I am sending my kids, if they shut down our school again, I’ll be switching to a new school district !!
We are waiting for the kids vaccine. I suspect there will be another shut down too.
Yes, my son has been home since the beginning of the pandemic. I got him vaccinated and he will be going back this year. I’ll still be sending him with a mask and plenty of hand sanitizer and he knows not to be on top of people if he can avoid it.
Absolutely sending my daughter back! Social interaction is soooo necessary!!
Mine are virtual by her request., they have to be approved first…, and she was
In person for us, she did awful on virtual but excelled in person
Yup. My kids need to be in school. They only suffered with distance learning. Emotionally and mentally.
My daughter was in person for most of last year so she will be in person again.
Yup… they need that face to face… plus I work from home for can’t work and be teachers at the same time
My kids failed at distance learning. They will be going back in person and we are hoping for no more school closures.
Kids are resilient. They should learn to handle life’s up and downs… no matter what. Life is back and forth sometimes… so you get what you get
Homeschool. This delta variant is no joke. It’s completely opposite from the first strain and children are high risk & getting sick.
This is our daughters first year in school and she hasn’t had a lot of social interaction at all really. We’re doing it more for socializing and learning how a classroom works.
Thanks to no child left behind, an idiot for an ex and a negligent governor… My high risk- too young to vax-doesnt meet moving up standards child will be in class, without a mask and continuing to not social distance in anyway and refuse to take meds
At least they will be able to see their friends in person for the time being
We’re I’m at I don’t have a choice this year there starting it out at as completely in school learning
Fear is exactly what they want
Yes. They went every other day last year until April then switched to 4 days per week. They had absolutely no problem wearing masks and did get mask breaks often
My 8 yr old took things really rough last year and she misses her friends. I let her go back… they already started.
Grandkids are going back to in person. They need the socialization
Mine will be in person. I cant home school 4 kids and work. My kids learn better in person than at home
We don’t have the virtual option this year, but mine went last year and I’m happy she did. Kids and teachers were masked
I’m sending mine to school in person this year and going from there. my oldest was at home for an entire year.
I dont want to send then back… but so far our school isn’t offering virtual and I’d be a crappy teacher
I am forced to since they are not offering any home based learning for special needs.
My daughter has been back face to face since September, 5 days a week. She did summer school this summer also. She will go back August 16th to a normal schedule:heart:
We were planning on in person but now with Delta we are choosing to keep them home. Our kids aren’t replaceable.
Our schools are in Provo, UT and they are unwilling to protect the kids so I have to.
Mine were in person last year and will be again this year as well.
Unfortunately yes but what other choice do we have? The school won’t allow distance learning
We don’t have the option of home school this year. So we sent them already,
My kids are going for in person this year. They were fully remote all last year.
Our district is not offering online school this year. I am definitely not a home school Momma, so mine are going in person.
My kids went to school all last year and they will go this year also
Yep! They went in seat last year as well
My 6th grader and kindergartener will be going to school in person.
Yeess back to school august 17th!! They went all year last year with no problems.
Absolutely they went last year and they will go this year we had absolutely no issues
Our school isn’t offering virtual this year.
No I will not. There will have to be another shut down. Not enough people are getting the vaccine and now we have two variants to worry about.
In person my daughter does so much better in person
If I had a school aged kid, no.
There’s no option for them to stay home anymore so they are going back to school.
Not sure yet… Depends what happens in next weeks no matter what they will be wearing masks.
We did at home since the first shut down, this year they are going.
In January off this year all students were required to come back on-site. I don’t think we really have a choice?
Mine went back last year. No fear.
We started homeschooling last year and we are going to keep going
I did last year and I will again this year.
Yes. My daughter went back last April.
My siblings are going back. My daughter is 4 almost 5 and we are doing HIPPY with her again this year instead of inschool
We let our 15 year old choose. She decided online only and graduated a year early.
We homeschool year round, this will be our fourth year.
Absolutely…let them have as much as a normal life as they can!!
Face to face. Mine doesn’t learn anything at home lol
I don’t have an option, so yes my teen will be attending in person school. My company allowed us to work from home, but that agreement is up soon. So assuming so have to go back, he has to go to school. He’s vaccinated though, and the school requires masks, so I’m not as worried as I would be in my younger child had to go to school.
That’s a big YES and without masks for my boys here in SC!
Kindergarten and Pre-K!
Yes because my son is going into his senior year.
Also, I was homeschooled as a child for several years, and although it can be accomplished without always proving detrimental to their education and their social well being, I think these outcomes are few and far between.
I think, in addition to most parents not being qualified to teach children, even when they are, they often get lax over time. In the end, more times than not, you end up with a child who falls behind in their academics. Despite however well intentioned the decision was fraught with, you end up setting your child up for failure, or at least unnecessary challenges. Assimilation back into school can be extremely difficult and many kids struggle for years to catch up. Often times, they’ll need special help from tutors to help them get back on track with their peers. This can be a source of embarrassment and steals from the time they would have otherwise been able to spend on other classes, etc.
