then poof gone.

Literally all the time randomly. Its weird. Esp happens after I sneeze (I have sneeze attacks and sneeze about 7 times in a row)

Was this Facebook page sold to someone who has no desire to post anything regarding nails???

Thyroid hypo or maybe hyper

It’s also commonly associated with post partum anxiety or psychosis

I wonder if it has something to do with breast feeding and more blood flow?

Pulsatile tinnitus, I had it for a few months while I was pregnant. Sooo annoying!

Happens to me all the time!!! Glad I’m not the only one!!!

I’ve had it for years. Doc said a form of tinnitus. I also get high pitched ringing. Not painful, just irritating.

You might want to check your blood pressure at that time. When I don’t take my pill and mine gets high same thing happens to me.

What it’s like reading these post…

Yes I’ve had it for years. If I bend over or lay a certain way I hear a pulse in one ear. I have Ringing In my ears too. It’s super fun

It sounds like anxiety. If you have a lot on your plate, stress and anxiety can manifest in some pretty strange physical symptoms (coming from someone who has anxiety my entire life).

I feel it to out of no where too

Sounds like high blood pressure. When mine is up I feel my heartbeat in my ears

Yes, high blood pressure.

I remember that problem, they said it might be from all the pushing… I also couldn’t hear at all out of one of my ears but it eventually went away

I’m way past the being pregnant stage but I get it occasionally also I think it’s blood pressure

A retracted eardrum causes the pulse, fluttering and clicking noises. Related to allergies, treated with a nasal spray.

Could be something like pulsatile tinnitus

You should see a doctor. I know someone that at an MRI and they found where blood vessels were attached to an artery behind the ear in the brain. It stops the blow flow. Please see a doctor ASAP

Ive been doing the same for about 3 months. Then a couple weeks ago my hearing decreased some in that ear. Dr sent me to cardiologist and found no reason for it, next week i see the audiologist and ent. I do not have allergies. Im too old to be pregnant. Its very annoying and keeps me awake sometimes.

I had that and a hair was rubbing against my eardrum causing the pulsating sensation. Dr flushed my ear and got rid of the hair, no pulsating sensation.

Yeah, it’s high BP for me, or I’m particularly swollen.

See an ENT doctor! They’ll figure it out for you!

I always have high bp and my ear does that a lot

It could also be anemia. I couldn’t figure it out either. My blood pressure was always fine. When my doc put me on an iron pill for anemia it went away completely.

Have your dr put his stethoscope to both your right and left side of your neck where your jugular veins are. See if he hears it. Trust me.

Take a good vitamin daily

When I started hearing pluse in my ear. It was brain aneurysm. Getting ready to burst. Definitely get second opinion. With testing.

I can hear it in my left ear. My blood pressure is not high

Apparently it’s normal in lots of people :woman_facepalming: mine comes and goes mostly worse at night obviously because it’s quite… they gave me nose spray lol

When this happened to me recently it was because my ear was clogged from a sinus infection. First thing my doc said was “plugged ear”

Ears probably blocked. Happens me and get my ears syringed usually goes away.

I hear it at night when I go to bed

Mine was pulsatile tinnitus due to high blood pressure…

If its constant its high blood pressure, if its intermittent like when you stand up from a seated position its orthostatic hypo tension…bp drops and your heart beats harder/faster to accommodate

It could be anything from high blood pressure, tinnitus, hearing loss or clogged arteries… I’ve had the same thing happening for awhile… my doctor told me to keep a diary of when its happening for a follow up. Keep off Google freaked me right out lol.

I get it from allergies that cause pressure in my ears.

I get it under high periods of stress or exhaustion

Hearing a slight pulse is normal though with anxiety. That is your head and brain.

Sone people are more aware of functions without any disorder.

When my BP gets high I can hear mine too. I’m not sure how a doctor wouldn’t have ever heard of this…lol that’s crazy to me. I’ve had this issue since my first pregnancy when I got above 200 lbs. Not that weight has anything to do with it but that’s when my I started noticing I could hear it because my BP would get higher.

