When should I get my daughter a bra?

Mommas of (older?) girls. At what age did you or your daughter decide it was time for a training bra? My daughter is still on the younger side (almost 6), but she is on the bigger side. She has sort of developed already. Any tips or advice would be great.

My daughter started wearing one around 7

My daughter we had to take her at 9 she is now almost 14 and she has DD so we knew back then she needed one

Talk to her about it and see if she’s ready for a training bra, or she could wear the tank tops with the built in bras

I have 3 daughters. I would start with undershirts or very basic sports bras. Once they started developing…my middle daughter went from nothing to DDD’s at 12. My 13 year old rn is just growing out of an A cup. It really depends on the individual child. Once YOU can start noticing her developing is when i would start with the appropriate undergarments. Tank tops with shelf bras are great for that in between stages.

My daughter is 7 and she has to wear a training bra. Like the sports ones. Developing a lot quicker than I would have liked but they’re coming and very noticeable.

My daughters started around 9yrs old. But it all depends how developed she is. My mom didn’t buy me any until I was 11 (I was tiny lol)

My daughter is 11. She started developing when she was 8 so we did training bras. She’s now in normal ones.

The little sports bras are a good start so she can get used to having a bra and it provides modesty as well.

My daughter was 7 when I got her a training bra.

I was 10 when my mom took me. But I say ask her how she feels, and go from there :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t have daughters, but the sports type bras are great at any age.

My daughter was 7 when she got one for the 1st time she was growing fast the other one was 10 so its diferent for each girl but you can try one and see how she feels about it

I thought this was a nail page?

If she’s developing I’d say it’s time to start w trainers & or sports bra type/the kind that are inside lil tanks r good starters too :grinning: w her starting to develop already she’ll be in a real/reg bra soon enough, btr to get her used to em now :grinning:

My daughter was Nine,
And You will know if its needed.
If you can see her Breasts through her shirts,
Than its Time.

I’m 20 but I started wearing them around 11 though it should have been sooner. Definitely start getting her to wear one. Training bra or sports bra. It takes a long time to get used to wearing one especially with underwire. It took me forever :woman_facepalming:t2: I absolutely hated them

I’ve had my daughter in a sports bra since she was 5. Her Dad’s side of the family has always developed at a really young age and with this quarantine she’s just gotten bigger so they are a necessity.

I was 4 when I had to start wearing a bra. I needed it. My daughter is almost 7 and still doesn’t, so it all depends on the kid

Cami with a shelf bra

Mine was 7 when she started getting those little fatty pockets that develop and I could see her stuff through her shirt.

My daughter is 9 and we had to get her sports bras at the age of 8 she is developing quite fast. We already had to change the size of her bras. Your her momma you will know when its time.

I believe our chukfren are maturing even younger in age as our days pass. I think the teaibing built in bra tanks are the best way to start

At 8 because she had breast buds and started developing. Started with training bras And now she has the pullover bras with pads so it looks better

If she is developing get her a trainer or sports bra

What kind of question is that??? When she starts to develop is when you use a training bra… It’s pretty self explanatory…

My daughter was born with breast… Since shes been in school she wants to wear one… Sports or training bra… She will be 6 one the 11th of next month

My mother in law got my 5 year old some training bras and at first I didn’t know how I felt about it (women on both sides of her, myself included are very large chested) but my daughter LIVES in them. She loves them.

My daughter started to develop at 9. I started her with a sports bra.

I agree, a sports bra is the best way to go. My girls were 10&11

My daughter was around 7 or 8 I believe because you could kind of see little buds through her shirts.

I bought my daughter’s first one at 6 (she developed them early) she’s 8 now and still has to wear them

Do they even make them size 6? My 6 year old is super small but already developing :sob:

My mom got me some while I was in elementary school I developed early and so by the time I was in middle school I was getting my period

When she starts developing and showing thru her shirts, every one is different

When they start developing… Not a specific age

Not really a certain age… when they start to develop would be a good time.

I got my period when I was 9 and wore a training bra at 8 but if she’s got little ones growing get her a lil sports bra type thing I would do

No certain age to start…whenever they start to develop. Whether it be a comfortable sports bra or even a cami

When boobs start to grow. It’s age irrelevant.

How do you know if your child is just chunky or is developing?

No…let’s be honest at that age that is just fat…not trying to be harsh…but my stepdaughter has always been a larger girl and at that age she had fat there…not breast tissue. Y’all quit trying to make these girls older than they are. Just wait some years. 5 yr olds are not developing breast! Just let her be 5

My daughter started to get buds when she was 7 but when she was 9 I got her wee crop tops she still wears them now as I dont know what her measurements (converting) are for a bra

Yep my girl is double yours age and a dancer and she has worn for yonks sports bras/croo tops and she has little training bras that she wears under lighter tops or tops that are a bit baggies under the armpits etc…best and less has a wide range and lots of cuisine ones for younger girls but my daughter favourite has always been the skin coloured ones

My twins were in second grade. I got them used to wearing them early on

Started my daughter when she turned 6 she’s gonna be 7. Just depends on their little bodies.