Also, from home, it’s nearly impossible to replicate the social benefits a school setting offers to children. Little by little, they’ll struggle to fit in like they naturally did before.
All in all, I think homeschooling is extremely unfair to children and does not offer enough benefits to justify The cost to the child.
You do what’s best for your family.
If I was choosing to put my kid in preschool no I would not have them go to school. But I am waiting until he goes to kindergarten
My son takes and pickup every day
I’m sending all of mine back to school
Am I sending my son to in person school this year?
Do I look like an idiot?
Even before covid I knew this was a bad idea.
We homeschool. Public school is not good enough for my son. They failed him… anything they can teach,I can teach better.
Plus, I don’t want all those filthy little germ bags around him. They are loud and annoying and he deserves a better environment in which to learn.
Yes! They need to socialize!
Yes he was in school all Last year too
Homeschool for us no more ps we enjoy the freedom that comes with homeschool
Yes because my child is behind enough on her education and she needs to spend time w other kids. If you got other kids in your house and ur children are doing well at home then great. Not my case.
Mine are going. He needs the social interaction.
Mine is already in school
Mine are. I say let them go while they can!
Heck yes they are going. We tried remote for half the year last year and our daughter wasn’t flourishing. We put them in person at the end of the year and it helped my daughter so much. She was finally talking and engaging and loves school. It really helped her open up. Remote just makes her shut down. Plus both of our kids get speech and OT through their school.
I dont have a choice, my kids have to go, I have to work
My kids school gave until June 21 to sign up for virtual like not even a week after school finished. I’m pretty sure my kids aren’t going at all if they don’t let them do virtual. I was excited about them getting out the house and back to school cause i have 4 kids under 7 that have been home 24/7 since last year but ppl can’t be chill n I don’t see this getting any better by next month
I started my (shes 6 now) daughter out at public school but it just wasn’t right for us so I signed her up for an online charter school. Look that up!! Our is called Method schools. Yes, its screen time However its not like you’d think. Every schoolday there are lessons and most are hands on. We like the freedom of it. Meet with 2 teachers for just an hour each for the week. Work is to be completed by the end of the week. Once in 4th grade or above they require an extracurricular for physical education which can be done with their guidelines. Its super With mybstep kiddos, they’ll be going back to school in person However if there’s a requirement for them to wear masks, we won’t put them through that.
They went in school last year the last half of the year. They’re going this year too. This virus is here to stay… we now have to live with it.
I was in-person last year and so were my kiddos. Parents had the choice to be either in-person or virtual. The overwhelming majority were in-person.
My daughter will be going in person
No, homeschooling this year.
Absolutely not! I’m really surprised at the amount of people sending their kids back to school.
Waverly schools had in person all year
I’m sending mine to the school
Because they learn better in a classroom and now sitting in front of a computer
We’ve been back full time for a year. Frequent hand washing especially before and after eating has made a huge difference- we usually get a stomach bug every few months and there was nothing last year.
I’m sending both of mine. They love school so much and last year was such a struggle.
Didn’t send them in person last school year even though it was an option and school was fully open. We took the remote learning route. This year we have decided to fully disconnect from the public school system and homeschool. I won’t make my kids sit in school with a mask on all day
Well my kids have been going to daycare and preschool this entire time… so I don’t know why school is any different
Yes. I teach my kid to always wear her mask when other kids are near and to wash her hands frequently what’s all I can do rn ……
I’m sending my kids. They have lost out on so much. I have one who failed kindergarten… and I have one who lost a friend to suicide last year. This girl was in 7th SEVENTH GRADE!!! Enough is enough. I’m not living in fear of a virus any longer.
We have no option of virtual here. The 16yo is vaxxed, will still wear a surgical mask, the 9yo cant be vaxxed yet and they are wearing a kn95, we are opting to wait to send the 3.5 yr old anywhere(no daycare or preschool)
We vaccinated our kids last week and they will be attending in person school…She didn’t thrive during online school…So we pray that our district will be able to remain open…
This is my daughter’s 1st year In a public school. She’s been in public daycare where they had pre k but she’s going into kindergarten now. I’m sending her
Last year my kids did not go back until later because the shut down . However they went every other day between school work online and school inside I still didn’t feel they got the attention they needed for classes ect. This year my son will be a senior the others will be 7 and 8 grade and they will be vaccine. If you do not like my vaccine choice just know my teens are older and it was there choice. However yes they will be in school this year if we have it … It depends on the parents honestly if you have time to home school do wahts best but working and home school doesn’t always work out…
Yes we are. We have a lot going on in our school to fight back against wearing masks which is going well so far. Our kids are very excited!!
Yes but my kids went last year too
Yes my kids will be in person
No im keeping my 11 year old home this year
My daughter is going to school just like last year. The school was only shut down once for 2 weeks and that mentally messed with my child’s head. She would cry every morning because she wanted to go sit with her classmates and her teachers. She did amazing with the masks last year. She’ll do fine this year.
They were in school last year and will be in school again this year. Social interaction is extremely important in growth and virtual learning is useless
No… if you don’t have to please don’t
Yes I’m sending my kid to school.
Yes! Going private this year.
Yes she’s going back.