Mine started when I was pregnant with my middle. It was loud and obnoxious and I asked my doctor about it, felt stupid when she repeated my question back to me “how can I stop hearing my heartbeat in my ear”…:joy::joy: I just let it be :woman_shrugging:t3:

Mine was from high blood pressure

This isn’t the place to look for answers. Get a referral to an Internal medicine specialist, ear nose and throat specialist or neurologist or all of them

If you have high blood pressure have your carotid checked, I have high blood pressure and can hear my pulse in my right ear. The cartoid on the right side of my neck is :100: percentage blocked, the left is 55/60 percent blocked. I had been hearing my pulse for years in my right ear.

Could be thyroid, mines does that when I forget to take my thyroid medicine.

Look at symptoms for Candida yeast infection which can originate in your gut. I had that as one on my symptoms

I had it once really loud when under extreme stress, wasn’t close to a birth though

Dehydrated try drinking more water I get a sound like my brain is a sponge trying to get water

I’m well past child bearing, and I get it from time to time not often I have often wondered about it, but never figured it out, but I rub it firmly away, and it doesn’t come again for a while.

Change in Barometric pressure causes mine

If you want to make this into a mommy’s healthcare site, please do so. BUT. Change the page name to reflect what’s going on. This has nothing to do with “lies and cheating” anymore!

I had something similar it was my whole head could last few minutes or hours. It was my contraception

Folic acid levels low

I used to feel this. A few years ago, i thought and feel I just have water in my right ear. But it won’t disappear no matter what I do. Then when I walk or talk, it feels like I’m hearing my footsteps/voice aloud, pulse or heartbeat or drum beat, especially when lying down. Then it just disappeared. Then had it again, on and off after I gave birth. They didn’t see anything wrong with my ear (only did audio test). But I don’t feel/hear it anymore. Just disappeared on it’s own.

You’re evolving higher consciousness

Not a place to seek medical attention. A problem with your ear, even if it’s just a pulse, could be many different things that dont even have anything to do with your ear.

With lots of hearing problems since a kid… it could honestly be anything. Mostly it’s harmless and you don’t need medical attention unless it affects balance, vision, etc or causes pain.

Mine comes with high blood pressure

Is it like you can hear a heartbeat in your ear?

Wait… Completely serious… Is that not normal?
That happens to me a lot. Has all my life.
I do have bad allergies though, so they may be onto something like that

This happens to me when I am going through one of my pots episodes or having high anxiety. My blood pressure drops and my heart rate skyrockets. I would tell your doctor about it and see what they suggest. Do you get dizzy or light headed

My ears do that if I start to get an ear infection. I get them really bad during allergy season.

Is it a side effect from an epidural?

Blood pressure. It’s usually an increase. When it happens, try to relax for a few minutes. Make sure your hydrated & try to avoid caffeine & processed junk. Light exercises can also help. :purple_heart:

I have this too and doctors have no idea how or why i can hear my pulse in my left ear

I would’ve guessed BP as well but since your dr don’t seem to think so I would suggest following up with an ENT could be fluid issues in your inner ear maybe.

Mine was the whole time I was pregnant. Shit kept me up at night.

Yes, it happened to me for months while pregnant! My ears would also feel clogged and I could barely hear anything… It went away on my third trimester though

It’s congestion. I had it with my 3rd drove me nuts! Try benedryl.

Maybe a form of Tinnitus. I would talk to your regular physician or get a referral to an ENT.

I’ve had ear trouble all my life. I did think at one time it could be allergies. I’ve developed sinus issues since my kids( probably have had sinus trouble before them) my right ear would feel like it was filling up with fluid, ring, can hear my heartbeat on that side.
When my ear hurt on that side I was also feeling like my jaw was achy too. And sometimes my throat. In 2014 I felt a lump on my right side of my neck. It was swollen and itchy. Never had it looked at but I took sinus meds and that lump went away. My point I’m getting at lol is maybe you should just get it checked. It could be a range of many things why you can hear your heartbeat. Like some of the comments I saw that blood pressure could be it, or your eating alot more foods or drinks a high sodium content. Or it could be your teeth! Pregnancy really does a toll on your body and teeth!!

My kid is 10. This started happening to me about a year ago. Stopped a few months ago… no idea why it started or Stopped :woman_shrugging:

I had this but along side headaches and some blurred vision. I was diagnosed with inter cranial hypertension

Dr always told me it was my blood pressure. Usually high.