Get it as soon as she gets any sign of boobies. Please don’t wait like my parents did till some boy come up to her and embarrasses her.Thats what happened to me.And the world is a lot more crueler now than it was then.

When they start to Show… All little Girls are different, but You Will Know When…

It depends on when they start developing. When they start showing some development, it’s time to get a training bra to prepare them for wearing one full time. However, it is ultimately up to you and her and how comfortable y’all feel about that change.

Started my daughter when she told me she was ready for a training bra. That was the beginning of this year (8).

Once they are 10 I think only because period years are close to then and they can start getting used to them

I started mine early like 3/4 wearing a sports bra… It helped out with them wearing them when they did develop boobs… My girls are now 25 and 12 and I didn’t have a fight ever with them about bra’s… I do not think it’s making them grow up faster than they should… I call it teaching them to be modest with their bodies…

Lord lol I’d say use common sense maybe :woman_shrugging:t2:

We did sport bras and cami when she was younger. It was to cover her chest so she would feel more comfortable with her body. She was a little chunk. So she looked like she was getting boobs but was to young. The transition to bra was easy because she was use to them.

It’s not of age of when a young girl will need one but when their own bodies are changing… I had no boobs at 14 when most girls did at my school… it’s not an age thing. If she needs it get it for her even if it’s just for her own comfort to not feel exposed.

It all depends on her body, if she is starting to develop she needs training bras.

As soon as she starts getting little knots in her shirt

Each child is different. My daughter is 11. She wears a size 34 D.
When they start growing. There is no age to start.

Get her one of these dont get her a actual bra with under wire and stuff just something soft and comfortable…and to anyone who is saying omg dont buy the baby a bra… 1. shes 6 so not a baby 2. Any of you moms out there that have their daughters doing cheerleading or gymnastics your daughter’s wear them so abit hypocritical and 3. To the momma who asked this your doing an amazing job you do what you feel is right or you never know your daughter might come and tell you … but as I said just make sure its soft and comfortable

At that age you should really just make sure she is wearing those tank tops for little girls… thats all she really needs

My daughter is 6 and is also on the bigger side and is already wearing trainers or sports bras

You can get her the trainer ones from target

Omgg my daughter is the same. She is 6 but her breasts are very visible. We got those from my mother’s side. My oldest daughter wears a bigger cup size than I do! I’ve been buying my 6 yr old training bras at Walmart. They’re very stretchy and comfortable. She feels better when she wears them

Soon as she starts developing

Definitely as soon as they start developing or showing it started with mine at ages 8 and 9

My 5 yo grand baby wear sport ones she chunky and got a form to her she wasn’t feeling comfortable and Mimi when and got her some not a big deal :pray: hope this helps

Get her a sports bra

Definitely a sports bra. Very common at that age actually

My daughter was 10 BUT it all depends on the development.

As soon as I see mosquito bites in her shirt.

My aunt started my at 8 with training bras but I was a super skinny kid. Then I switched to actual bras when I was like 10. I personally honestly wish I would’ve just completely skipped the training bra stage. The only thing it taught me was to keep my straps covered other than that I found it kinda pointless. Sometimes kids can’t do training bras cuz they already fit regular bras (A’s or double A’s) and training bras just won’t help much or be comfortable or won’t fit right. I think 6 is still a little too young to start with the training bras in my opinion.

My daughter is 8 and wears one she has been already for a year.

It all depends on her body and how she is developing. I started my daughter at 11 yrs with a training bra. Now if shes showing more maybe a little bra with padding.

my daughter is 9 & we got her sports bras when she was 8 bc that’s when it started getting a tad noticeable. not just that, but she was beginning to get shy about it so it def was time. now she has a good collection of sports bras & training bras & enjoys wearing them no problem. if they’re noticeable at 6, I would go ahead & start getting some sort of bra or tanktop to wear under her clothing. good luck!

Whenever you think it’s time

Please stop these stupid questions and go back to showing nails. I’m ready to block if this continues.

When you do get your daughter a bra just make sure it is a good bra.

A cami with a built in bra shelf is a good start.

Little sports bra’s I got them for my 9 year old grand daughter

I think it’s dependent on if they want one honestly I let my daughter
Decide if she wears one or not :woman_shrugging:t2:

I started sports bras at 8 but yours is bigger so start teaching now even the monthly because she may start between 8-10 I started teaching my itty bitty at 8 so she doesn’t get scared or embarrassed like I did

When her ant hills we’re poking out and noticeable through her shirt.

When she, herself asks for it!

As soon;as possible. When they;start developing. Look at;your nearest clothing department store. In South Africa;usually inside pep or edgars stores. Your kid’s;clothing department should sell "training bra’s"for little girls&sport’s bra’s;if she’s doing sport’s.

Eyi bruh age has nothing to do with this. If the child has breasts that are developing put her in a bra IF she wants to. Otherwise if not them leave it alone

Damn! Is nothing private anymore!!???
